es una de esas operas que nunca me canso de oir, nucci es un gran schichi, una representacion de primera, eso si el detalle anacronico de la puesta en escen a me estorba un poco.
Nucci is one of my favourite baritones, and vocally he is without peer. I just wish he SANG more in this production. It's all very shout-y, almost spoken. I dont' know that it's his fault; I think maybe the director asked this of him more often. I miss the incredible lines Puccini gave him. His Schicchi from Vienna is much more musical. Still, his high G at 34:05 is classic Nucci, like Verdi (see his Rigoletto with Sutherland), and shows why he is one of (if not THE) greatest Italian baritone around. It is an interesting production. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful set, beautifully acted, beautifully sung. BUT not an ounce of humour anywhere. Go and look at the Glyndebourne version - just a huge giggle from start to finish; a lovely ensemble production. BRAVO Glyndebourne!!
Basta ascoltare qualunque altro schicchi in circolazione per rendersi conto di quanto sia imbarazzante non tanto questa produzione ma anche soltanto il vecchio osannato Nucci. Capecchi, Taddei, Bruscantini, per non citare Gobbi, sono dei giganti irrecuperabili in confronto.

This is my favorite opera to sing in. However, unless you are Schicchi or Lauretta nobody will even realize that you were there.
