    A large C-Clamp also works great to push the caliper piston in. Be sure to loosen the brake fluid cap.

    Hello, is it bad if I didnt put grease on the Little métal part avec the calipers ? Thanks

    • @DirtydogMech
      @DirtydogMech  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It isn't bad. But it is recommended to keep consistency in brake feel and performance

    oh gosh, i'm about to do this for the first time, knowing my luck i will struggle to get the wheel off, or find the place to jack up the car

    • @DirtydogMech
      @DirtydogMech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Just take your time. Be safe. Just very slightly loosen the wheel before jack up the first side if your not using an electrical impact gun. The lifting points you can see a metal edge, that where you jack it up from

    • @DirtydogMech
      @DirtydogMech  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It broke inside the caliper bracket? If it broke inside and it's accessible, heat it up with a torch. Use pliers to twist and pull while you heat it up and spray lubricant on it. If nothing works need a whole caliper and bracket

    This is a perfect video except for one thing condition of your rotors is not just groves, they can be smooth as silk and be too thin. You have to mic them or you just don't know. Nice Video!

    • @DirtydogMech
      @DirtydogMech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, for sure you are correct. It's always good to check thickness with a mic. I've been working on Hondas long enough to know when they're in need of new brakes just by look and feel. Thank you for compliments!

  • @ldeg9876
    @ldeg9876 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Where did you place the jackstand? The video doesn't show where it actually touches the bottom of the car. I have a 1998 Civic so hopefully it is the same location as your 2000 car. Thanks.

    • @DirtydogMech
      @DirtydogMech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a spot underneath the radiator looks like a square box but it lifts a little more of one side than other. The other jacking points are on either side of the car underneath the area of the door hinges. The look like to tabs sticking out more than the rest of the body work

    • @ldeg9876
      @ldeg9876 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DirtydogMech That's helpful to know! Thank you. I can lift with jack under the radiator and place stands on the side. But you lifted it different in the video. You used the side to lift with the jack. But I can't see where you placed the jackstand under the car. (And a follow up to that is, which way is better?)
