I re-started it today. I had forgotten the difficult sequence of traps in the Great Wall level: crumbling floors, rolling boulders, a pit of spikes, a split-second pickup to avoid encroaching spike walls, more collapsing floors, swinging blades, another spit-second pickup, then run! It took me quite a few goes to get the automatic pistol clips and Jade Dragon OK, though I lost a little health. Then, just some rats, two tigers... and the small matter of two T-rexes to kill, and you're home free. I stopped for a breather at the Venice lock gates sequence, after getting all three dragons for the level.
@@E24KLawson I don't recall the game having a language setting. To play the game in any other language you had to buy it in that language. But yeah, in this (and the French version) she's saying "you still there?"
I loved this ending! Tomb raider 2 will always be my favorite :) My favorite moments from this game were the venice, Italy level because of the music, the giant dragon boss shooting it with uzi's was badass, roaming around her manor and finding secrets, and this ending was even more awesome, having a gunfight in the manor, and shoots the camera at the end lol.
Cuz of the flashings and the sound of the alarm as well, it was also being used in the first silent hill game, and everything look so pixelated, those are why ig
This part was always my favourite of the game, the part where you're in this Chinese place and there's a man floating scared the shit out of me when I was younger.
I JUST finished this game again, first time in 15 years or so. And yes, the floating islands and this level scared the living sh*t out of my still. Doesn't matter it's all blocky lol
If Tomb Raider has taught me anything, it's save and save often. I remember playing this game in my early 20s. Made it as far as this video, but never beat the damn game. And the PC version was the hardest game I had ever played, cause the keyboard was ur game controller. Finally see the ending and can't believe the last guy that kept on killing me is the last guy to kill.
We need true third person games like this again. True wide angle camera. A solid goal in mind but no hand holding. Actual platforming. A heroine who is strong and capable but is not afraid to be feminine. Not to mention a game that knows it's audience. Oh and that acrobatic gun combat was so fun.
The next morning, a postman shows up to the manor foyer and sees Lara and Winston sweeping the mess. Lara: I just woke up this morning and just hated everything.....

Fun fact: Final boss is the same guy as in Opera house. His arm is bandaged here from his last fight with Lara. Even funnier that you could have defeated him with the grenade launcher at the Opera house which would make it hard to put Humpty Dumpty back together.
When i was a kid ( i am 22 now) i had theme anniversary parties whole waiting for time to pass and when people also were busy with the stuff i Always played tomb raider out of every game i had it Always to this day i dont know why. Just a fact

I was playing tomb raider 2 in 1997 with computer 😅 it was very good memory!! My family thought that I was sleeping. But I was playing games until 5am and sleep for 2 hours and go school at 7:30 😅 playing soccer after achool at the evening. And wait until they sleep and start to play tomb raider at the night. God !! Very special memories at all ❤️🩹❤️🩹
Shades of Scarface, except with a pump-action shotgun rather than an M16 with an M203 grenade launcher, and medpaks instead of cocaine. It would have been nice to hear Lara saying, "Say hello to my little friend, boys!"
Admit it; those men are only raiding your house to free Winston who you so cruelly left locked in the freezer.
LOL
Well she didn't really do that until Tomb Raider 3...
there was a mention in the Rise of the tomb raider in one off the DLC that she, always left Winston in the freezer. haha
But he always somehow found a way out
Larvitar lol
The nostalgia has just hit me like a tons of bricks.
