    I don't remember HK restaurants not providing tissues....but I did encounter that in Singapore.

    I'm in HK now on day 5 of 7 of a seven day trip. I think this video is a great introduction to some travel tips there. As a westerner, the sitting with strangers was the most unexpected thing. I went with a HK friend to a busy restaurant and it was a bit strange to me that she immediately sat at a table where there were already a bunch of people there. This however only seemed to be the case at the more inexpensive places where locals eat as other places didn't seem to be a issue.

    Approved by a Hong Konger here ✔️✔️✔️Completely nailed it with the tissues and whenever I go back to HK I always find it troublesome if I don't have a pack with me 😂 But I will say the good food in HK is scattered pretty much everywhere in the city, but there are definitely more options available in Mongkok and Central 👍🏼

    We got the tissues covered. Well baby wipes. They come in handy all the time.
    I’m going to check out Klook. Haven’t heard of this either.

Chinese characters are written and can be read regardless of dialect spoken. Also, not sure why you mentioned Chungking Mansion if it is a "shady" place. Hey guys thanks for all the tips 😀 we are going to be in Hong Kong in September so will definitely be using these tips! Were there plenty of ATMs around the city? We struggled in some parts of mainland China to find ATMs eeeekkk! What was the best thing you guys did there?

    • @nickandhelmi
      @nickandhelmi  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey thanks sally and ed :D - hope you guys enjoy your trip to Hong Kong, yes there were decent amount of atm - although can be difficult to find - but usually in major areas like central/ mongkok its fairly easy to find them (generally google map can also tell you the nearest atm) - the only problem is if it accepts overseas card or not, as some may only do local - thats the only downside. The best thing we did was went on a day trip to Macau - that was quite interesting, only went for half a day but did quite a lot - unfortunately during our trip (if you see our other hong kong guides, it was raining most of the time, so we were mainly food hunting :) ) - make sure you vlog your adventure looking forward to see that!

    • @SallyAndEd
      @SallyAndEd 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the Macau tip - I didn't realise you could do a day trip. That's really good to know. Definitely on the list. That's such a shame about the weather. Haha, nothing wrong with a little food hunting! Almost sounds like our ideal way to spend the day 😂!

    Is it one octopus card per person? I will be travelling in HK with my 2 kids. One is 6 years old and youngest is 1 years old. Any more tips?

    • @nickandhelmi
      @nickandhelmi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shiela Marquez hi Shiela - yes octopus card is one per person, so you would need 3 in this case. - i am not sure if the 1 year old can get a free pass - assuming if you have strollers most likely wouldnt need to pay as you would enter and exit together (i would believe so) but for this may need to double check with the station staff. I have 3 other hongkong guides - food, what to do around hongkong and also macau day trip.
      Depends what you like to do - but hongkong has plenty things to do but mainly lots of food space there :) there is the buddha statue too. What do you guys generally like to do?

      Hongkonger passing by: for kids under 12 years old there is a kid version octopus card (so you only pay half of the transportation fee)
      Also kids younger than 3 travel for free I believe 🤔
      So in your case your 6yo kid can get the children octopus card and the 1yo should be fine (as s/he does not have his own card you may want to hold him on your hand when you go through the gate)
      Hope this helps!

      @@nickandhelmi I believe the staff in station will tell tourists when they're purchasing the cards 😂 so that shouldn't be a problem at all 😉

    How much money is needed for 2 month stay?

    • @nickandhelmi
      @nickandhelmi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like Mike i guess it depends wether you like to shop big have a comfortable lifestyle - for us is about eating their local food that are delicious - so that falls into the more street food category, i think your most expensive cost is most likely accomodation.
      As for how much you need for 2 months i cant say for sure depends if you are travelling solo or not

      Hi Jovelyn, it depends which passport you are holding. If you're holding Australian passport, there is no visa for 90 days :)

      ummm I went there once with my friends and I feel safe. Don't let those people standing outside the mansion scared you, and once you "breakthrough" that "barrier" and walk inside, it's alright haha
