let's not boo that it's over, let's laugh that it happened. despite all the plot points that were dropped unceremoniously i agree that this is one of the best Sentais i've seen, the characters carried so fucking hard.
The DonBrothers were much like the Oden Stand they frequented. Sonoi said it best “Oden is wonderful. where you can end up sitting next to someone by complete coincidence, but it is still comforting” Many different ingredients coming together to create an experience that comforts and satisfies. Thank you DonBrothers!
Dobrothers was an amazing season. The characters and their interactions are what make this show shine. The Noto trio are my favorite characters and I love how they grow throughout the season and end up being members of the Donbros.
It's actually one of the best piece of fiction in my opinion & easily the best Tokushow. It's unbelievable how the show itself was wacky & eccentric while can still write such a strong & mature-ish cast
I don't want to mention other media but, the show actually reminds me of Season 1 & 2 of Gintama which also one of the best thing I've ever experienced I actually watch both show in japanese to fully experience & appreciate its dialogue, writing, & the jokes, cause the show was supposed to be based on japanese folk tale, but they're just fugged it up & doesn't give a crap about the culture, that alone is a wild comedy for me. If I also talk about why the show also gives some mature elements, this comment will be 24 paragraphs, but the point is, I saw this show the same as early Gintama my favorite fiction.
@@TheDragonman104 Nouto and DonDragokuh are more developed than the actual Donbrothers. Only Haruka have some kind of actual humor, the rest are just useless goofballs.
As for Murasame, Don Murasame is based on Muramasa a real life sword that many japanese created Stories and Tales like curses and all that stuff. Probably that is why murasame has no identity. And i agree with you on Mother being another personality, since Mother in Japanese sound a lot like "MASA" on Muramasa. Also, "Mura" and "Same" is a word play as well that means "Shark" and "Purple".
The love traiangle (or square) plot was my most favorite plot of the season. Which is both the most funniest because of how Sononi tries to advance towards Tsubasa and gets cold shouldered (literally), and scary for what Kijino became during his phase when Tsubasa and “Miho” embraced. I’m not at all saddened of how it all ended. I mean yea, getting left behind by the one you fought to see again sucks and I can understand people not liking Sononi because of her lies. But I’m happy to see dog boi actually accepting his fate and taking the L. He’s been through worse and I sort of relate with him. Because I’d do the same. Take that pain of losing someone and make it my strength to keep moving forward. One reason why InuBrother is my favorite of the team… Also, Sononi for the win. If you’re gonna do some f*cked up sh*t to protect me like attack the cops chasing me, you’re gonna win my heart. Those two deserve each other. Anyone is free to disagree.
I cried at the end of the show. Probably one of my favorite casts in Super Sentai. Hopefully we'll have more Donbros poisoning with the Crossover movie.
@@KezzaHenshin I’m sorry but I cannot stand DonBrothers. I don’t understand why people are calling the one of the best Sentai seasons when it’s just a complete joke. All the rangers act like complete clowns and none of it make sense, there’s barely any plot, and the CGI is just painfully unwatchable, hell so unwatchable to the point where I just stopped watching it.
Donbros is hands down the best season, just everything that happen was well done and it was very different compare to other seasons we've gotten, I'm gonna miss everyone the actors deserve an oscar and there performance was perfect
Also, I also cried bitch tears during this episode. Watching Taro, the taro we've known and love, practically die in real time broke me. When he returned to the battlefield during the last scene I was getting some strong "Kamina's last stand" vibes and needed a moment. Man I hadn't sobbed that much over an emotional red guy since Kamen Rider Drive. Rest in peace, Heart.
They actually did explain Don Kaito was coming out, I remember them saying he was an alternate version of Zenkai Kaito who had matured like the AR riders from Decade
Since we didnt get alot on Jirō, are we going to get an extension of why you like his arc or no? Id love to hear your thoughts on it as a fellow Brit who loves Jirō (Jirōs I guess?)
I know I am very much late on the Donbrothers train but it is, GENUINELY, one of the best super Sentai show I've watched mind you I've only watch 5 or less seasons but still, and as much as that ending was sad af, I can't help but smile through it, Donbrother was for me, a journey, journey filled with tears and smiles, laughs and cries, and as such as it is, every journey ends, so we need to enjoy, and smile through it, it's also what momoi taro want, for people to be happy that it happened (I still cried rivers of tears that makes the river from momotaro's origin looks like a kiddie pool but still smiling while doing it !!), And now, a fitting Haiku, for our lovely brothers Endless Festival Insanity and surprise will forever be Sayonara and Aishiteru donbrothers❤💙💚💛🖤🧡💜 !!!! (Technically we are going to see Them again soon in Zenkaiger vs Donbrothers but it's still a permanent goodbye) (Also, nice observation on the black and white part, didn't realized that, wait wasn't momoi taro's mailman outfit black and white too ?!) -DM
Sentai's been in a creative drought for the better part of a decade and Donbrothers feels like something the franchise needed. The characters in this season were some of the freshest and fun I've seen in a long damn while and the more down-to-earth absurdist humor really stands out. Even with the obnoxious amount of hanging plot-threads and ass-pulls (I didn't like the love-triangle plot at all - It wasn't bad in-concept; it just dragged out for way too long and paid off like a wet fart. The Juto completely go to waste too.), Donbrothers at least tries to tell a different kind of story and I can respect that. It's not perfect and has its issues, but this season reinvigorated my love for Sentai and I'm glad it happened. Sonoi's group were the best characters. Also Torabolt and Murasame deserved better.
you know, i like that the last episode showed that everything we saw are from Haruka perspective in her manga(kinda) thats why she kinda became the main character in earlier episodes so some "plot holes"(such as power ups, the entire world, Don Murasame, wishes, Kaito and gears collecting, Naoto existence, prison dad, etc, i can list more if i have the time) are just her not knowing everything this is just my theory tho
This was one of my favorite Sentai up there with shinkenger, gokaiger and lupin ranger vs patrangers it has its ups and downs but all in all it's a very great sentai
I personally thought the donbrother morphers were actually designed by master using momotaro’s power, hence y momotaro is the only one with multiple applications to it sort of like a limiter
Don brothers was the 2nd sentai I've finished And as a bigger fan of a Rider and Ultraman, I loved Don Brothers a lot more compared to the concurrently running Kamen Rider(Revice and Geats) and Ultraman (Decker) series. Sure some things in the show didn't get explained properly with some characters not having enough development, id say that the show still made the characters so lovable and their relationship. The fact that some characters had to get rewritten but they were done so well, it was such an amazing show. Although the ending didn't have the chaotic energy as the other episodes that i expected, I'd say its still such a beautiful ending for the characters. Fact that Inoue didn't really care about the use of toys helped it more. Thank you Inoue. This series really is the Only One from 2022.
It has been 3 weeks since Donbrother ended and Tarou losing his memory in the final arc shocked me. At first I thought the " love relationships " would be Tarou with Haruka because of the whole " Don Onitaijin is Tarou's weakness arc ". I just wonder how did Tarou came back and where did he go during his disappearance and how does this connect to the upcoming VS movie which takes place 1 year later?
Donbrothers felt like more of a lifetime film than a sentai. It had cool moments but it tried too hard to be “different” and not enough in getting the normal sentai things right. Where we’re the boss fights? The ‘end of the world’ drama? The helmetless morph? The team coming together to face a unbeatable threat? The badass individual character moments (Haruka had one in ep 10)? The growth in mentality which translated to power, for EVERYONE, not just taro? It felt like there were no stakes, just vibes.
You ship Tarou and Sonoi a lot hahahaha! Awesome video Kezza Henshin! Cried thrice and got emotional after nth re-watches..Grieved at their departure. I Loved Donbrothers equally great!I even bought the Don Onitaijin Mecha! It is so brilliant that this Supersentai made me go back to the genre and watch every episode! Part of me still wished that Tsubasa told Natsumi what happened, at least. Seems like he could have just told her and didn't. I don’t hate the idea of he and Sononi being together, but I thought that if he told her the actual truth, she'd maybe begin to understand what happened.
The blue ranger was sadly pretty forgotten this season. He did so little and had no real narrative. I LOVE Donbrothers but since blue rangers are my thing, it was so sad to see him left with nothing. His lonely walk through the back alley in the dark felt a little on the nose lol.
Definitely more of a 'throw everything at the wall and see what sticks' season, but a good one overall. I get the feeling that by the time they decided to keep the Sono Trio around, they were banking more on the characters than the actual plot points they'd tried to set up at the start. Which is kind of a shame, but at the same time I guess we should just be glad it all turned out the way it did. It could have easily ended up a non-sense season that missed the mark. As to theories, I've considered from the start that this only makes sense after the end of Zenkaiger, namely that Kaito Black isn't actually Kaito, but the "god" we saw briefly therein. Which would make sense as to why they were even collecting Sentai powers to begin with. It feels like that and his connection to the Don clan were supposed to be fleshed out more, but again, who can say.
I like you video because I didn’t think about donbrothers in that sense or rather I didn’t see it your way.
