    This is the last video in our Canadian Rockies road trip series. We're leaving Jasper National Park and making our way back home to Washington along the Yellowhead Highway 16 and the famous Coquihalla Highway. On our final night of camping in Canada we stayed at Silver Lake Provincial Campground in BC. #camping #canada #road trip #canadianrockies #outdoors #travel

    I've been a long-time camper and grilling enthusiast, previously an avid Traeger+ user. However, after making the switch to Asmoke, I've found that it has completely changed my camping experiences. The Asmoke grill is portable and battery-powered, making it ideal for road trips and camping in places like the Canadian Rockies. It's amazing to have the ability to grill up a meal in a Provincial Park with such ease! What's truly impressive is the precise temperature control Asmoke offers, which has taken my grilling game to a whole new level! The added bonus of being able to experiment with different wood pellet flavors is just the cherry on top. It's made my camping and cooking experience more enjoyable and convenient. Can't wait for my next outing with Asmoke! #Asmoke

    Cool series yawl thank you for sharing. Just wanted to share a little about deer. I grew up in N. Seattle in the 70's and 80's and as a child I don't remember ever seeing deer. I had a neighbor at one time, a person he had to be in his 80's. He would tell stories of hunting deer in the area we lived in (landmark 145th and Lake City Way) when he was a young man. At that time the Seattle City limit was around 85th. In the 70's there were still little patches of woods we would play in. As the city developed the area those woods would also disappear. Anyways we are now in Olympia, and deer sightings are regular they even visit our neighborhood and yard looking for food. I have had two very close encounters with deer. The first time I was riding my bicycle when I came around a corner and surprised a young male. The second time was in our front yard. Both times I startled the deer and they jumped with such explosiveness that you can actually hear their muscle contract and release. Sounds like when we shoot a rubber band but you can actually feel it. Nature is so amazing!

    Do you know there is a show on History called Highway Thru Hell about local heavy tow truck recoveries on BC highways including the Coq? They are some of the bravest folks out there. T here is even a bunch of full length episodes on youtube.

    Really enjoying all your videos but this series in particular.
    I would not disperse camp within 3 hours of Vancouver until you know the area well. The eastern part of the lower mainland can have a lot of sketchy areas until well off the beaten path. The provincial parks and many of the FSR Rec Sites (especially ones that are not self serviced) are a best option.
    The party crowd tends to hit the closer dispersed camping areas so can be noisy and sketchy.
    Some beautiful spots and lots of good people on the trails.

    That was quite the list of animals ya saw on the trip, pretty impressive! No sightings of John Rambos running around the woods outside of Hope, BC? I hear them Rambos is pretty elusive. Maybe next time. 🤞

    Question for you if you decided to upgrade your vehicle what would you pick and why ?

    • @WheresWiseman
      @WheresWiseman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a tough question! We both like the 4Runner but it would also be nice to finally have a truck bed. Always liked the gladiators but not 100% there yet. It's hard to give up the short wheel base and tight turning radius but if we did, we'd probably move to a whole new setup, maybe a truck camper. Four doors and a solid roof is sounding better and better every day 😅

    • @dalekarraker6851
      @dalekarraker6851 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I spent three years building my Gladiator and then found it had a bent frame, so I said goodbye to the Glad a few weeks ago. You're right about the truck bed and hard top though - which is also why I replaced my Gladiator with a Ford F150. Lots more room and that 5.0L motor actually gets better fuel economy than my Jeep.

      Thanks for the reply. Your channel is awesome!! lots of great content. I have to admit what made me start watching your videos was the jeep . I myself live here in the PNW in Skagit, and love all the places that you visit camping in the PNW. I always look forward to seeing your next adventures and definitely look back at your older adventures to get some insight into places I haven’t been and would love to see. Thanks again for sharing your experience and all the information about your travels.

    Like you said in another video, people suck. Just a few losers can ruin it for a lot of people, but most people are pretty cool, in my opinion. I gotta check out Hope since I live near Bellingham AND have a mini camper. I was in Banff not too long ago and I saw a black bear on one side of the road and tourists getting ready to go hiking on the other side 😮. 97 south off of hwy. 1 is amazing!

    What beautiful scenery. By the way, if you are ever on the East Coast and are able to hit Great Smoky mountain national Park, they are crappy with bears. I camp there frequently as I am just a few hours away and only one time did I not see a bear. Needless to say they are very strict with bear etiquette and rules. I have enjoyed the Canadian videos very much and hope to get up there someday. thanks for posting.

    And wow, that was quite the list of wildlife sightings the two of you had. Always watch out for the moose! They can be dicks!
    I had to do a bit of a deep dive on the Coquihalla Highway you spoke of, and now it's on my list of interesting roads I would like to drive someday.
    Looking forward to your next video. :-)

    We were at Silver Lake last year in July and it was amazing.

    Really enjoy our provincial parks...pretty well stayed in one in every province across Canada. Wonderful that you saw some of the awesome wildlife along the way!! It really is cool!! You're more likely to see a moose at this time of year at a more remote lake...but great that you did catch a glimpse! Have fun and enjoy your experience!!
