Ruan, stunning modelling!! I’m feeling much better about my not so good sewing efforts! I have to admit to a couple ending up straight in the recycling bin, but I do keep on keeping on! 🐾🐾
Firstly Rachel I love your hair. All your makes look fab.I love this vlog as you learn so much listening to you all.Your interactions are brilliant and make me wish I had someone to bounce ideas off. Instead I 'll talk to myself in the full length mirror. Tamlyns dress looks fab with the belt.I agree,it doesn't matter what anyone else says you have to be comfortable in what you wear.I also find I can change my mind daily . I think Ruans idea of just turning the waistline and inserting elastic is a great way to solve all the problems. If I can't find a finished measurement I measure the pattern pieces before I cut out.
A very honest appraisal of your makes. They all look great. I especially like Rachel’s dress. Big 6 patterns only have finished measurements on the tissue pattern but without finished measurements you’re working in the dark really. Indie patterns are usually good at this but are giving a lot more ease than they did it seems. It was nice to know that the rib knit was easy to work with. I have some blush pink from btpd to use and thought the Sibiu top might work. Thank you for your fun video. 😊
Love Tamlin's dress . The colour is fabulous on you. ❤ you all look amazing. Thank you for your honest opinion and advice. You all rocked those makes. ❤
You all look fabulous, I really enjoy your banter together, and it's nice to know I'm not the only one with sewing fails, and will remember that the next time I'm weeping over my sewing machine 😂 I loved the cat walk at the end
Love your dress Rachel. Tamlin your dress really suits your colouring. Ruan, your lounge suit ( although a bit big, looks good. Thank you ladies for another great video. xxxxx
You look lovely, ladies. The fabrics, especially the patterned ones, are what dreams are made of. Love the honesty about the process, and I am glad you are sharing what changes you are planning to make it work for you. Thanks!
Oh my goodness I can so identify with the whole "that doesn't fit or look how I expected ". I end up re - cutting and sewing most items in some way, especially blouses/tops. I now do more toiles and have much lower expectations!! I get there in the end though. Love the colours you have chosen and the all the useful comments on the patterns.
It’s gorgeous! I’m usually not a fan of a gathered look but this is really lovely! The gathering is not too much but just right for a cool airy fit. The fabric, I agree, is beautiful! Now are you going to make your own pattern for the rest of us😊?! So happy you’re doing so well 🤗. Speedy recovery to you!
Great video ladies. Interesting to me particularly as I haven’t tackled rib knit fabrics yet 😊 You all look great in the very different styles you chose 😊
Loved! Loved! Loved this vlog and your beautiful camaraderie 🥰 Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It has given me encouragement to keep sewing 🇦🇺🥰
Loved all your makes, you all look super in what you made. Thank you for giving such a great video, it is encouraging to hear that not every project goes to plan. Several times, I’ve been really excited about a particular sewing project, you finish it & it just doesn’t look or feel right & end up binned, never to be seen again. ❤
I worked with a rib knit once and went to the effort of creating a label for the inside that read ‘this fabric is evil’ 😂 it just grew and grew and grew! I’m glad you managed to salvage your makes 😊
Fab video thank you - lots of fun! 😅🤩 I'm totally with you on the finished garment measurements, I always use them over the usual measurements. I have the karla loungewear set ready to print, so thank you for all the tips, will think carefully about sizing and definitely shorten!! All look gorgeous as always 😘
I am impressed by Ruan's drawing, since I can't draw a straight line with a ruler! I love 1st For Fabrics; love getting the little notes with my order and the quality and the choice of the fabrics. The rib knits and your garments are all gorgeous, albeit a couple of tweaks are required. Will you show us your garments again when you've made those tweaks, please?
I have plenty of fails. 😊 One thing I’ve done recently has helped with design choices. You might want to try it. Take photos of yourself in a form fitting garment ex. Leggings and sport bra or a bathing suit. Then, either by using an app like procreate or old school tracing paper, trace over the images, drawing yourself in something like a bathing suit. You can then either sketch your design idea over the top of these images in an app or with tracing paper. You might find, like me, that your ideas about how something will look on you will change. 😊
Ruan, I am so glad you made this set. I bought it but struggled with my measurements putting me in a 2x. In RTW us sizing I am a 14. So I think after seeing yours I will size down and definitely take some off the crotch depth.
I love all 3 and the cobalt blue is a stunning colour on you Tamlyn. I've already bought the same colourway as Rachel as it is so beautiful but I think I might need the red colourway as well as it is amazing. 3 great looks and all very different .💗💙❤
Forgot to mention earlier, thank you Rachel for influencing me to buy the gorgeous rust colour floral double gauze fabric, thank you Tamlyn for processing the order so quickly and packaging so beautifully and thank you Ruan for the catwalk performance ❤. Lynne
Thank you for the honest feedback on how your makes went. You all looked fabulous sat there together, your fabrics all complimented each other really well. I love all the outfits, you all look fabulous. Ruan, your catwalk at the end was hilarious 🤣
Ryan your cat walk had me howling! Rachel I absolutely love your dress and Tamlyn I think yours looks stunning on you too! Ruan the colourway you chose looks fabulous on you! Thanks for the entertainment ladies x
Lovely colours and honest feedback. Rib knit can be a devil with the way it grows and a nightmare to hem. Agree with Rachel, I think sewing teaches skills like problem solving and creative solutions…..
Love all your makes and think you've each made a great choice for yourselves. I was really interested to see how you got on with sewing rib jersey as I made a t shirt with it last year that wasn't a great success, I think because like Rachel said, it grows! After watching you all though, I'm inspired to go back to it and see how I can change it. Thanks for another great video girls!
All your makes are amazing ladies. That blue is stunning on Tamlyn. I really love the styling each of you have done too. Rachel im loving the pumps and Ruan, yours looks too dressy to be loungewear. I made rib knit tee dress recently. It's not been warm enough to wear it yet but I wondered if it would drop. It might be my first and last. Great giggly vlog as always.
Not only do your fabrics look good on each of you, they go well together. One of you should take all the scraps and make a waste not top. I vote Ruan, as she adores the other colour way of her fabric.
Thank you for being honest it was a very interesting vlog and Ruan, your catwalk made me laugh out loud. I have looked at that swim style pattern a few times. It looks so good on the model and will never look that good on me. I recently made a pair of Nina Lee portabello trousers. They looked absolutely awful. So I took out the pleats, cut inches off the front, put a pin tuck down the front, took off the waistband, folded over the top and added elastic in the back. The pockets are still rubbish, but they are now very comfortable and wearable. You would think that I would remember that I don't like flappy pockets and change them! I have another pair that I had cut out and I need to decide how I am going to change them.
You all look amazing. Thank you for an honest opinion and showing how a make can work with different styling. I will be reviewing my sardine fabric lotta dress (I kid you not) where something went awry between the vision and reality 😂
Thanks for your honest reviews, yes we all have times we make something and it doesn’t look like the image, or we feel it doesn’t suit us but you can turn it around which is what you proved. Great job, love the strutting 😂
Loved the conversation. Both dresses look fabulous. And, while your pieces might be a little on the roomy side, Ruan, you still looked good in them. :-) Great vlog!
This was an excellent and refreshing discussion and explanation about dreaming and planning a project, versus the end result and how we actually feel in the garment. I have found that I usually need to size down in rib knit compared to when I use a regular jersey on the same pattern. I think your makes look great, but I can see how taking them in would be helpful.
I think your outfits are all brilliant! I didn't have a disaster as such but the pair of elastic waist pants that I naively expected to take a couple of hours to sew ended up taking 2 days!! Don't ask!
So much fun ladies! I love all your makes. Ruan I wonder if the rib knit is giving you a lot of extra stretch? I’ve just made the Karla pants and going by the body measurements mine (in a stable ponte) are really close fitting. Definitely give them another go, I LOVE them ❤
Yes just had a disaster with my Mabel dress( have made 4 ) l can practically make them without looking at the pattern, but unfortunately I caught the bodice in My overlocker , so had to add about 4 inches around the waistline, it looks ok. Have made many mistakes but it’s all part of sewing😩. Love listening to to you ladies, and enjoy seeing your makes, there all lovely.😌xx
Really enjoyed watching you ladies and for some reason I've only noticed your hair colours today and you remind me of the Destiny's Child hair colours when there were 3 of them 😅😅😅 and yes that would make you Beyoncé Rachel ahah! Loved this vlog and your gorgeous makes and you lifted my mood up so thank you ❤❤❤ 🤗🤗🤗
Loved the video and you talking us through the patterns and the reality of sewing. I have bought the same as Rachel - what patterns would you suggest making with this fabric? I want to make a Top but not sure which pattern would suit the fabric best. Loved you strutting your stuff you all look amazing x
Thanks for sharing ladies!!! Love your makes. Thanks for sharing that things don't always go as planned but you still can make it work.
Y’all’s colors suit you so well. I’m sitting here laughing with you three. Thanks for the fun video!

Rachel your hair looks gorgeous with those waves! Sitting here with hair envy. It is good to see that projects don’t always come out how you plan.

Lovely honest vlog, really enjoyed it. All three of you look fantastic and I loved the catwalk. ❤😊

Love them all and your banter girls x
Good to hear your advices I will need to look on my not great makes maybe in different way. But oh my word Ruan is just a star at the end 😅❤

Sun and rain? Huh! Hailstones today up here thirty miles further North i.e. Northumberland. That fabric might make a nice warm jumper. 😨
You all look fab ♥️ great makes x
Looking fantastic ❤❤❤
You all look fabulous ladies 😍
I had to record the Wardrobe by Me Body Taken. It was fast, fast to big. I think i the two sizes smaller and that was so much better.
Sorry for the late reply! A tank top would look lovely in this fabric. I think there’s a free one called the Blomma Tank 🤔
I think you all did very well. Ruan, I'm 5ft 18nch on a very good day so 1 leg of your Simon Cowells would make me a dress like Taml8ns 😂
Sorry 1 inch
Love your hair like that, Rachel!
Rachel takes the tiara this time around, lovely colours lovely dress 🧡
xXX👍👍👍
😂
