  • Video shows driver and passenger rear doors, but this video will work for front doors too.

I was apprehensive to drill out the pin. Instead, I used a punch in the hole. After several strikes, the lock released and I didn't need to drill at all. Awesome video. Thank you for this.

Thank you for this great video!. The drilling of the pin is the trick. Then cycle the lock cylinder to unlock, and the door is now able to be opened.

nice video but you are showing removal of panel when the door is opened. Mine is locked and i get frustrated when I look at your video which doesnt show how to get it open whren the panel is on and the door is locked. ?????

I have an 05 mini cooper S with a dead battery. The key does not unlock the door when turned to a completely horizontal position and there is no feeling of resistance while turning it until I get to that horizontal stopping point. I think the lock mechanism may have an internal problem that doesn't allow the key to unlock it. Is there any other way to gain entry so I can pop the hood and charge the battery?

BMW has a way to enter. I don’t think they will share it though

@@verdevalleyautoelectric4336 Found a way through a YT vid. Under the driver's side of the car, tucked up under the edge, is the red power cable that runs from the front of the car to the rear where the battery is located. You can cut a small hole in the insulation jacket and push a screwdriver into it. Then hook a charger to that screwdriver and the negative to the frame and you can charge the car that way. Took an overnight charge but worked like a charm.
