    So, my bifold closet door, actually has this thing on the very bottom, close to a screw looking. But I actually lost that part like 1 day ago, I thought it was just one of my siblings stuff. But I managed to get it back! So It was actually quite hard to get it to stay in the hole at the very top. And very hard to put this screw thing on the hole it came out of. And let me remind you, this was a single person working on this heavy closet door. After finally fixing it. When I keep closing and opening, the thing that has the hole and has this screw on the bottom piece (At the top) was moving/scooting. So I remember you did something like screwing a nail to make it so it won't move anymore!
    My age:14 (which isn't important) Is going to fix this closet! Tomorrow actually. I can't go touching my dads stuff. But I want to fix this on my own.

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to determine where the problem is. In my case, the track was warped so driving a screw in at the top acted as a stop and prevented the door from sliding over. You can try that. Your door also might need to be raised. If that's the case, you'll need someone to lift the door a bit while you adjust the screw at the floor that adjusts the height of the door.

    • @SaritaMoreno
      @SaritaMoreno 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi How to I stop my door from sliding open on its own, after I close it? It won't stay closed

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's odd. Sounds like it might not be hung right or it might be too tight when you close it causing it to pop back open. You could try to realign it and make a minor adjustment to the top or bottom fixed corner.

    • @AlmondSummers
      @AlmondSummers 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevekonbass the maintenance guy took the door off when they put new carpet down and shaved off the bottom of the door in order to open the door and not have it drag the carpet when opening and closing it. My teen has a small bedroom 10x10 with a refular small closet with two sliding doors..Will it be worth it to swap them for blindfold doors to maximize closet space or not really? And can I install them on existing track or do blindfold doors come with its own track system? Thank u

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Marco- Bi-Fold doors would make access easier than 2 sliding doors, but wouldn't really increase or maximize space, and the bi-fold doors come with their own hardware. If your teen doesn't have a lot of hanging clothes, you might want to consider adding wire shelving for more storage space and then install the bi-fold doors.

    How do you get the door to go back in from the bottom by the floor?

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There should be something that looks like a screw at the bottom of the door that sits in a little bracket. The screw is screwed into the bottom of the door and let's you make little adjustments to raise or lower it. It should sit in a bracket. If it's out of the bracket, the door can be lifted and the screw placed in the bracket.

    Whatwhat the bracket falls out of the track? I can't get it back in the track.

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First, figure out why it fell out of the track. Look to see if the track was so warped that it didn't stay in. In any event, you'll have to get the bracket back in there. You might have to take the track down. Couldn't tell you without seeing it.

    What do I do if both sides become unattached?

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would suggest looking at the bottom if both top corners fell out. Sounds like maybe you need to adjust that bottom screw that adjusts the height.

    The problem with mine is obvious, but the pin won't retract low enough for me to put the door back in the track. How do I fix that?

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you can't get the top pin in the track the door might be too high. You can lower it a bit by adjusting the bottom pin by the floor.

      Thank you.... They all seem to be mounted in this way and are straight/ mounted well. I have no idea how one of the kids got it off the track without the wood splitting. Looks like I need to remove the bracket with the pin and reattach when it's inside the track, but that will be tricky as I need room to get a screwdriver in there?
