    our Closet doors came out a couple of months back. I had no idea about how to fix those back. Luckily I saw you this video and got idea about how to fix the doors so easily even did it. So wanted to thank you guys for uploading this video. I hope it will be helpful for other people like me.

    Don’t place the knob(s) or pulls where this installer put them. Place them toward the middle of the door where the bifold pulls toward you.

      @bororobo3805 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah. That instead lifts the door and over time could bend the door, effectively damaging it

      Ikr I hate when installers put the knob away from the middle of the door it only makes it harder to open the damn thing.

    This was a good video, much better than the written instructions BUT! You should not tap in the two pins that have springs! I did and both of them the springs no longer worked because the pins went through the bottom of the plastic pin holders. You should change your video to express how important "gentle" tapping is. I have found that putting pliers around the post where the spring is so you are just tapping the plastic holder into the pre drilled hole. The springs work well doing it this way. Thx

    Put a block under the bottom bracket BTW the floor and bracket to keep it from sagging over time.

    • @kyledewar2117
      @kyledewar2117 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our flooring installer asked us to install a 1/2" wood block where the brackets will go. Do i make it just big enough that the bracket sits on top as these are somewhat hollow because of the pin that sits inside and im assuming the carpet will go over top the wood block and ill secure bracket over carpet

    This video omits the most important part, trimming the doors. Because no doorway is never the right size and the doors will always be too large.

    • @ela1984maa2
      @ela1984maa2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I noticed this as well. In the video, when they do a close up of the bottom of the doors, you can see that they were trimmed. The rest of the video is great, but I would have liked to have seen some tips on trimming the doors.

      Do yourself a favor and resize the jamb for hinged doors. Bi-folds are junk and have a short lifespan. You will be readjusting them forever.

    • @EatY0urTV
      @EatY0urTV 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      when you pull the knob outwards, the center of the door moves outward, automatically opening the doors since the other edge of the doors are in a fixed position, but I personally prefer the knobs towards the opening side of the doors so it's more of a sliding action to open them versus pulling outwards

    After 10 minutes of horrific cursing and almost throwing the door through my window because I couldn't figure out how to get the top parts in, thank you Lord Jesus for @2:21 of this video. I have now successfully repaired my bifold door. I have a really old version that has a different lock on top that is a MAJOR pain in the ass to screw down...you'd think they would have made the lock down screw a little wider than the track but no, its about the same width so that if you screw too tight it will pop into the track and screw up everything.

    Thanks for the video. I have a closet with a regular door frame. The opening width of the closet frame is around 24 inches. I like to install the one folded door because the room door is located nearby to the closet, and if I install the door at the closet, the room door and the closet door will clash with each other. My question is, can I install a bi folder door in the regular door frame?

      Yes, but drill a clearance hole of about 20mm through the laminate before screwing down the bottom bracket so that there is a gap of 8mm all around the screw for the laminate to expand when you put the screw in.

      @SStine-si2sm 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok, I figured out why it won’t work. I have two bi-fold doors and the plate that connects them doesn’t allow enough room. My solution was to snap it in a couple of inches beyond the joint of the tracks and then use a needle nose pliers opened up to the width of the plastic part. Then I tapped on the pliers to move it over into position.

    Missing the measurements. These are key to a good installation.

    The top pivot pin has a rod with a spring that makes it seemingly impossible to tap into place. If we are supposed to be hitting that springed metal part to get the plastic sleeve to go into the hole, then I would not have described it as "gently tap." Why couldn't this video show the actual process of getting that darned piece into place.

      @@dropndeal Actually, when I switched from a light-weight hammer to a VERY heavy hammer, the pin went in smoothly. Conclusion: light taps don't get the job done.

    Door knobs goes in the center of each door by the hinges. The way that you installed it's hard to open the doors 👎

    what is an aligner .. they didnt even SAY

    • @EatY0urTV
      @EatY0urTV 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      it extends past the edge of the 2 doors to align them properly with each other (when using two doors). It just helps to guide both doors so they are aligned properly when closed.

      Agreed. Not clear what the aligned is or why its needed. Why just the left door and not both?

    The top pivot bracket is fabricated from metal that is far too thick. All the tightening in the world will not secure it to the top track. The serrated edge will not clinch the track!
