Just bought the slightly larger X14 and would recommend this brand. The X14 will accommodate all generations of the 12.9inch iPad Pro. My only concern is the platform that holds the iPad could do with having an end clamp like the GlideGear units have. Note that the X14 comes fully assembled, ready for the camera and imaging device. Note also that the remote is not included with the X14.
That teleprompter makes a great impression in front of camera but if you want to nail your presentation with natural speech and mastering proper eye contact with the viewer, present Powerpoint as software using bullet points structure!
Great Review. I need to purchase a prompter to film clients, with me handling the remote/scrolling, not them. Due to size of room, I will obviously be to the side, off camera. So I wont be able to see the lens where prompter feed is. Question - how can I see the prompter text? I'm thinking of a simple second monitor hdmi out from tablet, but that image would be flipped for client, so flipped on that hdmi output, right? Any idea if this can be done?
Simply mirror-flip your existing slides(with bullet points structure) using PPT Mirror tool for your tablet and display them in TTL( through the lens) in teleprompter is a definitive guide to giving eye contact with clients because you don't read word for word as you always have your whole concept in mind in front of camera therefore you deliver professional narration in conversational manner. (the tool works with bluetooth remote)..
So, if I understand you correctly, you're using an external monitor hooked up to a laptop with this, instead of phone or iPad. How are you scrolling the text? Is the laptop within reach? Are you using some sort of mouse with a scroll wheel?
Hi Joseph, thanks for this review 👍 - I just got the Neewer X12 myself, and it’s very good, much better than anything I would have been able to make myself! Quick question for you, do you have any idea what the two bracket arms are for that go out to the sides? They don’t really seem to have a purpose, unless maybe the idea is to flip them upside down and use them for permanently mounting the prompter to a table or something like that rather than mounting to a tripod? Any insight on these arms? Thanks! - Dave
So I guess I should have watched the Neewer video too. LoL. Apparently those brackets are intended to be cold shoe mounts for mounting accessories off the the side like Shotgun Mics / Lights, etc. Hope this helps someone else who skips the Neewer video. It’s not mentioned what those arms are for in the little manual provided.
I'd like to know the model of your desktop stand. I'm seeing this up for my wife and her space is limited so I need a desktop stand mount but not having much luck
*Hey Joseph! Thank you for nice`ly unboxing*. Did you have an idea or do you know how many weight the "phone / pad" holder can wear? I don´t have an pad and i think the phone (Galaxy s20+) is to small. But i have an 15" Laptop which i could to use. And what about the bracket? how long is it?(enought for 15" laptop?) i´m happy at your time and your Feedback! Greets Stefan from Germany
The bracket isn't big enough for 15" laptops and the keyboard portion will probably get in your way since you have to lay it flat. It isn't impossible if you just push the bracket in, and put the screen on the table or something.
S20+ should still be okay unless you are reading a ton of script. Mind you, the bigger screen you use, you are more likely to loose that 'eye contact' as you will be looking away from where the lens is.
@@pixelharmonie-webdesign ah, that makes sense. But I think it would clip in your view though. There is a fine balance between screen size / lense focal length.
Thanks for making this video, I ordered this off Amazon today, a generic version at least that was on sale but looks the same in pictures. Do you see any possibility to modify this to mount on 15mm rods, or would the unit be too heavy for that? Or mount on a light stand or monopod?
@@JosephKim Mine just came in. Seems very well built. Like a tank. One Problem I am facing right now is that I find the camera pretty low in the teleprompter and it picks up the front rails in the video. I am using a sony 16mm to 55mm without any zoom, at the moment. DId you face this same issue? Thank you in advance.
@@Ramesh_Muthusamy ah! Yeah. I put a handy quick release system on top to elevate the camera a bit further up. Also, that helps to dismount the camera quickly.
elegant teleprompter pro is 5$ AUD and is a way better option than the more expensive apps on the store and the neewer app, which is that is crap. the remote also works with the elegant app through Bluetooth
Based on my research, it should be able to. I think you are questioning about iPad pro, which has width of 8.4" and it is capable of taking width up to 8.7
@@JosephKim no. Heavy duty SUNPAK 6000PG. But there has to be some sort of a stabilizing plate when you screw your tripod into the bottom of the Teleprompter plate that has all the little holes. I put it in there and attach the tripod and it just snapped the screw off from my tripod. I think this might be a Karen or Lindsey question.
Lol, you do wanna put it in relative center of the weight, so it isn't pulling on the tripod so much. Also, you might wanna thread into 3/8" hole than 1/4", if your gear is very heavy.

What's the monitor you used for the display? The small one?
Cheers
Never mind ! I see the comment below.

There are a few camera monitors that does the flipping for you.

Hello ! Thank you for the vidéo, is it possible to film with an Iphone 15 pro... ? How is it fixed then ? :(
You can probably use C shaped phone clip to mount on it.
So, if I understand you correctly, you're using an external monitor hooked up to a laptop with this, instead of phone or iPad. How are you scrolling the text? Is the laptop within reach? Are you using some sort of mouse with a scroll wheel?
Yep, the mouse with the wheel :)
Must the device used to film be a different device than the one used as a teleprompter? I record on an iphone.
You can switch around.

They are for small lights or microphones that you would normally attach to your camera's hot shoe mount :)

This can support the weight of the iPad. It actually is designed for tablets like iPad.
Bro, Thanks for the review, can you tell, what monitor did you use for him the Teleprompter, What size it is? , Thanks
I'm currently using Andycine's monitor!
Pretty good review.... except... No tripod? Would have loved to see how the bracket thing works with a tripod.
Apologies not showing that! I basically threaded the tripod head into the bottom plate.
Hi! Thanks for the video, so useful, can you please recommend me a size of tablet for this Teleprompter. Thanks!!!
as the name entails, it is supposed to be up to 12", I think ;)
Can I use an IPad Pro 12inches for the text and an IPhone capturing the video?
Unfortunately, I says that it isn't compatible with ipad pro 12"

What was the paid software you mentioned to flip pages?
I don't recall the names, but there is a bunch depending on the platform you are in.
Can you use this without the camera mount in the event that you have a tall-ish camera like the Canon C series?
It is more crucial that the lens is right up against it. Not sure how it works with C series.
More info how to transfer verbiage I type from PC to teleprompter projector
