I see the dimensions of the sail here, I didn’t notice the length of the mast and sprit. Here or on the video where you made the mast.
Is the mast the length of the dinghy?🤔

This would be for emergency only. Constant wind flapping will shred it in a few hours.

so im pretty young 16 and new to this, im looking to make a sail for my 11 foot kayak shes sturdy so i think that if i had a keel and sail i could maybe sail around michigans many lakes but im not sure what size sail to planout any help would be appreciated

When you say canvass tarp, do you mean the the plastic stuff?

Yes, a common plastic tarp. This was the cheapest I could find that would work. But you can use any type of canvas for this application. Some may require sewing and/or stitching.
