learned that from 1979 marching band music. also called a dbled pataflafla. i like to snap them off quick 3 flim flams .. so flam tap tap flim flam tap tap flim flam tap tapl flim flam !!!... as one phrase. now i start with a right flam which means the the 3 flim flams are left handed flim flams so important to dig those out of the sand with your minds eye and high up stroking. upstroking in flams stets up the nexts first hit which is a grace note ... good job !!!!!
Right flam, left, right, left flam. Then repeat. Flams are accented, everything else is at a lesser volume. You can also refer to a rudiment sheet. I believe it's part of the original 40 rudiments.
