    Arrived at mtb centre last week to discover I had forgotten my RC shoes. Luckily my hubby had his old pair of 5/10s in the van although a size bigger, so I wore them with two pairs of socks on. The grip on the pedals was so much better than my Ride Concepts which have disappointed me somewhat because I kept losing my grip, and I put it down to user error, but you have confirmed what I thought. Additionally they didn't let water in at the first puddle as my R Cs do due to the tiny ventilation holes in the apron of the shoe. I have now decided to stick with the 5/10s in for all future rides, and may even get the ones you've demonstrated as I like the ankle protection on them too. Thanks for the video!

      Thanks for the awesome comment. It’s really hard to realize the difference the right shoe makes until to ride with them. Stoked for you! 👍🏻

    Ride concepts grip good with 2mm longer pedal pins. Mine used to bounce and lose grip until I switched to longer pins. Now they always grip.

    Great review! You to be honest I love the 5 10 impact for riding. I bought some ride concepts and Scott shoes and they are great for working from home at my office and walking around or maybe for fine dining.

      True. Those RC shoes do look sharp, but I’m lovin’ these new five tens. Thanks man 🙏🏻

    Thanks for the reviews. Is the RC rubber grippy at all? I think the elite has their grippest rubber? Price is my limiting factor. Also doing more XC/ trail riding and just now venturing into enduro style rides, so trying to find the right flat shoe for that.

    • @JaredHoff
      @JaredHoff  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve heard from people that love the RC grip. Once I rode with one shoe on each foot,,, it was easy to tell freeriders had more grip. Best budget shoe is still the original Freerider, but RC isn’t a bad shoe. Some people like them a lot.

    Good information. That’s what I was worried about I have 3 pair of five ten and grip is amazing but last year I bought a pair of ride concepts tnt mid high shoes at half price. The first few times I rode with them every time I hit a rooted or rocky section my feet would bounce off the pedals. And I have oneup aluminum pedals very grippy. I wound up selling the shoes to my friend and the first time he rode with them he commented when he hit a rocky section his feet would fall off pedals.. but I do like the mid high ankle protection and the shoes are very comfortable. Now ride concepts is having a half price sale and I’m thinking about giving them another try. I’m looking at the Powerline. But you nailed this review.👍

      I think you have to get the MTB shoes when you see a sale like that. So expensive! Thanks for the awesome comment 🤙🏻

    Been riding 5.10s for two years and the grip was very very good and hard to readjust your foot once on the flats. Just recently bought the rc accomplice and noticed it was not as sticky as the 5.10s, also my foot was bouncing off a lot. Took the rc on a few mellow rides then on the third ride I took it to some more serious trails and my foot popped off and I had to get stitches on my shin because of the pins on the flats. Should I keep the rc or go back to 5.10? Plus the rc accomplice felt really hot and tight.

    Great info sir. Does the sock material in the ankle area don't easily stretch out?

    • @JaredHoff
      @JaredHoff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It hasn’t stretched out so far, and I’m super happy with how clean it keeps my feet. Now more dirt or rocks in the shoes.
      But they are pretty expensive so they better work good 😂

      Thank you for the feedback. I’m still loving my five ten freerider pro mids. However, I know a lot of people that love the RCs.

  • @CofFDnSnaps
    @CofFDnSnaps 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You compared a low to mid. Not really a same same. You should have compared the 5.10 to the RC Wildcat. I switched from the Freerider to the RC Wildcat and the grip is just as good and its easier to reposition your foot when needed with the RC. I have not at all felt a loss of grip. Also the wildcat has laces and a velcro strap and D3O protection with awesome ankle bolsters that are very comfortable. Plus the wildcat is only $120. You compared apples to oranges here.

    • @JaredHoff
