Thank you, I found another video where they used an M12 1.75 tap. I just got back from a friend’s house who loaned me a tap so hopefully more progress tomorrow. Thanks for your video which is a great help.
Couldn’t get the M12 to start so tried a 7/16 - 20 that seemed to tap pretty good but the threads didn’t hold :( I’ll have to go buy a tapered M12 and try again.
Thats strange man. Id pull the rocker cover off and make sure a valve isnt stuck open. Ive seen that before (A shim fell out and got jammed after a backfire). I would think checking the oil while running is a coincidence.
ares has 2500hrs on it only used for power outages still run like a champ winter or summer but same generator normal maintenance is every 30hrs of use and i do faithfully and its a one start generator quacker state w30 Maybe poor maintenance on the people u got it from are is only 3yrs old with 2500hrs on it
I'm glad I've found your channel because it gives spank time a whole new meaning
Try it 2 handed!
Im currently doing a 3D model of this generator and this video is helping me a lot, you are saving my life

you my man.. never make a disapointing video! they are all the best.. in their own realm!
Thank you!
Is the center hole where you used a bolt to pull rotor after removing the stator supposed to be threaded? My Generac 7550 EXL is a smooth tube?
I can’t remember if I tapped this one or not but yeah some models have an empty hole you need to thread yourself. Talk about a cheap ass design
Got a free rs5500, previous owner checked the oil while it was running. Has low to no compression. Any thoughts?

@@spankranchgarage Will do. Appreciate the reply.
@@spankranchgarage Adjusted the valves, started on the second pull. Appreciate your insight and opinion.
Greetings, on which website do you buy parts for that generator?
I probably used Amazon. These are fairly universal and likely all clones of a similar generator.
Thanks for the tear down video!
Thanks!
Sounds better!
You didn't mention aligning the timing marks on the crank and cam on installation
I probably didn't but maybe this comment will help viewers putting theirs back together. Thank you.
Raw dogging it doesn't always pay. I've been there, just in a rush and not taking my time.
