Thanks for the video, fed my girlfriend's dog a blueberry salad once, she came home from work and started crying cuz she thought her dog was going to die. We watched your video and it saved the day. Love you
Though blueberry season is about over here, I buy your Red Rover. I use it several times a week with my black lab Cooper who has the personality of Eli and I use it on my Malinois. I also use Safe Sea and a few others. Will you have merchandise to sell? I tell everyone all the time about your products! I would like a shirt and jacket! Thank you for inspiring, Dana! You look beautiful today, too. So does Eli.🤩
I give my cavalier spaniel frozen or fresh blueberries, sometimes with a little banana- every morning. Also, it’s a little prebiotic before he eats breakfast. But first he has goats milk lol.
Im new to DN and so excited. My 70# Aussie struggles with terrible yeast issues (frito feet and "OLS" - obsessive lick syndrome lol - but not rly funny). I want to transition to a partial raw diet and Nutrical kibble w/ pea protein. Would love your input as where to begin the transition. I'm watching every video of yours that I can! Thank you so much.
Oh my goodness! The first five ingredients in Nutrical gel are Corn Syrup, Soybean Oil, Malt Syrup, Cod Liver Oil, Cane Molasses. Are you sure you want to feed that to your dog? If you want to feed some dry food, then I would look at Nature's Logic Distinction, Carna4 or Orijen if this was my dog. Your dog needs less starch and sugar.
@@DogsNaturallyMagazineDNM I apologize. The kibble is Nutrisource. My daughter picked up a puppy yesterday and the breeder rec Nutrical so that was in my head. We opted for honey infused CBD for travel day stress.
I've been giving my German Shorthair blueberries for a while now. My question is: I picked up some dehydrated organic blueberries at Costco. I hope they don't lose too much nutrition in the drying process.
Love this video on blueberries. I am just starting to make my dogs food due to her having high liver enzymes. She is a lab and is 16 years old.. do you have any recipes that would benefit her. I will def add the berries.
I used Five Leaf Pet Botanicals liver and kidney tinctures for my dog and his liver enzymes went back to normal after 1 month. You can also use Adored Beast Liver Tonic afterwards as maintenance.
I currently feed my 10 lb Chihuahua 2 frozen blueberries a day and my 16,19 and 29 lb chi Winnie 4 blueberries a day. Is this a good amount or should I be adding more ? Love your videos ❤
I have a malshipoo and to prevent a lot of tear stains, eye booger build up and stinky tears I give my 12 pounds malshipoo 7-8 good sized blueberries a day. Not sure if that’s good or bad but it definitely helps with all the above I mentioned.
For the life of me, I cannot find an answer as to how many blueberries I should give my small dog a day. She's 8 lb. There's percentages. There's rough estimates for larger dogs but nothing for a small dog. Please help!
My cavalier - 5 years old - has GERD most of the time. I give her digestive enzymes. I think she needs a lower fat food. Her food is 12% fat. It is dehydrated and has to be mixed with water . Can you recommend a canned food for her? So many choices that I get confused. I know raw is the best ... 😢 I enjoy your emails and TH-cam and appreciate all the great ideas!
12% fat is not what I'd call a lower fat diet. I would stick with the freeze-dried if it was my dog but I would find another brand with a lower fat content. Smallbatch is an excellent food.
I give my dog Adored Beast Healthy Gut digestive enzymes and a little bit of apple cider vinegar in his food. He doesn’t have GERD. I had GERD myself and took Protonix for 10 years. My naturopathic doctor gave me betaine HCL to increase my stomach acid. If I have an occasional flare up, I take apple cider vinegar. Watch Dr. Berg for a better explanation on why you need to add more acid to treat GERD.
What if you're feeding blueberry to a small dog not that I am I'm just making something with blueberries in it so I want to make sure in case I spill that it's safe for him to have one or two
I had questions that was really important about your yeast diet recipe sadly someone deleted it.. SMH well Here’s the second part can someone please reply to me I would really really really appreciate it. So I found this website Four Leaf Rover; a lot of TH-camrs recommend, but i don’t know if that just means it’s paid promotion :( well so far I was going to get there RED ROVER because I believe it’s a prebiotic I’m not 100% sure, but I was also getting there GUT GUARD, PROTECT, YEAST GURAD, DIGEST, BONE MEAL and SEA SAFE. Can I add all those things to your yeast diet recipe ?? Or would that be too much ❓❓ Also I was going to get coconut oil, neem oil hemp oil and Oregano oil; either mix them together and rub it on certain areas of the dogs or use one at a time… I’m also going to make a ACV spray mix with green tea, lavender oil Wash them with selsun blue shampoo Maybe put canned sardines in the food ( but not too sure if I am) Maybe put hemp oil in food Would this work for a healthy gut/ leaky gut ? Or would this be too much please give me your thoughts… I would love to know your thoughts and recommendations
Hey Bigz! Four Leaf Rover is a great company - I would say that because I own it LOL. Most of our products are formulated by holistic veterinarian, Dr Patricia Jordan. You can use these products to make the yeast diet, but you don't need them all. Start with the Yeaast-Free Fido kit (you'll save 20% if you buy the Yeast Guard, Gut Guard and Digest in a kit). To make the yeast recipe, you can certainly use the Bone Meal and Safe-Sea - and you can use either Red Rover or fresh berries. You'll also get prebiotics/polyphenols from the Digest. A GREAT anti-yeast spray is Vetricyn. I think it's prescription only but you may be able to buy it online. It's just hypochlorous acid, which is a natural substance made by immune cells to kill yeast and bacteria. But you can certainly make your own too! But don't put the hemp oil in the food because there's already Ahiflower in the Safe-Sea. Here's a link to the Yeast-Free Fido: fourleafrover.com/products/yeast-free-fido
oooooo wow I had absolutely no clue you guys was the owners . So yes I already placed my order and got the Fido kit plus the bone meal, red rover, safe sea and protect :) so basically you saying I can add everything to the recipe but leave out the Protect. Being that digest already has probiotic. I believe that’s what you’re saying … I wanted to make sure they’re getting prebiotic as well… is red rover providing the prebiotic or should I buy some prebiotic ? One last thing if I want to make 10 pounds of the recipe do I basically times 10 the recipe so instead of two eggs I will need 20?? Sorry about all these questions
@@Kenken77733 You can make 10 pounds of the recipe at once - just multiply all of the ingredients by 10. You'll want to run through the Yeast kit for 30-60 days, and then switch to Protect afterward. You can give this long term, but the Gut Guard shouldn't be given for more than 60 days without a break. Best of luck!
My malshipoo was the same. I cut up his favorite snack and mix it with the blueberries and he eats it all. I chop it smaller than dice size for both treats and blueberries. He eats it at least once a day. Never misses it more than one day if I forget. It became his daily midday snack.
What if you give your pup a lot of blueberries? We make our own homemade food and add a whole bag of frozen blueberries to get our like 22 freezer portion bags. Are there any side effects of feeding lots of blueberries? (We try and make their food equal veggies to meats with added fruit and spices)

I make a blueberry detox smoothie for myself every day and at the same time I put some berries into my puppy's food
I do the same! But now I’ve started giving them blueberries every day.
Great idea!
thank you for another super-informative and helpful video!
You are so welcome!
Valuable information thanks! Your Lab is magnificent! He is beautiful!
This video has made my day. Eli is precious ❤. He sure does love you. You make the most enjoyable vidoes.🫐

I've been giving my German Shorthair blueberries for a while now. My question is: I picked up some dehydrated organic blueberries at Costco. I hope they don't lose too much nutrition in the drying process.
Dehydrated will lose a reasonable amount of their polyphenols but they're still better than nothing!
I buy frozen organic wild blueberries from Trader Joe’s.

Is 1/4 cup of blueberries every day sufficient for a 75 lb dog? I give my Rottie a 1/4 cup daily.
That's plenty!
my standard poodles just refuse to eat blueberries, or vegetables, no matter how I try to disguise them.....
That's too bad! Picky little critter. :)
I think they're just too carnivores for eating fruits, some dogs are like that

Do frozen blueberries lose a lot of their polyphenols?
No! Frozen blueberries are fine :)

Are there any side effects of feeding lots of blueberries? (We try and make their food equal veggies to meats with added fruit and spices)
Probably just blue poo. :) But I wouldn't give them as more than 5% than the diet.
