    That breaks my heart, that the trolls were able to hurt you so badly you deleted your work.. oh, Mikey. It's such a shame!
    I was a Newby chrcrocheter in 2015, and LOVED doing your first mystery crochet along. And I'm about ready to find my squares, and your videos and finish my afghan Bless your heart ❤

    My Grandfather was a wood worker at home. He cut out a round circle and put large nails on the circle and cut the points of the nails off and that was my first loom.

    I am new to crocheting and I don't knit (yet). I really enjoyed this tutorial and your style. You made it look easy. I don't know what was said to you back in 2009, and I don't care. I'm just glad you decided to put together this tutorial so newbies like me can learn. Thank you. If I could give you 2 thumbs up, I would.

    I've just recently started using a loom to knit and I've only made a couple of hats. I love the idea of turning it upside down and using the weight of my arm to pull the bottom loop over the top. That's been my biggest struggle - getting that first one started. Thanks! God Bless!!!!

    Why in the world did i not think of a Cricut weeding too?!?! So much more comfortable than the hook they come with! I will say, i've watched countless pattern videos (i'm a beginner) and you are the easist to watch ever! Yes, being new i need lots of detail, however, It's hard to keep me engaged. I love love love your teaching style! I need more! Also, you sir need to write your own pattern book! You are a great teacher and great at explaining with out making me feel like an idiot!! ❤❤

    As your usual, a very nice and fun video. I like how you use different discriptions to teach techniques. I do the same thing so the listener can get a different perspective of what is being taught. Yes, I have people complain but for the majority, they appreciate that extra time to illustrate the idea. Yes, people are brutal in their comments because they can be and not get held responsible. Its very hurtful but there you are, some people enjoy being cruel. We can't change that, no matter how nice we are so I just do what I do and they can just go their way. I love your style, you make everything doable and after watching this I feel I can tackle anything with loom knitting even though I've never done it before. Thank you, and please continue doing what you do and I will continue watching.

    Mikey, I use straws and cut them small about 2" eaches. If I have a bigger or smaller space in between the pegs I would change to a larger or small straw. Also, my experience is not to have a tall guide, it puts more strain on the yarn. It just goes much faster since I don't have to worry about my guide because it goes in between each peg supper.

    Hi Mikey I remember the original loom knit Christmas socking video. Can I use red heart yarn super saver yarn when making the stocking using 2 strands of yarn as one. Then just use the same color yarn instead of changing the colors of the yarn for making the stocking? Also while watching this video I was thinking my dad and older brother wears 13 size shoes would this be idea loom size when making socks. I've never made socks at all. Just something that popped into my head as I was watching. This would work to make a pair of socks for my dad and brother with them wearing very big shoes.

    Mikey I have always loved all your work I follow everything you do, my question tho is how do you go about changing colour for the heel, i.e do I cut and tie and join new colour or ????

    • @hook722

      I was wondering the same and if I want the toe to match the heel, when do I change that color?

    • @kimberlycarman09
      @kimberlycarman09 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m in the same boat. I understand to stop 7 pegs before and then knit the final stitch but where do we attach the new heel color? My assumption is to start it a the 7 peg prior and leave me with 2 rows to pull over like we did with the brim. Does that make sense? Is that how to do it? I’m extremely new to knitting

  • @jenniferpickard1559
    @jenniferpickard1559 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Question
    Your loom has 24 pegs and mine had 31.
    My heel didn’t turn as great as yours, I’m thinking that’s why. Do u always do half the amount of pegs to go bAck and forth with? I noticed u did 13,
    So I should have done 15 or 16?
    Sorry I’m a newbie.
    Really loved the outcome

    • @tmccord630
      @tmccord630 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m wondering the same thing. I thought you did 14 for the heel, which would be about 62%. So that would be 19 on a 30 peg loom, right? And I was also wondering if I should increase the length of the body before I start the heel. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’m planning on making stockings for my kiddos for Christmas.

    Also one last question 😐 if we’re supposed to be using a slip knot for the loom then what’s the side peg for?

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just to hold the yarn to wrap in case you don't want to do a slip knot but you risk the project unravelling if you don't secure it. Using a slip knot on the peg will secure it immediately.if you slip knot the side peg, you will have to undo it and the project won't grow out.
