    You’ve done it again Denise! Everybody’s always complaining that I have these bags underneath the kitchen sink. I couldn’t figure out where to put them when it’s been over 10 years. But you came up with this fabulous idea and now everybody’s going to get this drawstring bag holder so they can’t complain about me. Thank you again darlin you’ve done it again honey

    I love making bag holders. I do a garter stitch for the first few rows and the last few rows and I do a basket weave for the body or a knit for body. They make great house warming gifts and craft fair sellers.

    Working on this one now. It’s so easy to understand!! Your videos are one of my top go-to’s for several reasons.... ease of understanding because you explain and demonstrate so well; cuteness because I like your style, colors and yarn choices; and usable and gift worthy results!! Just wanted to say thanks!!

    Another fun project Denise!! You know I will knit this up!! A couple points...I have made these types of holders and covers in different ways and stitches. With elastic or pony tail band (can knit over peg & ponytail band) or without, either way tips are: Use cotton yarn, can be cotton blend as well especially if using for umbrella cover, add drawstring pull from i-cord(weave in and out either 1 way or 2 if 2 just weave each i-cord from opposite directions, meeting at the same side able to draw strings together). Last tip when stuffing bags take 2 min to half fold each bag into the next then roll them and stuff into holder which causes the bags to pull down the next bag at the ready for the next one needed. We'll worth the 2 min as if you do not you may have to get up into your holder to fetch and bring down next bag. Hope this makes sense. 🙏 💞💞🧶💞🧶

    This is a great project and gift idea. Made one and came out perfect. Decided I needed a bigger one so know I'm making one on my 31 peg loom. Was not sure how that was going to work because after I started I realized this is not an even loom .😱. So far it's going fine. Will be back to tell you if the stitch is different 🤔
    So it's working out fine on 31 peg..I thought it would be something different in the end but it's the same.
    Someone mentioned using cotton. I have some roap that is the thickness of a 4ply yarn that is really great for these kind of projects. Works well on the loom have tried it.
    Anyway loving this ...

    This is the closest pattern I have found for what I want to make (although I think I will be making this bag holder too) I want to make a pillow in this shape. I have an odd couch that is missing it's original pillows that went at either end and a cylinder shaped pillow will work well. So, I'm going to make it larger (50 pegs) than this pattern but I plan to do the same stitches you used. My question is, at either end where you U-Knitted, I want to draw them closed so I'm guessing I need to do more rows of U-Knit, Would you agree? I probably have to do a sample to see what my diameter will be so I know how much U-Knit.

    • @LoomaHat

      You can but you should practice the drawstring c/o. It’s a great technique to know and will come in handy for many other projects.

    What kind or weight yarn do you use? I started this project but it looked weird and I stopped cause I think my yarn was too thin. There was a link in the description for yarn but it just took you to all the yarn on Amazon. If anyone could help that would be great. I want to do this one but with the right yarn. Thank you.

    Can you please show us how to count the rows on an almost finished project ? I didn’t keep track and don’t know how many I’ve done already😳

    • @ArDeeMee
      @ArDeeMee 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You look at the right side and count. Use some scrap yarn to mark every tenth row. And next time you do that from the start, marking every 5 or 10 rows, or how many else make the most sense for you. I have the little plastic clip stitch markers, but you could use scrap yarn, hair pins or whatever you have lying around that won‘t break the yarn and can be removed after you‘re finished. Practice makes perfect. ;)

      Plastic bags truly are bad for the environment. I'm hoping this project gives each bag a second chance at being useful.

    Many stores here in Canada have stopped using plastic bags. What else can this be used for? Edit: Sorry, I just can't do this. The loops get so tight that it hurts my hands and fingers. I guess I have to stay with crochet and Tunisian crochet.
