- I DRIVE the ULTIMATE Abarth 695 biposto with the dog ring box as it was handed to me by Abarth to drive hard around a race track! The Dog ring gearbox is an incredible driving experience and when coupled with the abarth 695 bipostos acceleration, exhaust sound and of course the gearbox itself. In my opinions this is the ultimate 500. I hope you enjoy my review of the £8500 optional extra for the biposto and that dog ring gearbox feel came across in the video.

I think this one option really shows Abarth off well as a brand. I would argue that 99% of "mainstream" brands would not even remotely consider offering this as an option.
The fact that it's even available is really rather remarkable.

General reviews for this transmission are not that great especially for the price, however you tackle it from a different perspective and it’s a breath of fresh air. A track is the place for this gearbox and it’s obviously pretty tidy.

In the 90's we used to rev match and not use the clutch on our hot hatches. I like this bipisto great hot hatch, Clio Williams would be very close. 👌

How would you say it compares to the CAE Ultra Shifter?
The CAE is SO quick and snappy, I can't imagine a shorter throw ahaha.
Looks amazing tho, and I love the sound. The fact you can change gears without clutching is pretty damn cool.
When I can I get CAE for less than 1k USD, it'd be hard to go for the Dog box over the CAE.
For a road car CAE is fine. Race and track you can’t beat the dog box. Clutch less changes, race car feel, that clunky feel when changing and it can take a lot of abuse lol!

Stef another awesome video, sorry to keep asking you but are you still shooting your B Roll on the SL2? I cant get mine looking as good as this so if you are using the SL2 would love to see a video of how you produce your videos. Oh and the way, I quite often change up on my Subaru Legacy Estate without using the clutch, it all in the wrist action #nodogboxrequired lol
It’s all still on the SL2. Filmed in flat colour profile to make it easier to colour grade in post production. The cinematic sequences take a while to colour grade lol. Most to what you see is al achieved in post production. I use a 10-18mm wide angle lens too

I was looking to buy one then i found one in melbourne and its $80k aud but sold after few weeks then i found another in sydney with dog ring, its $90k. Very expensive car.
