- In this video, I’ll be showing you how to make working ships in Minecraft, along with planes, airships, and more with the Eureka! Ships! addon for the Valkyrian Skies mod. This working ships minecraft mod is easily my favorite mod of all time.

This mod makes me remember the good old times of Archimedes' ships mod. Those were truly good times
it's actually designed to be a modern interpretation of the Archimedes' ship mod iirc
Im still blown away that you can stand AND build on it while the ship is an entity, we were never able to do that with archimedes
@@cockulatorofficial9453 it's part of why I love valkyrien skies. It works so well with physics. That's part of why I use the create add-ons when I can, because it makes building contraptions so much easier

Archimedes ships was super stable, so I’m hesitant to touch anything else.
Is no one going to talk about how incredibly well he has coded this mod? Being able to do redstone and interact with blocks on a moving entity?! That's insane
the mod projects a copy of the build where you assembled it and makes a copy of it WAY beyond the border, which allows you to change the ship however you want without dissassembling it. (i found out from glitches lol)

@@netherwarrior6113 oh no i meant hand to hand combat, because i really like naval combat on this game. Maybe i'm just bad at hand to hand combat but i really struggle to grasp the mechanics of it idk. It feels flimsy for me
Minecraft has always been a perfect fit for ships. Some of my favorite Minecraft memories are exploring the coastlines

The most incredible thing to me is that you can still build on it while it’s an entity. Not even the create mod does that! That’s insane!
And the dev team for this went back and made a mod that allowed building on trains in create so that's pretty cool

Yeah they already have shipwrecks they should have npc ships full of pillagers that raid your base if it’s near water

@@funnymonkey3961Well the whole mod is a wee bit ridiculous in multiplayer. I built a massive battleship which also serves as a massive, practically indestructible base. If under attack, it can just flee at high speed.
Unless you're doing some kind of roleplay, everyone is going to build something massive and then the fun would be ruined.
I would agree if the world generation was more realistic to have continents
Funny, the game Vintage Story is likely going to have buildable ships as part of its next major update.

Hey thanks for this video on a mod I've been waiting to find a mod like this.
I dont care if people will think this is cringe, but seeing this type of mod work with later editions is legitimately gonna make me cry. I have always adored sailing ships and airships and I used to build airships in minecraft all the time and honestly still do. Watching youtubers fly around on their own little aircraft always brought me so much joy and I'd dream of having that kinda fun experience with friends, but was always disappointed when I saw that all the mods only worked on older versions. This showcase genuinely has brought me so much excitement and I cant wait to try it out myself! I finally get to bring the builds my 13 year old self created a decade ago! :D
Same dude. No it’s not cringe. For me moveable anything was the dream. Caravan, plane, ships etc. If they add more things to discover in Minecraft world my dream would come true.

Reminds me of the old moving boat mods. Think I watched a “tutorial/review” from Robbaz? Been so long, and I can’t wait to install this in my game
Man..I really love this mod. Combine this with
• Terrallith: make sea deeper, add trench, river goes to the sea, etc
• Continents: make the world generation a bunch of continents and archipelago separate by a big ocean instead of one big continent
• End Remastered + Explorer Compass: Instead of collect 12 same ender eyes to create end portal, you have to find some variety ender eyes spread across different biomes and structures, with help explorer compass. This create purpose to my journey, not just mindlessly wandering off.
Last add bunch dungeons, structures, villages and mobs mods to make the world more dynamic and diverse. now different island will have different adventure. basically, it just becomes One Piece's story line😂

@@Ro11enYT just do it in vacation time and im all in, we just need to ad cannons and flintlocks to this, and maybe a grappling hook to swing between ships, i tried it and it works, its a little weird but it works, and i would remove the engines, we really need this mod to have changing speeds depending on weight, sails and wind like that old mod i dont remember the name but thats a lot to ask, just put cannons in those things

i have know about this mod for a while (and i am using it for a project) and in my opinion, its one of the coolest mods out there, even though its a little buggy (dont disassemble ships above build height lol)

It's cool, But I would like to expand the oceans by several tens of thousands of blocks so that it would be more atmospheric to travel and immerse yourself in the life of a sailor traveling across the ocean.

this would be really cool in a modpack where the land is soo hostile you have to live in your airship.. then you can fly around gathering resources upgrading your aircraft to go faster or consume less fuel... imagine having automated farms on the ship producing fuel and baloons would be fun.
a potential addon for this would be to make these ships go to space,baisically what you would have to do is bring this aircraft entity into an another dimension and have it have unique physics rules per dimension, so maybe an airship works on earth but it needs different meants of staying in the air when on mars for example.

Really cool, turns out that for the longest time the only way we were able to reach the north pole was by air ships like these.
I used to download bunch of mods and pirates of the caribbean maps. This was one of the two major mods carrying the game.

When a friend tried to asemble the ship our whole village became a part of the boat. It got lifted in the air becuase of the roads we made between our harbor and houses.

seems kind of op. like it should significantly slower in the air so that smth like elytra doesnt seem weak in comparison, with lots more engines required to make it fast
How do you mean?
The Elytra is great for quick movements, going long distance if you have the fireworks to keep it up.
A full-blown ship is unwieldy. If you want to quickly fly from one area of your base, or a separate building, to another, then the Elytra can do it super easily and fast, where the ship would need to be steered and flown over.
They control like tanks, you can't strafe in any way, and turning is limited in speed, regardless of engines.
The benefit of ships, I find, is for long-term travel. If you're exploring the world, or want to transport a lot of materials, a ship is your best bet. You can fill it up with chests, have farms, sleep, all safely on board your ship, making it a perfect mobile base.
You can also go way, _way_ faster with an Elytra. There seems to be some sort of speed cap on ships, so you can add as many engines as you want, it won't go faster than a set max.
It may look fast on the video, but that's just a perspective trick. When you actually play with it, the ships are many many times slower than a properly-handled Elytra.

Just make sure u need extra floaters if you dont want to make ur ship sunk easily lol.

It's important to note that, due to legal reasons, the physics mod was forced to provide the pro version for free.
They do make an effort to obscure that, though. The only direct indication of this is the fact that the links aren't locked behind a patreon tier.

This looks like a more sophisticated version of the Flaoter on the Potato April Fools update.
To make this mod more "balanced" I'd make a fuel for it so that its power is finite.
Like Coal, Redstone, WindCharges as fuels and The Wheel itself being uncraftable and only obtainable in a shipwreck or from Wandering Trader.
You need fuel for the engine, which let's the ship go faster. Otherwise it just goes the same speed as the base-game boat

@@blazelazin5752 coal. Not sure the exact usage rates, but it burns continuously - so long as there's coal burning, you get a speed boost. And you can put more engines for more speed
@@cbaltmackie2021 hmm i see, I think that's still underbalanced imo if I want to make this mod a bit more minecrafty.
Here's my idea: U need multiple kinds of fuel, Coal/Redstone-for engine to activate and Wind Charges-to move the ship.
The duration....I'm not sure but The Coal(Redstone) would burn out as usual and maybe it would burn out much faster for Windcharges.
Basically, U need 2(3) fuels running at the same time.
A bit complicated Ik but it my idea to make the mod more "balanced".
I'm pretty sure CreateVS: clockwork makes it so that vehicles need power like steam engines
Something tells me this may work better than an elytra in terms of how broken the elytra is, it's just fantasy enough for Minecraft, but also feels vanilla
If you fully drain out a shipwreck you can actually oparate it with this mod
What shaders did you use?
Built a massive ship in a world, sailed it out into the ocean. Saved and exited, loaded back in later and the ship wasn't there, I am just in the water with no ship. Did it irrecoverably disappear? Or perhaps did it teleport somewhere predictable? How can I prevent this in the future? Do I need to disassemble every time I'm done using it?
when I try this mod setup I crash every time. Any advice?

I’m having a problem with this mod which it when the hit boxes of two ships collide they both get stuck and can no longer move or turn and I don’t know how to get it unstuck
