  • Hey Everyone! Always remember to review your American Red Cross packet while watching these videos. If you haven't read the packet yet please do so because it explains what the evaluators are expecting to see, and it also answer a lot of questions you may have for the state test.

    Not taking a course through the Red Cross, but the skills in these videos are performed about as we're required to do them in my state, so they're still a big help. There are a lot of videos out there that neglect to cover certain things - seemingly small, but crucial to safety and hygiene. I'd fail my skills test, if I performed the skills as they do. No offense to them, just facts. Though, your guys' videos are extra thorough. Thank you!

    Do we start the skill itself same way if according to the scenario patient is in lateral position already? I believe we don't need to turn her on her back to start the skill? Is it correct?

    These videos are so helpful! Thank you for posting them. I had a question about verbalizing certain things or pretending. In the testing setting, will they have us use real water etc for brushing dentures and giving bed baths? Thanks so much.

      @sacmedtrainingvideotutoria6408  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Crystal S Hi Crystal. So if you are testing out of California with the American Red Cross you will not be using any real water for any of skills except for the actual hand washing skill. So just how you see it in the videos is how it will be for the state test. A lot of verbalizing that you've gotten water, or verbalizing closing the curtain. Some test sites do not have a curtain so get in the habit of verbalizing / emphasizing things during your state test because if you didn't verbalize it, you never didn't it in the eyes of the evaluator.

      +SacMed Training Video Tutorials Great, thanks for the response. For glove changes, should we verbalize that as well or actually do them? Also will you be posting the rest of the skills? I'll be taking my test soon with ARC, so nervous!

    • @sacmedtrainingvideotutoria6408
      @sacmedtrainingvideotutoria6408  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Crystal, For glove changes it depends. Some students have gotten evaluators that requested students to do the glove changes, and other students have gotten evaluators that have told them to verbalize glove changes at the appropriate times. The evaluators will tell you what they are expecting to see you do or you can always ask them before you perform the skill if they would like you to do the glove changes. I hoping to be able to post the 2 skills that involve using the gait belt by tuesday night.

    Do you have to close the curtain or door when brushing the dentures? In other skills you have to do it, but in this one you are not really doing anything on the resident`, so I'm confused.
