** Update: Generate Image is now in the official Photoshop release os of July 2024. Here are some of the images I've created with Generate Image: th-cam.com/users/shortsXfiL-QyquMY Adobe has added its latest generative AI features to the Photoshop beta. And in this video, we look at the new Generate Image feature that lets you generate entire images from scratch directly in Photoshop using Adobe Firefly and its new Firefly Image 3 model for better quality and higher resolution. Generate Image is basically the text-to-image module from the Adobe Firefly website but now embedded in Photoshop, and it brings over most of the same features including the options to match the style of a reference image and add style effects. Let me know in the comments if you've been using Generate Image and what you think of it. I hope this video is helpful!
What can you use this new A.I. feature for? Also, I practiced the gold text in photo shop twice. The second came out better but I need more practice. Thanks. P.S. I write down instructions cause I have selective memory. Also. I have the latest photo shop, so how do I know if I have the A.I. version?
@@markmunroe-hz8rf Hi Mark. The new AI features are currently only available in the Photoshop beta, which is separate from the official Photoshop release. But as long as you have a Photoshop or Creative Cloud subscription, you can install the Photoshop beta from the Creative Cloud Desktop app. I show you how at the beginning of the video.
Hey I have a question?? If you could help. I have a super high resolution image. And want to resize it to a super small size. But I have try so many ways to save it. But when saved it because very pixelated. How to do it the right way. Thank you & much success
Good evebing Sir. I have been learning from your videos. It helped me greatly, the way you do your tutorials even a newbie like me oblivious to this industry is learning. I woukd like to ask some help. How can i print 4 A4 sizes from one image. I have been following your cropping tips but to no avail since there are many things to consider such as margins since my printer can not do borderless.
Is there any additional cost to using the beta version, or how many credits for creating Generate Images. How many images can you create in Generate Image in beta. Once this is out of Beta, I hear Photoshop will offer two different pay levels, with and without Generate Images or was it so many credits with a higher pay version? Also is this limited to 1080 x 1080 pixels images so far? Is higher resolution available yet like 3000 x 3000 pixel? Just curious on the limits to image size and any added costs.
Great questions! The beta is included with your Creative Cloud subscription, so no additional cost. Just install it using the Creative Cloud Desktop app (as shown in the video). Generate Image lets you create as many images as you like. No limits. It uses the new Firefly Image 3 model with a resolution of 2048 x 2048 pixels (big jump!). I have the Creative Cloud "All Apps" plan which "officially" gives you 1000 credits per month, but for now nothing happens when they run out. You can just keep generating images as if you still had credits (which is good since so many results end up being duds). Not sure if that applies to other plans or if/when Adobe will start enforcing credit limits.
@@PhotoshopEssentialsChannel I am glad they increased the resolution to 2048px instead of previous 1024px. I could use this to build thumbnails for content for TH-cam and add my face in it as well. I see some creators are making AI thumbnails. I will check out the new Beta version of PS. 2048px is great, as I could increase the resolution of the image afterwards in PS, if needed.
Sorry, I replied and then realized I misunderstood the question. If you're asking if you can apply the style from one image to another existing image, unfortunately the answer is no. You need to generate a new image to apply the style.
Awesome video! I've been playing with AI for a while now but I can't seem to get the result I want. In a nutshell, I am trying to get ps to generate an image that I can use as part of a merch design, without backgrounds, usually cartoonist, illustration style. Have you attempted to get these results? If so, could you give me some pointers? Maybe an example? Thanks so much Steve. You know I'm a huge fan :)
From my experience with Firefly, the only way to get specific results is to use a reference image with your prompt. Otherwise you’ll pull your hair out using prompts alone. The reference images included with Photoshop are fun to play with, but if you can find an image that looks similar to what you need, use it as the reference image. Your results will improve 100%.
It seems that for now Adobe is not limiting the number of images, at least not for Creative Cloud subscribers. Adobe may start enforcing limits in the future but I've used up all of my monthly generative credits and was able to keep generating more images without any issues.
The prompt was very simple, "A closeup portrait of a woman". It was the style reference image I used that made the image look the way it does. Reference images make all the difference.
That was good information and I had a go. I didn't find the results to be good as it didn't seem to want to recognise my style after putting in a reference picture. I have done quite a bit of work in Midjourney and get great results there with regard to style and pictures, although it can be painful though, it puts legs on backwards or not at all, same with fingers. It can be frustrating when you're getting the pictures you want, but those things spoil it and make them unusable.
Sorry for the late reply. AI can definitely be frustrating. You really need to keep at it, keep trying, to get the result you need. Midjourney just released its image editor, though, and it's great for fixing up problem areas.
I think people will always enjoy taking photos. But AI will make it a lot harder to earn money taking photos. Whether we like it or not, AI is coming for all creative fields. The other day I was playing around with a new AI music generator and thought "Well, there goes the music industry". It's someone else's world and we're just living in it. :)

Are you updating the beta? And did you click the Check for Updates button? If so, try logging out, closing the Creative Cloud Desktop app, then re-open it and sign back in.
If you want to upscale your Firefly images to 10K today, and you're willing to pay for the privilege, check out Magnific. The results are unbelievable. But it does cost $$$ to use.
It's too bad this update broke using Photoshop Generative AI to stylize images. Not being able to convert between versions or styles without generating a whole new images makes this a bit useless and the neural filter style transfer doesn't compare.

Hoping somebody can help me, even from the comment section people. I am just at loss with no mentor, experience, and lack of knowledge.
Thank you so much for your tutorials and TH-cam videos. I have one request. Please make a tutorial on Artboard.

I don't have generative image in Firefly, how to get it?

You should add the word Beta in your title so we don’t waste our time.
Do you not like the beta? Personally I use it at least as much as the official Photoshop release, just to try out all the new features.
@@PhotoshopEssentialsChannel no beta versions for me.
