Honestly, one of your best👏🏻
Hey dude, you're looking like you're gaining a bit of weight. As someone who just went through something very similar recently, and I recently lost my best friend in February due to it (not to say you're that bad or anything), I urge you to bite the bullet and work on it. If I can do it, you can too.
this tutorial was so detailed and comprehensive! i’m so excited to use firefly and create mockups
This is great for webdesign and online ads because most of time we work with zero budget for this kinda of art and have to use sobpar options in image banks. This give the art director way more input than just search in those dreadful image banks.
Really awesome, was wondering why Firefly could not be part of Photoshop and now it is here.
I really liked ur desk step..
Very cool tool
1st🥇
I really love your optimistic thoughts how AI and graphic design could collectively work together, which is amazing.❤️
:D
Yet, extremely naive 😂
I did all process but i can get final result as u did.
감사합니다
Thrilled from the get go! Thanks
how did you upload your letter into the software?
Hello will! i couldn't stop looking at the doodle painting behind you, how its called that type of art?
I have followed the same but I have found prompt result not at the structure
I have the same problem... My Letter did not create like a latter... Do you solved your problem?
I have a design presentation coming up soon and I love how this video got me so motivated. It’s a tool that we have a hand to control, it might not be perfect but it does help to save a lot of time.
Wait til it replaces you. You’ll be really thrilled then. Literally just saw a video where a poor designer is now frantically job hunting because his company replaced him with AI. He was with them for 7 or so years and they fed his work into a machine to make him redundant
@@NomadicSims Saw the same video.
A tool is incomplete without you, AI is more than complete without you, so AI is not a tool but a replacement for, well, YOU.
I used this method one a logo that has more letters (about 10) and it seems to struggle a bit, its definitley not as clean, it tries to do both logo and background
Hi i keep watching all these videos and do exactly step by step the same and never get Firefly to do the structure i asked about. many of my colleagues tried as well.
What seems to be the problem?
Me too.I don't know what to do.
Same here, added a simple structure, set everything like Will and it didn't do much :S
I don't know why , but I tried doing this many many times and it doesn't work at all so I thought it doesn't understand what I want to do , so I did this exact same "a" and slime ball and it didn't work either , it just put the "a" in front of the ball , anyone know why this happens ?
same happened with me :(
I use photoshop how can I get this done?
V3 is really good...have been using v2 for while, too poor, but v3 isn't similar to what mid journey deliver us.
Fab video and this is exactly what I have been playing with this week. I absolutely love it! I would add one more step though. Take the image back into Illustrator and use the Mockup > Make tool for more curvy surfaces. There's definitely a skill in writing the prompts too, quite the Adobe Credit eater! Taking sketches into Firefly and creating 3D characters is also amazing. Just oodles of fun!
1:09 is tihs a font?
why doesn't it work for me? I have followed all your instructions in the video. but when finalizing changing the font to reference style, it didn't work out in the font I wanted :( help...
same :(
Yes its a fake video
I like this approach to using ai. Not an outright replacement for more advanced tools with more control. Like any other tool, it depends on the restraint of the artist. You "Could" design everything 100% with ai but it's not wise in the long run.
I do disagree with words like "realistic" and "excitement" being used to sell this tho. On further inspection the images still have an uncanny-valley feeling, and it's not as if it makes the artwork "Better". Wish people trying to sell ai would just calm down a bit.
i followed the same steps buy everytime i generate its showing me the same green slime ball
I’m going to work out a fix - others are having the same issue.
Thanks for the tutorial!!!
You're welcome!
@@willpatersondesign Awesome!!!
Oh yes, please, more videos about Adobe Firefly🔥
It doesn't replace the graphic designer (until it's made so simple that our clients can use it themselves don't forget) but what about all the professional photographers, lettering artists and 3d artists who's work was used as learning models to teach these AI engines to do what we want? What about their careers? Whether you like it or not it's coming for us!
Just saw a video where a graphic designer lost his job due to being replaced by AI, a model that was trained by the designer unwittingly. It is actively replacing us, and its so sad. Poor dude is now having to hope he can get a new position after 7 years or so at that firm all because a computer is now able to do our jobs cheaper
@@NomadicSims If you are a graphic designer who can be completely replaced by AI, you are a pretty bad graphic designer tbh.
Please link the video you mentioned, because I am working in graphic design for many years and AI is not even close to touch my job. All it does is speeding up my workflow, but its still years or decades away to do what a real human is capable of. Until then we got enough time to adapt and find our niche. Even though AI is one if not THE biggest thing in human history ever, it is normal that jobs get replaced (industrial evolution etc etc). The positives that AI brings outweighs the negative a LOT, if people learn how to use it correctly.
@@reuterss306 i think you are possibly the most naive human being I have ever spoken to, and also have a massive ego to boot. I would never work with someone like you and your work is probably uninspired and basic because i doubt you take criticism well. Critically think for two seconds. Look at how swiftly AI images have developed in the last YEAR. Its insanity. They have gotten good, good enough to fool a huge portion of the population and is only being worked on harder. In the next year, designers will absolutely be replaceable by AI. And they will be, because its cheaper for companies to tell a computer to do it instead. If you cant see that, there is no hope for you lol
@@NomadicSimsI don’t believe you.
@@techtipsuk so go watch the video that talks about it. Or don’t critically think lol be naive forever if thats more comfy for you
The tool did not generate what is on the video
it worked. be sure you export your letter as jpeg format. If its still doesn't work inflate it in illustrator then export it again as jpeg
yes its a fake video
Hopefully adobe will give Firefly the ability to control resolution soon.
I have tried to replicate what you've done. Somehow it didn't work. I saw you were still using the "green slime ball ...." prompt, and I have moved the visual intensity slider to the least and reference strength to maximum, and I used black M letter with the same proportion, the result was still a ball. I don't how you do it.
I tried to recreate it with your 'a' font, and it works. 😂
I was here yesterday looking for this tutorial 🎉🎉🎉
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@willpatersondesign Sure. So much value. Thank you for sharing.
Firefly broken not working as intended used, all by credits and the furry ball appeared in the background ignoring the white background prompt is ignored and making the structure reference a a pain solid shape.
Adobe makes you agree that the results are not for commercial purposes so the information at 11:00 feels a bit misleading.
🙌🏻
And this is only the beginning. This will change everything. Thank god I retire in 3 years...
Yeah
AI software will take over most jobs
Congratulations on your planned retirement! I’m jealous you wont see the financial end of artists and designers getting paid for work. He says he wont be replaced but that is incredibly naive, especially with how AI had developed the last year alone.
It will change some things. Most people have no desire to mess with this and will be happy to outsource their graphics regardless.
@@Leadership_matters Or, they actually won't and there'll be a plethora of derivative guff by simply voice-prompting "Can you make an image of that looks like ."
Having had the "Can we just make it like the whatever…" 'brief', or its current trend equivalent, I think that perhaps 80 percent plus of clients may be happily served by an AI which facilitates that. There's so much value in being able to generate assets with minimal friction; and an 'AI art-director' to bring some flair and unity is surely but moments away. All great in one sense, but on aggregate making it ever hard for things to achieve cut through perhap?
Reminds me of something a great photographer once said:
"There's nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy idea.' Ansel Adams
@@davidpharo there will definitely be a sea of guff. Nonsense knows no limits in 2024.
OH MY GOD THIS IS PURE GOLD
I did everything u did, and for some reason is not working!! why is that?
me tooo
@@RamadhikaLucky I found the answer that he didn’t mention, basically if u insert a logo or text, make sure that the image you upload is in white background, not as transparent, cus I did it like that and didn’t work, but now is fine ✔️
❤
Someone still has to control the interface and the ideas, so all is not lost for designers.
Lmao
Why is it not working? I followed every single step but it's just not working out :( I honestly love your tutorial and I'm a super experienced designer but it just won't do what I want. I wanna cry :((
Make sure that the used structure reference image is not a png with transparent bg. Background must be solid white.
yes a fake video
If it’s 3d then rotate it 20 degrees
Everybody is freaking out about AI taking over their jobs, chill out, this is just a tool for us designer, things are changing and we need to follow it's rhythm. Our clients will still need our services because then don't have time to mess around with this stuff. AI is super powerful but will ever need someone to control it.
Interesting
woops wrong firefly video
Waiting for Adobe Ruan Mei
AI is taking over 😵😵
nuh uh. not while im alive
@@__Rizzler__ let’s just see 👀
FYI: Krea ai is better than Kive ai
"why is there lemons in the background? I don't know" lool. The potential of AI as a tool is so great
Nobody: I want to make 3D art but I have no will to learn.
2024 Creative industry: let's make it so people want to learn new workflows and invest time in understanding a machine trained on their own previous and current work instead of giving them educational tools to learn new actual real software with which they can push further the boundries art and creativity.
Must be fun for this companies to try and "democratise" an industry built on diveristiy, originality, talent and loads of skills by standardizing results and making the basic (but today hella praised) act of having an idea the only valuable thing in the creative process. Because why not ? people don't care about skills and crafts anymore anyways ahah
I advice the new generations of designers to approach this things as what they are, tools for art directors, not actual substitutes for your beautiful hands and brains.
I guess I’ll quit being a designer or artist now, goodbye y’all
Why not embrace it and adapt rather than giving up? I’ve been around about 4 decades and can’t say I’m loving the current development but I’ll be damned if I’m going to get bullied out of what I love because of a development I don’t fully agree with.
Designer aren’t going anywhere. These image generators are fun to play with but there’s very little room for editing. Take this 3D render-style image, for example. If Will was paid by a client to create this image, it’s very likely that they would ask him for revisions after the initial design is presented to the client. If this image was created in Blender or Cinema 4D, a designer could change the camera angle, lighting, texture, etc. This is a super important part of the process. With AI you are rolling the dice and are left with a static image that’s not editable.
Over the past 20+ years as being a designer, I’ve learned even if people can do it themselves, they are still too lazy. And getting clients is to explain exactly what they want, I think AI is in for some frustration with humans 😄. Never give up, embrace it, it’s a great tool for us.
I just use them as springboards. No differently than hunting around online and coming up with ideas. I think it's kinda childish and ignorant of people to think that this is going to "take our jobs away" Luddites have a closed mind in understanding how progress works, and how new technology workato our advantage. Think about how many more books were published when the printing press came about. And think how even more with digital fonts. And think about all the old school designers who used xacto blades, photos and colored gels to do visual design when Adobe came with photoshop and illustrator. And I'll assume these are the tools you use, yet that's ok because it's beem accepted for over 40 years. And some badass stuff came about that took design to a whole new level. so: people who adapt to the changes survive and thrive, and those who fall into oblivion are the ones screaming "WELL, I guess there's no point anymore"
AI hasnt repalced designers...yet. This stuff is getting so easy even the dumbest of dumass clients will be able to do it all themseves very soon. They'll need taste of course, but AI will probably help them with that too soon enough.
Until AI kicks us out of the jobs, let's just be self-content and call it "it's just a tool" 😅
Absolutely does not work. Its just creates a ball of fur in the background. I meticulously followed this tutorial.
It works for me - but I'll check it out to make sure it continues to work for everyone else.
Those "mockups" are honeslty bad. They LOOK fake as f&":K. So far, maybe in a few months it will look good. Right now it looks trash.
We (creatives) have paid adobe monthly subscriptions over the past decade so they could develop tools to replace us. Thanks AI and Adobe, you are sh*t.
AI is a tool, not an overlord. You need to fear humans who use it, not AI itself. Humans will never be replaced, AI will always need something from us.
@@re.d.studio it’s so not true that ai won’t replace humans. It’s their whole business model.
Or… you could hire a real 3D artist instead of using a program that is trying to make them moot. And they generally are not expensive to hire so the argument of “good for small businesses with a budget” is ridiculous. It's like when you see a really bad sign design above a near empty shop and the owner goes “did it myself” instead of taking the time to hire someone who knows what they are doing and will help increase revenue by bringing in customers. I feel bad for my friends, who are 3D artists already working in industry at minimum wage and struggling to get better or more 3D modeling jobs because of how competitive the industry is. This further shoves their degrees in the toilet, and in a few years, things like this will remove the need for their jobs all together. I wish visual AI never existed so the hundreds of thousands of debt accumulated by getting a college degree was worth it
I get what you're saying. I feel sorry for those typographers who used the letterpress.
Hiring someone for doing something you could reasonably do yourself just so "their industry stays alive" or something like that makes next to no practical sense. You said yourself that your friends are struggling to human competition, not AI. If you do any real research, your fears may not be as probable as you might think. Humans will never be replaced, AI will always need something from us.
@@re.d.studio that is such an insanely naive thought and I envy that. If you replace humans in an already tough to get into industry, you further remove any chance of career. And to think AI will not replace humans, it already is. Just look at how people are using it to generate instead of hiring photographers for mockups or commercial use. That will cut into the industry and create less opportunity.
@@NomadicSims Even photographers themselves use ai. Along with video editors, sound designers, and all kinds of other professions that many believe will erase humans still need overseeing. True, data management, calculation, large language processing and the like, computation handles well enough that it needs little assistance from us. How counterintuitive it would be to offer a service that replaces the very people Adobe hires! If anything, if used right, ai will help these industries rather than harm them. And "Team Human" is still going strong. Photography is expected to grow 4% in the next decade.
@@re.d.studio oh how I truly envy your naivety! You seem to think AI is done growing, silly person. It isn’t. The sheer amount it has developed within a year has gone from “unrealistic and uncanny valley hell” to “oh no this video tricked millions”. Imagine what will happen in another year, and the one after that? Human art and creativity will be replaced, as we are already seeing occur, in lieu of cheaper and less effort products. And in doing so will remove entire swaths of industries, until all thats needed is an idiotic prompter without an iota of skill or talent. Humans are self-destructive creatures. If it’s counterintuitive you can be assured it will occur. Especially if some big shot thinks they can save some money to fill their own pockets.
No no no no no not working. Not interested in skill stare not is this is how bad they are. Not working at all. Please dont try this tutorial. You will waste all of your time.
Adobe are developing themselves out of business 😂 once designers are out of work because AI has replaced them and any talentless Joe can just write a prompt, who is going to buy their ridiculously priced products?
