    I bought this watch a little over a year ago and I love it. I retrofit it with a factory rubber strap with a quick deployment clasp, at which point it instantly became one of favorite EDC's. It's there but with the rubber strap, it's so comfy I don't feel it. I can't say enough good things about his watch. Since I got the 444 like so you got my sub. Cheers!! (I love numbers, LOL)

      Hi Bobby -how’d you retrofit to use with a deployant? I have the black version with rubber buckle strap but would prefer a deployant clasp -I appreciate any suggestions you can make in advance

    Purchased this watch on 9/2/2021. It is, indeed, absolutely stunning and "the goods". One thing to note here: there is a manufacturer defect with a batch or batches of clasps that were used for this model. The clasp on mine locked up within a week. Omega confirmed it is a defect, and are replacing the clasp, free of charge, as we speak. They provided me with an overnight label to ship to them, provided a portal login to track the progress, issued a dedicated customer service rep that provides updates, and will be overnighting the watch back once fixed. They have been Johnny on the Spot with customer service.

    • @chrisj6244
      @chrisj6244 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How did it lock up, do you mean it would not open once closed. Thanks

    • @branchclan6112
      @branchclan6112 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisj6244 Yes, I had to go to a local jeweler to remove a link while it was on my wrist to remove it. I am not sure how it locked up/jammed. I rarely sleep with a watch on, but the bracelet is so comfortable that I forgot it was on. I woke up the next morning, and the clasp would not open. I remain very pleased with the purchase. Admittedly, the watch did seem a bit chunky after the first few weeks. I had worn a Tag Heuer Carrera Day/Date for 10 years (large watch), so I did acclimate fairly quickly to the Seamaster Chrono size.
      The accuracy of the watch is as advertised. I'm only gaining a couple of seconds per week - which is quite incredible.

    Only open the helium valve in a dive chamber on the ascent when using pressurized mixed gases. Opening it up in the water will flood and wreck the watch. When using mixed gases under pressure, helium will permeate into the watch due to it's tiny molecules and when surfacing, the helium expands quickly which will pop the crystal out. That's why you have a helium expansion release for when you're decompressing in a dive chamber. Definitely a feature you won't need unless you're a commercial diver. Nice review, just a little more info to add.

    Afraid of scratching it?!? You get a plastic brillo pad and massage the brushed surfaces with the metal grain. You can buff out the scratches and make your brushed surfaces look literally better than new. So much so that I’ve done that on ALL of the brushed surfaces on my 1998 SMP because it embellishes the graining and makes it look so nice. That’s how I keep mine looking brand new.

    Tim - good video, but for the umpteenth time - the Omega co-axial chrono calibers run at 4Hz, whereas three-handers run at 3.5Hz.

    • @highnrising
      @highnrising 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And that's based on what?
      Omega, on it's very limited info website, fails to provide any beat-rate info for its watches. They don't provide thicknesses either--wonder why?
      Reportedly, they slowed down the beat rate on their non chronograph watches from 4Hz to 3.5Hz because the faster beat rate was causing problems with the co-axial movement.

    • @ShaunKVideos
      @ShaunKVideos 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@highnrising, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Also, in every one of his reviews regarding this watch, he referenced the 9900 movement as having a 25,200 beat rate when in fact it has a 28,800 beat rate. FACTS.

      It is 4 hz, in the manual it says you can measure time intervals to 1/8 of a second which you can’t if it were 3,5 hz. Also, you can hear the difference in the ticking.

    I miss a weekday feature from this movement. The good old 7750 has it, even the 5100... it could be placed at 9 with a second small hand on the subdial. Now during (and after) COVID, with no DST in the EU anymore, the quick time zone adjustment feature looses importance while the weekday and the quick date adjustment gains. Even a fly-back would be nice. And all this could be just packed in a 41.5 - 42 mm case... I'd be happy with the same dial that has a mat finish instead of this mirror-like polished.

      @SP-pn7xx 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@edwardsauve4836 It's used only in saturation diving situations. Meaning, you spend time in an under water base for multiple days. In this environment you breath a mixture of oxygen and helium so you can withstand the pressure for longer, but the helium molecules are so small, they can penetrate the seals of the watch. Once the job is done and you are depressurising in the chamber, you unthread the helium release valve to gently let it out. If you don't, the glass might pop right off. You never use it while swimming. Only 330ish divers are qualified for this in the USA...
