    The Asian/Indian commentator ruined the video. Nothing personal just the accent is annoying to listen to, he cuts off people while they're talking and it sounds like his mic is too close to his mouth.

    Efren Reyes, or the magician, did not gain his exquisite and unique proficiency from nothing. He started playing pool since he was 8 y/o and now he's 65 y/o (dated today) which means he has been playing pool for 57 years (born August 26, 1954).
    Efren has mastered the entire pool table angles, strikes force, unimaginable control and precision on the cue ball, and a very high self-confidence with absolutely no vanity (He's very humble and friendly by the way).
    Two more things about Efren Reyes, he has never underestimated any opponent, and he has never neglected the calculation of any hit no matter how easy the ball is.
    God bless Efren Bata Reyes.

    Dr. Looking at efren's neck (which effects his back) needs some adjusting and some pain medication. Maybe someone could get him some much needed help. Loratab NOT Oxy. The stretching on the 10' is helping relax his neck but it took a while. My Point.

      @@michaelschmidt2234 Efren 'Bata' Reyes,brother. Ever wondered why the players and the people call him the Magician? :) . Efren grew up in the pool gall off his uncle ,he played form the age of 5 (i think). Even so,he played on a crate of Coca-Cola.. That kind off tells you the age he started playing. :) He literally lived in the pool hall,he SLEPT on the pool table... About the Magician, many people don't know he was a world class 3 cushion biliards players too and an fantastic carom player (like they call it in the U.S.,in Europe we call it carambole(caron).So kicking 2,3,4,5 railes is nothing for him,especially banking,every angle you can think off is routine for him. Many of his legendary matches when he was in his top form are available for watching on the TH-cam channel 'ray carlton billiards'. and many more. Then you will know why they called him the Magician. Watch the famous Z-shot he played... o.O . Kind regards,brother.

    1:29:43 Efren was trying to miss the 10, hit the cushion and bump the 6 out of the way, so the 5 ball could go in that pocket, none of the commentators pick up on that, they thought he hit the 10 on purpose :)

    omg. I thought I was neurotic but apparently I am not the only person whose pleasure from watching those two absulutely amazing players was somehow diminished a lot by Zion's commentary. dude - it is really enough to say a comment once. not two or three times in a row! one "good shot!" is really enough for people to get the message.
    and funny thing - I got surprised a few times when I heard third guy's voice but from comments I can see that Zion just dominated it totally. not nice, Ziom. good to keep your ego at bay. or even better - just leave it home.
    anyway - thanks for this video, InsidePOOLmag, I love both players!

    The commentators argue through the entire match. It would have been more entertaining but it was constant. And then one of them forgot to turn off their phone. When the chick arrived, she and Mr. Giggles flirted awkwardly while he combed his hair In his dreams. She belly laughed when Efren smiled like she was at a Norm McDonald concert after smoking a little hash and inhaling a half slab of ribs at The Rendezvous in Memphis. She would have dropped a log if he'd actually done something funny. I hope she's not the one who stunk up the girls bathroom but I can't rule her out. ER ROCKS!!!. (Go Hogs!!! Bring Bobby back!)

    I hate when the commentators criticize Earl for being himself/ talking to much....News Flash; the reason the sport is dying a slow and painful death is because there is no one in the game who acts like Earl anymore. No need to broadcast these matches on TV anymore because there's no characters, so no one cares to watch because it's just to boring for the average viewer. Sure the billiards community will always tune in, even to online streams, but the average Joe could care less about billiards because there's no one who plays with any style, confidence, or swagger. Its almost like watching the Mathletes these days...Strickland used to FILL the room with people/supporters in the 90's. Even if you hated Strickland, you still would LOVE to go see him play....

(2) If he loses, it's for any number of reasons *except* his own questionable execution and/or decisions. He's still the best player in the room (just ask him). Which is why I *love* watching him lose. Don't get me wrong; he's solid. Always has been. One of the best to ever play. But Efren is *humble* and endearing, Earl is just an ass-douche, and that has *nothing* to do with his pool game.

      I like how Earl always says nice things about Efren. In the Earl Strickland Presents series, he narrates and analyzes pool matches. He's always saying "Efren would do this here" or "Efren was the best at these shots." In the 9 ball round of this match, when Earl gets applause for a nice shot he says "I learned that shot from Efren. Half this stuff I'm doing here I learned from that man." It's a special bond you share with the people you battled the hardest and how much you needed them to be your very best.

    although i have owned 3 or 4 maybe more of Earl's cue sticks and i loved them. as a person i dont like him. he really showed himself like a small child at the Color of Money in Hong Kong. The only thing that he didnt do is lay in the floor and kick and scream. It was to be a repeat tournament but after he showed his butt the promoter said that he wasnt going to hold it anymore.

      This is 10 ball. They have call shot/ call safety rule. Efren called 1 ball to pocket. He hit one ball, but the cue ball went safe. Earl has choice to play or put Efren back in the table. Earl put Efren back.

    I just got to watch this match this date and I have come to the conclusion(WELL, it's not really that hard to accept) that even these two top players of the game, are bound to miss many shots. And games are really won more, not by pocketing as much balls, but by commiting lesser mistakes.

    I think it's Alex in the booth . He said he'd much rather watch a safety battle than see someone jump to get out of a trap . I wholly agree . Great safety play is a thing of beauty . Jumping , with all the noise , cue ball going all over , banging into everything....is just ugly . You rarely see a jump when these two meet up , they'll challenge each other with safeties and work until someone gets away . Beautiful stuff ! There may one day be a challenger to the crown , but Efron and Earl will probably always be the two best on the planet .

    • @Regoriroger
      @Regoriroger ปีที่แล้ว

      10 ball is call shot and Earl missed and got accidental safe. The incoming player has the option to make you shoot again, and that's what Efren chose. No lucky safes when you miss a shot you called.

    It was obvious that Earl is very familiar with this 5*10 table, unlike Efren he should've gotten some practice to get familiar an comfortable with this. The commentator said Earl gave Efren control and the game! Really!! No, Efren has finally gotten comfortable with this size table, Earl didn't give him anything! Efren took control just as he normally do exceptionally. Both players are great but Efren is the best. I only wish they had another set to play the next day. Great game guys!!!!

    • @teddyhaynes9876
      @teddyhaynes9876 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just because you say someone is the best doesn’t mean it ! Earl has the titles and accolades which say he is the best 9 ball player to ever play period ! When earl was at his peak and didn’t mentally give it away aka color of money he would run over efren , go watch earl destroy efren in the earl 90s usopen finals . Earl beat Efren more than efren beat him , efren was a great player but it’s annoying always seeing fanboys overrate him , todays pool players are just as good as efren and earl , todays pool is much much much more competitive . Efren was great but his break would handicap him playing long races against someone like Shane . When it’s all said and done svb will prob be the GOAT HE ALREADY HAS 5 usopens and only player to win back to back world pool masters and he got his first world 9 ball this past year . Accolades show who the best is when it matters most
