Folks, we know some don't like the ad border. Patience, please. We just started uploading all the great matches we have preserved and digitized. We upload the PBT Classics on a schedule = the 9th, 19th, and 29th of the month. The first 6 matches began uploading on August 9. We've now uploaded 6 matches. The next 6 uploads are a series called "Legends of Billiards," which we produced this past summer. It features Davenport, Pierce and Sigel doing all NEW commentary as they watch the first 6 Classics. They look back at the matches, the players, the times and the Tour. We hope you'll enjoy the unique way we did it. For those who don't like the ad bar, give us a break. We'll get it right. We're just getting started. But hey, thanks for watching and for telling us what you like and want. We're listening.
We appreciate you Don. Can't please everybody, and I know you're trying to promote the Pro Billiards Tour brand. I remember watching these broadcasts on TV and how fortunate I felt being able to watch them. This was before the age of TH-cam where people can watch matches anytime, anywhere. We appreciated these matches more back then cause we had to WAIT until broadcasts would come on. Thanks again Don and team.
@@Luckydad2 Thank you, Luckydad2. We're doing what we can to give fans great pool, give today's pros more promotion and opportunity, and unite and expand the global billiards community.
Earl's pace of play is great to watch. He doesn't, contrary to guys I play $$$ against, rush. He stands up, surveys the whole table then goes to work. I believe his mind works quicker than other tour players, giving the illusion that he's rushing. He is not. His cueball control is phenomenal and even when he's slightly out of position, his shot-making is 2nd to none. Huge, huge fan of his game.
People who try and say Efren was better at 9ball make me laugh. It’s pretty clear who wins if these guys play 9 ball. I watch another match where it took Earl 40 minutes to stomp Efren. I do however think Efren is the better player overall.
@@marcuslarwa9098 I think Earl is the best technical player around. On the other hand, Efren is the best strategic player I have ever seen. You can feel Efren's love for the game and I don't think winning or losing is his reason for playing. He just loves to play and if he wins that's great. If not, he lives to play the next game.
This is without a doubt one of the greatest matches by Earl Strickland in which it's not just a man who came in with the clear decision of winning and nothing is going to stop him. It's Earl The Pearl, up against what he I'm sure feels is the right opponent the right place and the right time. I don't care what kind of condition the magician was in, when it comes to somebody being ready and determined to win and no matter what, not be denied, who else but are all the Pearl is literally that unstoppable Force. Obviously not all the time, it's got to be the right elements and convergence, it's like the German fighter pilot dude in that movie The Three amigos. "I practiced hours and hours every day, it was my dream to be as fast as...." I LOOKED UP TO THIS MAN HE WAS LIKE A GOD TO ME!! .... I've waited a lifetime for this moment 😐... Seriously, go try and talk either one out of it.... The magician is not like that, he's just a brutal winner from outer space... Earl the Pearl is the unstoppable Force meets.... And there is no immovable object and if there is it's going to move. I've known good players that have beaten every big name and all of them without exception said that no matter how well they played even if Earl was off a little bit they still couldn't win it would be close but they wouldn't win and they walk away scratching their head thinking why? That is just Earl The Pearl in standard gear. Here he's ready to move Mount Everest.... I don't think there's anybody in history that could beat him at this moment place and time. This is a great upload and it's finally here thank you...
Earl played unconscious in this match, no version of Reyes or anybody else was gonna beat Earl on that night. He was blowing Reyes away in the color of money match and the crowd being against him disturbed his bi-polar mental state and he blew it. Reyes is the GOAT #1 Earl is goat #2
On the TH-cam mobile app you can zoom into the video in full screen mode by pinching and dragging your fingers away from each other. Just a tip for easier watching! Enjoy people 😁
I just finished watching the 1996 Colour of Money Challenge race to 120. Amazing match. Efran 17 racks behind came back to win the match. In my humble opinion, Efren lost this match because of his weak breaks. But hey, who am I to say. Both players are top of their game.
We get it. The video was uploaded by PRO BILLIARDS TOUR… No need to ruin the experience of watching this old match with the garbage border around the video. I, and probably many others, would likely subscribe to this channel without this ridiculous and unnecessary presentation
There is really no excuse for the screen cut with its vain, greedy need to advertise the whole march. All it succeeded was to irritate it viewers the whole nine yards. The excuse by Don Mackey is lame and academic--how long have Pro Billiards Tour been in the business?

Super annoying watching the match on only half of the screen with all that unnecessary crap around the edges
The talent of Earl Strickland in his prime is undeniable. He's still one of my favorites, even with his antics.

Appreciate the upload! Been looking for this match for a while now, great redemption from the pearl!

Great call here. Earl's shot making, pace of play and cueball control is great to watch; but oh so tough to emulate, but I'm getting there !!!
full screen PLEASE!!!!
Hate the advertisements. Full screen please.
Kim Davenport should’ve done more commentary, he’s the best i’ve heard without being obnoxious like some
Earl So very happy that he beat the best player of the world efren.. Earl says during the efren reyes farewell tour that efren is the best player.. 😊
Yeah he was being kind showing respect bud, Earl is the best 9 ball player to ever hold a cue, Reyes the best all around player.
Earl has beaten Efren more than Efren did to him ..
Thanks for the score info
37:32 unbelievable shot!
Isn't it!!!
95 96 97 reyes always s the 1st runner up except 94 where he wins it
Where is the original video without all the cheesy ads?
I’m sorry I can’t watch this, the border is killing me.
Earl got a lot of rolls this match.

@@jasonsweeton8368I remember that match . Earl was leading and the crowd. Started to irritate him on purpose..
I love efren... The greatest of all time
This really is a great match...two legends...9ball pioneers!

Was about to watch this video and realized i can't deal with the "breath whistle"
Efren wasn't quite Efren in this match...🫣
Why take up 1/3 of my tv screen with advertisements for Pro Billiards Tour...wanted to watch this but couldnt... stupidity & greed

I stopped watching early in the video because of the continuous ads.
