You mentioned at 5:40 you would need to go Fremnick to upgrade your POH, I assume for the supplies from the Keldagrim stonemason shop, but they did actually add another stonemason in Varlamore near the mine on the southeastern coast.
Ya. I didn't realize until after I had said that. Does make Varlamore all the better of a pick. Getting the max level pool in your house is still a pain in the butt unfortunately lol.
There are no bad picks for areas imo, choose one that has content you want to learn, choose one that has content you already know and then use the last one to help you get items/gear you want for your main att style
That's fair. You do want to make sure you enjoy the stuff in the area, especially if you are going to go for all the tasks. While I'm not done going through all the areas myself, one thing I think will be true this year is that any area with a raid will be very strong by comparison to other areas. Simply because of the change to the mega rares coming from any of them. Doesn't really matter to you if you're more skilling focused, but anyone pvm focused will likely want to pick up a raid because of that. You certainly don't have to (since just about everything in leagues will feel really strong), but that's my 2 cents.
@@YewJackOSRS Definitely agreed, morty, kourend or desert will be highly chosen .. personally desert is on my high probability list lol I can solo toa but have trouble soloing cox and tob. If you get a BIS range item from Varla for example then maybe you don't care about the twisted bow anymore, so don't worry about a raid. Something like that.
last League I had picked Ranged build with Asgarnia, Kourend and Desert. Due to missing Twisted bow, I went for Masori (f) and Zaryte crossbow. Bandos for melee, ancestrals for magic, with Tumeken's shadow and potential for Twisted bow (if you get lucky). Now that each raid type can reward you with any superweapon, it will be very hard to pick between Kourend and Desert. Unless we gonna stick with the same areas and benefit from the new relics with the new possibilities. For now thats all..... A mystery! :)
Last year the Zcb was soooo good. Agreed that all the raids dropping the big 3 really opens things up a lot. I think it'll make kourend a really powerful mage pick since you can get ancestral + shadow out of CoX.
I agree! Good point, perhaps that means desert is not necessary to pick at all. Now is the real question though.. what else to pick besides Kourend and Asgarnia?
@@canabeers Varla/Frem are good support regions this time around. Not only do you pick up a stone mason for all the construction related tasks, but depending on the region you get some additional gear in the mix. Varla would give you some fun mid-game stuffs to play with, where as Frem gives the rings + vorky shield to pair with your c'bows (not to mention duke for magic ring and virtus robes prior to CoX). I found last year I wasn't really able to grind much from raids + nex + god bosses + cerb + blah blah blah. May not be an issue for you, but worth a shout. If you want the general BIS main stuffs then Z/A/D is good. You'll pick up the best armor sets for all the styles (assuming you can grind them all out). I do think you have a lot of flexibility though on the last area, even if you're locking Z/A. Early/Mid mage will be kind of sad, but it's not the most useful style so that probably won't be a deal breaker. Great overview but for someone like me that plays mostly solo and only raid with friends this was a bad pick for me last league. No one on my F list wanted to do TOA because of burn out farming that raid. I'm only picking areas with good bossing and no raids this time around. I did desert last league so I'll likely skip it this time unless friends end up playing leagues and wanting to hit ToA. I'm leaning towards doing ranged, but also kind of considering doing melee again (did in leagues two) and taking morytania to get arraxor stuff.
@@matthewfera2954 I was just doing my mory research today and I agree. That area is pretty stacked for melee. Also ends up being a good all arounder and pretty well self contained (doesnt rely on other region unlocks for the stuff to be useable). Not to mention it helps a ton for slayer.
TKV being Tiranwnn Kandarin Varla? I was just saying the Desert as a singular pick gives so much to the ranged combat style. Tiranwnn with crystal armor + bowfa is good for ranged, don't get me wrong. You'd also pick up a blowpipe. Without desert though, you are missing out on the BIS ranged armor -- plus if you don't pick up a raid you miss out on TBow -- pluuus the KQ is getting some sort of competitive BIS ranged weapon. Desert is just stacked towards range really. We don't yet know what all the different echo drops will be, so it's quite possible that any of the areas you listed get some sort of comparable BIS ranged weapon, which would weaken the KQ drop value in a sense. End of the day, you should pick content you want to do in general. Grinding a raid for all the drops takes time and if you don't enjoy TOA or other desert content then no amount of BIS stuff in the world will be worth it to you, since you'll end up quitting before you get to it. Edit: Oh. And I'm sure varla will be a lot of fun in general lol. I'm really wanting to pick varla regardless of what else I end up doing personally. The moons armor will be decent all around, so I think it'll be a solid region choice.
@@DkKobaADV No worries. I think in game for the region selection they call it Kourend & Kebos low lands, so nice and confusing when shortened down lol. Makes sense though what you're saying. CoX giving the range prayer helps a lot too. Last league we had another prayer book, and I'm sort of anticipating we will again -- meaning the prayers from CoX aren't as valuable. But then again, it depends what that other prayer book choice is up against. If you don't want to skip the other relics/masteries then that makes CoX really good (on top of the fact it also gives the shadow and scythe this year).
Last league range relic made xbow way more powerful then any bow. the very high bolt proc meant most your ruby and diamond would proc(specially combine with Zeryte). tyranwin is nice for points though, and will be fine if this league range masteries aren't busted with bolts again.... or if the combat defense against xbow really plays a big part(I doubt it with the big accuracy boost they usually give)
@@jawstrock2215 Ya, that's true. I do remember the bolt procs being nuts and the way the atk speed was calculated ended up favoring 5 tick weapons. I'm a little unsure of the direction they'll go with the echo weapons. The teaser for the desert seems like doubling down on the regions strengths imo. Whether they'll do that in every region is up in the air. I look at mory as very strong melee. There are a lot of weapons though, so another melee weapon in the area might be a bit lame. Ranged is probably the weakest style in mory, so maybe they'll fill that gap. Only time will tell.

@@YewJackOSRS Yepp. Pretty sweet zone, and I didn't do mory in leagues before at all. Probably taking it regardless.
@@matthewfera2954 Gl!
Ok so i want to do TKV... why desert over those that have clear ranged benefits?
@@YewJackOSRS I'm actually really dumb and put K for kourend bc zeah is technically also valramore 😂😂😂 whoops
I guess I wasn't thinking it would be exactly the same this time, but I do still expect an atk speed buff of some kind. I could very well sound quite silly once combat masteries are revealed lol.
feels just a bit early for a deep dive?
Never too early! Gotta get to know the areas so when they start spouting stuff about relics and combat masteries we are all prepped. 😁
@YewJackOSRS true enough, is the info covered in your video set in stone? That's all I'm curious about. If it is great video.
@@TheKutthroatKid Ya. Everything here is what we know. Other areas I may speculate on the echo boss, but I'm mainly just reviewing what all we can do in a given area/what is available + any changes they have already confirmed.
If I'm ever speculating on something I make sure to mention that.
Asgarnia on top for range with zcb
Last year for sure. They already said no same relics this year, so crossbows may not hold the same prestige as leagues 4. 😉
TOA was so awful last leagues, wish they’d add some echo range stuff to mory. Every relic works in virtually every room in TOB.
Varlamore shops OP
Does have a lot of them. That's for sure.
And a stone mason for construction. That'll be a really nice pickup.
@@YewJackOSRS that’ll be huge yah! The rune shop is good too and the gem shop stocks uncut rubies
@@mandrue73 I was doing a bit of digging in varla today as well. You get that, the hunter guild stuffs (for like mixed hide early), there's also a pickaxe store so you can get a rune pick early. I think for people wanting to go varla it'll probably be the best first pick region.
@@YewJackOSRS yah exactly. That’s why I was speculating the other day that Varlamore could make for a great starter region/ free unlock for the tutorial. I also have selfish reasons for wanting that as someone going for all pets in leagues 😂 I won’t be taking Varlamore otherwise since p3 will likely give more pets that aren’t out yet, and varlamore could potentially play a bigger role in leagues 6… 💭 We shall see, it’s all guess work on my part! 😄
@@mandrue73 Man is already thinking about leagues 6. Now that is planning lol
Uh oh, doubleshine better watch out. This guy is coming for his job! 😏
@@Trolldamere Yooo. He was my inspiration last year lol.
So this year you stole his youtube password, right? 🤣
@@Trolldamere This is actually his channel, I just rebranded it. 😉

I can hear it. Lol
Maybe long lost distant cousin. 😉
