+Tobias Christopher Think about the idea like your right Tobias. Heck I would have figure that Power Pack would have felt right for Disney to use rather than Big Hero 6.
+Tobias Christopher Other properties that Disney could cash in on for kids but have yet to do so: Young Avengers Runaways Avengers Academy A-Force Pet Avengers
+Eve Raven and the Jet Pack Pets. Don't forget about those Jet Pack Pets. They may not be Marvel characters, but the opportunity is right there in front of them. And for those asking: yes, there is such a superhero team as the Jet Pack Pets, and it was as stupid as much as it was a blast.
+Tobias Christopher If Disney did have plans to have a Power Pack series set in the MCU and airing of on the idol-maker that is the Disney Channel, it wouldn't surprise me at all.
Oddly enough, to spite not being popular Power Pack still has a presence in the comics and they have the rarest of powers: Aging. No one else may grow up but these four children.
I don't think most kids would get that the Power Pack is a comic adaptation. I had a super hard time several years ago explaining Power Pack to my friends who thought Team Go from Kim Possible was an original idea.
+Andrew Ollmann I'll have to look up which came first but team go always struck me more as power pack because there were siblings with ordinary parents
+Mark Roth Power Pack came out a full 20 years earlier, The Incredibles came out in all theaters 9 months after Team Go was introduced on Kim Possible (Team Go was introduced on January 30th 2004, and the Incredibles came out in November 2004).
+geardog24 Yeah, and unlike the recent seventeen X-flics, they actually acknowledged that Jubilee didn't merely exist, but was also a major player. Personally, I would have rathered Lauren Lane(C.C.Babcock fom The Nanny) portraying Emma Fost, but it wasn't all bad. Not great, slightly below mediocre, but not bad.
Given, but there she was an actual charachter, not a random student that "happens to be there". She didn't look the part, sure, but at least she was allowed to *play * it.
Potatrobot 4:21 is also exactly like a piece of Wildest Dreams from the Broadway Little Mermaid. Someone said borrowed assets and music are usually used in pilots since they're for internal viewing only at the studio, so I'm guessing thats what happened. Or Disney has a secret vault of other networks failed children's show pilots they ocassionaly cannibalize for their own projects.
So the show just, like, ignored the origin story? The first four issues of the comic series were legit great, and they just ignore it? Then again, it appears they ignored basically everything else, so why start with an origin story.
+TheBrianJ Maybe they'd have done the origin series before this if it got put to series? This could be trying to show what an average episode is like while also establishing the premise. Plenty of pilots work like that. They just get reedited once picked up for series.
OH...OH MY GOD...The legends were true. This Canadian thing existed!?! I actually was a huge fan of the comics (when I was 11 years old) .... WOW. Great episode.
Thats because its just a pilot episode, which almost always use borrowed music, and sometimes special effects because they are just meant for viewing by the studio. Its common for borrowed assets to be replaced in a final version for pilots that get picked up and turned into the first episode of a show.
Seriously. like every track in this pilot is something I've heard before and it's driving me CRAZY trying to remember where I've heard some of them D'X
+CarozQH The Flash was high budget and entertaining, but that's the reason it got canceled after one season, too expensive. Can't do it right with the budget, can you?
Well, it was a pilot. Some of them don't have all the intended polish until they're in full production. Though honestly I sort of dug the rainbow trail effect.
This must be a Canadian production. The father was one of the hosts of "Polka Dot Door" back in the 80s, and the teacher was in a show called "Join In" in the 90s. Plus the house is clearly in a Toronto suburb.
With Disney buying out X-men, I wonder if this was also on their list because from 4:21-4:25 i'm pretty sure that's a tune from The Little Mermaid annnnd i think 6:00-6:07 is from Lion King
One of Marvel's biggest fuck-ups, releasing this when the comic was cancelled, and skimping on the budget. I'm still holding out hope that Marvel gives the Power siblings an in-canon series again and maybe a movie or TV series.
@@MrChaotic4 But it takes a person of relative intellect to figure out who he is by context clues. Inorder to get his gadgets he would have to be considerably rich. Even Bane figured out who he was.
Apparently in one of Brad's Friday the 13th reviews there was some editing mistake where he said "Jail" right before the movie's credits, so he just made it into a running joke.
It's from his review of The Geek, because the movie ends with the main character (?) saying "Someday I'm going to get that filthy animal", followed by credits, making it feel like half a movie. He then parodied this by saying 'What if Friday the 13th part VI did this" he then cuts to Tommy Jarvis in jail in that movie and does an impression. "Someone has to stop Jason! Too bad I'm in jail." I would rather them join the MCU, yes it could be a good animated movie but using the Power Pack can open up huge branches in the MCU. Since Disney doesn't own Fantastic Four the Power Pack could take their place being explorer's of the unknown. The show didn't get picked up because there wasn't enough Danny Elfman music for an entire series.
