I really hope Steinberg do the right thing and offer loyal customers who pourchased SL10 when it was firest released the same discount that they are offering today to people who are only just upgrading on this news. Anything else would be a real slap in the face.

Another great demonstration Dom! Having purchased Spectral Layers Pro 10, i didn't think there would be much benefit in upgrading.. However the new functionality you have demonstrated is next level - this is a major upgrade on an already very useful product. I will definitely be upgrading when it comes out!
We prefer Spectralayers over iZotope RX for our post pro and film sound. Layering split audio is the best way for much better restauration in detail, indeed.

Not Upgrading RX10, its the only tools I don't use from Izotope, stems I use RipX PRO DAW 7.10 is really good, but SL 11 is a new dimension of quality if it keep what Dom showed
Spectralayers generally gives better results than Rx too. Wish i'd not bought Rx before i did the cross grade to Spectralayers.

@@iTrensharo my real world tests would disagree with you, I have both and SL usually gives better results, so I have a choice.
I have Rx 10 and SL 10 with the free upgrade to SL 11 as the upgrade was only £50 compared to over £200 for the upgrade from Rx 10-11. Steinberg got my money this time.

OMG that chaining is something I've hoped SpectraLayers would add for some time (well, since last year w/ SL10 haha) - when trying out the demo for SL10 I found myself frustrated that I'd have to manually go sequentially from one layer to the next to apply certain things, and wished that something like this could be done where it does them sequentially, I likey!
Also, the transfer brush tool is something that is much desired - remember being able to do something similar to it in much earlier versions of SL with copying and pasting, sorta, but this makes it easier and more precise for sure!

Rx is way behind this, i did a comparison the other day on stem separation with Rx10 and SL 10, SL 10 is better by far!

Im hoping they make improvements to guitar vs keys separation - its been a mess on all competing apps so far. Drums and Vox are usually the easiest to get good.

That was a great presentation...A real update with tons of new useful features. Hope the update from my non grace period SL10 is cheaper than now buying another full version SL10 for 49,90€ and then on 19th June upgrade for free...that would be disappointing. Any infos about that welcome. Anyway stunning product!

Interesting. I'm an RX8 Advanced user, most often working on dialogue and ADR. I'll certainly be testing the spectral editing capabilities, because this looks like progress in that area. Whether or not this program is useful in my workflow depends on the speed of navigation, selection painting, applying gain and customizing not just module execution but also whether or not someone finally though about executing presets of modules and placing that on shortcuts is possible. Or perhaps somebody had the idea to let people put gain on a modifier+mousewheel combo.
Time is our most precious resource.
Applying gain in the spectrogram is even faster than with RX: there are dedicated eraser and amplifier brushes in the tools palette with real time preview even before you start clicking. If you have a tablet pen, you can even control gain by applying more or less pressure to your pen.

Great Demo, great new Features! BUT: Frequency Selection Blurring is still in Hz, not in Nth Octaves. Aren't you listening, Steinberg. This is still nasty.
Don't worry, we're listening, more improvements (not listed here) are coming later this year to SL11 ;-)
Does Spectralayers have pitch and time capabilities for demix track elements?
What will the charge be for upgrading?
Has anyone had success with unmixing multiple voices from song duets? None of the multiple duets I've tried to unmix has worked in spectral 11. Also unable to remove backing vocals on a mono track. Perhaps the technology isn't there yet.
The new ozone RX module 😂 I mean the module features are amazing. Can we use the individual modules inside of Cubase? As inserts.
No but you can use spectralayers with ARA2 inside cubase

i'll be honest... i'm colourblind and all these colours confuse me!
I do wish the unmix functionality was available separately though, as that is something I use for practising for my cover band.
For the spectral parts, there are a number of different colour settings. V11 should have the same or better. Hopefully one of the choices uses colours you are tell apart better than the default, even if only by their different greyscale contrasts.

You know what really SUCKS about Spectralayers? There is no "delta"-button. Often there is just a subtle change when you remove the noise, it is really annoying not to have the ability to hear what you are removing.
All deessers or noise removers or even RX11 have the "delta"-button to hear just the stuff you removing. Is it too fffng hard to put it inside?
I think you can it’s the reduced signal option when you preview.

Is there any benefit to purchasing v10 now? I will be doing the crossgrade from RX, will the crossgrade still be available for $200 or is that only available for the pre-release? I'd like to be able to demo v11 before purchasing if the pricing will remain the same after the release.
Ok, I found that there was a sale that ended yesterday, so that's probably why everyone was jumping on v10 now. I guess I'm in no hurry then since I already missed it.
Well that's fantastic. Apparently the crossgrade option from RX is completely gone now that v11 is out and I'd have to pay full price. $200 was already pushing it for me, but at $300 I'm gonna pass entirely. So I have no need to demo it now.

@rldivide I just checked again. I do not see an option to buy SpectraLayers Pro 11 for $200. All I see are the pro, elements, and upgrade prices. The link I had bookmarked before which had the crosscrade price is no longer working.
@@Tekkerue Just click "Buy SpectraLayers 11" on the main page, then "Buy SpectraLayers Pro 11", and then instead of "Full Version" just click "Competitive Crossgrade". Not sure why it doesn't mention RX but I confirm RX is part of the crossgrade (I'm the creator of SpectraLayers).

Currently experimenting remastering my band's 1989 demo (recorded on 1/4" Fostex Model 80; only DAT master AIFF files survive) and this looks like it is going to address the minor tweaks to the mixes I wanted to make. Does this support 64-bit VST3 F/X? I would love to take advantage of the extra resolution with my fav 64-bit plugins.

Great improvements, though instead wasting time to explain all the new layout features you should have showed more and longer examples of the results, or make two separate videos, one with design features the other technical. However, I like it as ARA where RX 11 still does not cover all DAW (what a shame), though both have their place.

As an long term Izotope RX owner .... why would anyone buy RX rather than this! Given the nothingness that is the RX11 update I'm definitely using Steinberg's generous cross-grade offer than upgrading from RX10. Hopefully many others also follow suit and Izotope rethink their pricing strategy (or at least provide new functionality that is worthy of the price)

Is there a cymbal debleed module for drums?
There is a DeBleed module that can work with any kind of audio material, or you can simply use Unmix Drums on the drum track you want to debleed, it will separate cymbals from the rest.
As if this isn't proof of my bad luck, I purchased Spectralayers 10 at 7:57pm on the 14th of May so I don't get a free upgrade. I missed it by being 4 hours too early :(

@@skazky I just spoke with Steinberg and asked if there was a discount for those close to the deadline. They checked my account and said, technically, I was only 13 minutes early so they're going to swap my license from V10 to V11 for me. It's so rare for companies to show the human touch these days and I really appreciate it. Just goes to show sometimes it's good to ask, the worst that can happen is they say no :)
plus - what will be the upgrade price for a non-grace-periond 10??? if its more than for new purchasers I am out!
@@studentsmusic Typically, upgrading from a previous version is 3 times cheaper than buying a new one. I don't think anything will change this time.

I downloaded Spectral Layers when I bought Cubase 13 from Steinberg. It completely and inexplicably crashes my Windows 10 i7 four core computer every time I try to launch it. I completely tried to delete it from my system, but it still shows up under the plugins options. Even though it’s gone, my DAW computer completely locks up if I click on it.
What gives Steinberg??
Check the system requirements, it requires an OpenGL 3.3 compatible graphic card with proper graphic drivers. That's likely the reason of your issue.
I guess that is your system TBH. It runs flawlessly on all 4 systems in our studio.
@@rldivide : thank you. I think you nailed it. I have several programs that won’t display inside Cubase 13. My Computer has on board grafics. Time to upgrade!

It's so hard to get through this video. I love Spectralayers but Dom Sigalas is such a clown that I can't take anything he says seriously. I really wish Steinberg would have just used a knowledgeable professional instead.
