Price comparison in your video is based on White colour option… you should point out that the price difference between Xpeng and Tesla is greater again when you want a different colour as Xpeng price is for all colours whereas it’s an extra cost with Tesla
Wow I wish the G6 long range was available in early 2024. I would have bought it instead of my Revised M3 rwd. Same price plus free wall charger. Great deal.
Xpeng do a long range G6 with slightly less leather effect and 18inch wheels for US$25k. This version for let's say, A$49k otr would be more compelling and build in some headroom should Tesla decide to add value to the Y.
@@johnsmith-ds9niXpeng has V2L, choice of interior and exterior colours, longer warranty, auto park and straight summon, reclining rear seats, larger trunk (but no frunk) faster DC charging, heat and ventilated seats, speakers in headrest rear cross traffic alert. Tesla has better headlights, ADAS and steering and currently a stiffer ride. Also sentry and dashcam (mooted G6 will have this). Both have mega castings and are software defined.
Thanks for the video. What disappoints me with non-LFP batteries is the recommendation to keep the charge between 10 & 80% of the full capacity. This varies between manufacturers but that means if we want to ensure battery longevity we only can utilise 70% of the battery. In this case, the long range becomes only 399km. Sure, we could fully charge for the occasional trip but let's say our use case is many long trips? Do we risk faster battery degradation or try to keep with the 70% bracket? So, in that instance the LFP battery with 435km range might be a better bet as it's simpler to manage and can happily charge to 100% with less degradation.
AWD version is already available in Europe and it's a little bit cheaper than the Y awd version, but if you spec the Y with 20" i/o 19" standard rims and add the Enhanced Auto Pilot the Y is far more expensive. That is not even adding the FSD option or choosing the Y Performance. Also G6 has far more comfort options, 360 camera and sensors than the Y. So in Europe, G6 offers more value for money. Only Y vs G6 advantage currently is the Supercharger network, more storage (frunk + underfloor) and matrix headlights.

And as a result, the average singaporean spends far less on transport each year as they don't have a car and use your excellent public transport plus taxi system.
Tesla won't cut any price with a new model. Only cut with the old model. Tesla only upgrades their model significantly when they find that they are unable to compete with their competitors but no price cut. You need to understand Elon Musk.
If I had the cash would prefer the LFP battery due to ethical and durability and safety reasons Although not much of a support network the fact that Auto Tune mechanical will be there for you is not bad
Where would Xpeng Australian drivers details and driving data be housed, etc, within the cars System… and locally via the importers local system or by Xpeng in China? Price can be good, but once you buy this cheap Chinese car, where is the drivers data held, ask them that?
Who cares? Where is your laptop, smartphone, tablet, all online accounts data held? I'm fine with the communist party knowing I'm driving to work or driving home and if the windows are up or down.
Chinese company with zero brand reputation or loyalty in Aus and its almost the same cost as a well proven Tesla Y. Looks very uninspiring also. Probably needs to be 10K cheaper. Lets see price in 6-12months.
@@qilu2004 Facts 👏👏I was so disillusioned when I got into one, the interior feels cheaper than a Corolla. I do love the panoramic glass roof though, going through the city was def a cool experience. Whoever hid a button behind a touchscreen to open the glovebox needs to never design cars again.
They have to add a lot of safety features that are not required in China - the vehicle there couldnt get a 1 star crash rating. And you wont be happy until you can get a new EV for under $10,000 methinks

The MY LR is a dual motor AWD so it’s not comparing apples with apples
I am driving a model Y but I think I like the Xpeng design look a lot better.

A Tesla Y long range with the same feature as the G6 long range is 85k. Let me see 61k vs 85k mmmmm geez that’s a hard choice 😅
Comparing apples with oranges, the XPeng only has one motor, the Tesla has 2.

But you can charge to 100% on non LFP batteries for a long journey - you just have to remember to drive them as soon as they reach full capacity
Beautiful car.
Does Xpeng has a hybrid ute offering. So far only BYD and we need competition to drive price down.
Sorry the Y wins hand down and I think the sales will reflect that
You can’t compare prices of the G6 long range with the model Y long range until the all-wheel-drive G6 version arrives next year.

Yeah, but the Xpeng is not all wheel drive is it cobber.
Its RWD which is fine esp here in Oz
@@grumpyoldmanandhisev RWD is cheaper, hence why the Tesla AWD costs more. That is the point I was trying to make.

XPeng G6 Standard Range is priced at S$225,000 in Singapore, and that’s about AUD253,000. 😂
Ouch - but all vehicles are ridiculous prices in Singapore
Does 100kw limit still apply
