One exception to the light armor fail, is that Sword Saint's int-to-AC works while wearing light armor, so you can have as much as +20 AC while wearing light armor as a sword saint. You can instead use a haramaki if you also want your dex-to-AC to be uncapped, and the haramaki can have up to a +5 enhancement bonus that pyjama tanks can't get. This contrasts with a monk, who can't wear a haramaki or light armor without losing their AC, so in this way a sword saint could be considered a pyjama tank who also wears light armor.
Good point! Haramaki have no arcane failure either right? Not that you have to use spell combat as SS. Plus if you dip student of war and use INT bardiche could that mean going all out on INT then? 🤔
Also keep in mind that a lot of SS dip into witch for lizard familiar (+1 nat bonus AC), iceplant hex (+4 nat bonus AC w/ring) and to get mage armor. And I believe archmage armor still beats haramaki.
@@themagescornerLegend 20 Sword Saint, 10 Duelist, 10 Student of War with the Death’s Consonant Heavy Pick would give you int to AC three times, hit, and damage. Since heavy pick is a one-handed piercing weapon it works for duelist though it does seem rather strange.
Initiative is the best armour in the higher difficulty, whoever goes first in combat wins. Even if you have a super high AC, I have seen the AI running past the tank and going straight for the rest of the party. So it is almost always better to go for glass cannons over tanks.
When the game released the enemies simply went for whoever was closest so you could set your formation to have the character with the highest AC up front. The AI was updated maybe a year ago now to now prioritise squishies like mages and archers over tankier characters.
I just wish there was a way to change the look of your armor if you are not wearing any armor for your animal companions. The look of the heavy barding looks so good on some pets
@@AhbibHaald you need to have something equipped on that slot to xmog it. If you want to xmog a harness on the animal companion you must equip an armor which is not optimal
Late comment but medium armour counts TOTAL (yes, stacked on top of each other) armour bonus then adds half. Which means you can make it go even higher. At least as of 2.3.3k
@@mjul84 I know there is a bug with mage armor stacking. For the purpose of this video I tested it with only itself. So say full plate +5 = 14. Then +50% is +7. You shouldnt be able to stack more armor.
Pyjama tank is the best at TANKING, however you would want to have Light Armor on your DPS (especially ranged ones) for the simple fact that Mythic Light Armor Focus: Assault exists as a Mythic Feat. For unfair +10 to attack rolls is absolutely CRUCIAL and as long as Owlcat doesnt fix the "all AC combined" bug I think running off with a Light Armor ranged DPS (or a DEX tank that works too) is just too big of an advantage to pass up tbh. Ofc for tanking purpose you are better off as a Pyjama enthusiast HOWEVER for damage dealing an Elven Curved Blade wielding Primalist buffed by Legendary proportion is still gonna trash everything in the game by act 3.
The best armor is still no armor coz archmage armor/shaman and oracle armors/kineticist water armor build has more touch armor class. Just need 1 lvl dip into stigmatized witch and you good to go.
Do you like pajama tanks or armored tanks? 🧙♂
seems magic pajamas for armor is working fine
i prefer pets for tanking
@@AldoosAya armored or naked pets? 😁

This is doubly true with mounted combat. Turn 0 full attacks? Yes plz.

Now adjust this guide for feat tax.
lol even with the nerfs pajama tanks still reign supreme

Doesn't the game have transmog?
