I really liked the archetype, I even want to try a new run with a party full of bards, skalds and magic deceivers; I'll just wait until all mods work correctly so I can use respec on companions.
At least the mods I use I know all have been updated. Sometimes u have to check individually on github or on Discord. Modfinder didn't mention latest version of buffbot and it already existed, for example.
Sadly, still cant beat skald in terms of support. Especially that new broken archetype which turns your whole party into barbarogues, while debuffing enemies at the same time. "Balanced" (C) someone from Owlcats.
Yes, the new Skald is damn OP, mystic inspiration, reckless stance, and sneak attack...you can just do real time and see everything explode - and that's even before they patch the Skald's sneak attack abilities
@@PotatoBag685 it's crazy, the first party I build after DLC launched, once the Skald sing, everything's just die so easily, I just change difficulty on hard and see the party kill everything on real time mode, and then use kinetic sharpshooter kill those enemy with range touch attack - with sneak attack of course.
Got to be honest, I wish they had homebrewed this more (assuming its lifted from source material). In terms of mechanical strength, this is naff. More generally, powerhouse builds arise from the interaction between feats and gear with class features. Even the most powerful class features that are not supported by gear and feats do not hold up, barring for the kineticist, where the entire class is built around it. Something like the battle singer has a relatively powerful class ability compared to other class abilities, but its still rubbish when stood next do good martial or spellcasting builds. The abilities are Chelaxian Diva are very poor even stood next to other class abilities. Devastating Aria, for example, does to a single target as a move action action, at level 20, a whopping (5d6+20)/2. That is an average 18.75 damage per use. Even allowing for two uses per round, that is a complete joke. And this is an ability that scales heavily (strongly would be the wrong word) with level, starting out at (1d6+3)/2. A flatfooted aura might sound nice in theory, but the save DC is quite low and the opportunity cost is your inspire courage, which scales up to +7 to hit and damage. You dont have to worry about saves or immunities and their are more reliable options to apply flat footed that it can be combined with. The deadly vibrato is at least extra damage on top of what you would already get, but its really low (average 13.5 at max level) and another low save DC negates the damage altogether. Blazing Rondo is just haste with, at next level, +3 AC, AB and reflex saves relative to the normal haste spell. And the opportunity cost is again Inspire Courage's +7 to hit and damage. Just cast haste and use inspire courage. Vindictive Soliloquy averages 5d10 damage per standard action against a single target. That is an average of 27.5, which again, is anaemic. Banshee's requiem allows a save with a low DC and even if successful, 2 levels drained per round at level 16+ is not a good effect. Its -2 to most rolls and 10 max HP. Yes it stacks if they fail the saves, but it is seldom a fight lasts more than 3 rounds at this level, or at the very least, has not already been effectively decided. Actually killing enemies with the effect will take forever.
Sure but I'm currently playing with a Chelaxia diva and it feels good early on for the following reason: Turn on the tragedy of false hope, say u have 5 enemies. Most likely at least 1, prob 2 will fail the save. Focus fire on those 2 - they die easily. Next turn - repeat. A bit like how people dislike mind fog - but how I really appreciate it. You throw spaguetti at the wall and see what sticks. Whatever sticks, you focus fire on. 🧙♂
I heard Skald Court Poet boost stat by huge margin with Mythic Inspiration, which makes Skald and bard together really shine, like a deadly harmony band
Fun fact - your Devastating Aria shot get benefit from point blank shot, so its like you have over 40 (if you keep picking extra performance) range touch attack, basically i guess you dont need weapon attack.
@@themagescorner Yeah, she sing before she open their heart, oh....she should use the diva feint and rapier trust, too bad the sonic attack is range touch

hey man, just wanted to let you know I appreciate you and your content. thanks for including gameplay footage in your build videos!
no problem! I started making videos mostly cause I missed seeing gameplay footage too! lol
I like the classic music background noice :D
Can you share your Diva portrait? Looks sick!
Nexusmods look for a pack called Happy something

The problem is the save is really easy to pass. Why not +Diva level? would be a lot better.
gotta love a music and song based character that has no music or songs attached to their abilities to really sell the "this is bland and generic" vibe
Ah Diana Damrau ❤

They will fix it... in like 3-4 months lol. But seriously - bard is suppose to be a skill-monke and party buffer. Cheliaxian diva is a bad bard tbh.
