Fiido X Range Test: Hilly Ride With Heavy Rider

  • In this video, I take the Fiido X for a battery range test on a long ride in the hilly Cornish countryside. The Fiido has a relatively small 417Wh battery but it's fairly lightweight (for an e-bike) and uses torque-sensing assist, which improves efficiency. This bike is designed as an urban electric bike but is suitable for riding in the countryside. Fiido claims a maximum range of 63 miles for this bike which may be possible with a lightweight rider using the lowest assist level on flat ground. This range test uses a heavy rider (105 kg) and very hilly terrain.

Hiya. Just got my Fiido X and wanted to ask you, do you think the power comes on in higher gears such as 2nd or 3rd rather than 1st when going up those steep hills ? Thanks for your reply. Paul in Devon

Well I've just had my Fiido X now 4 days now and only went out on it yesterday. All I can say pal is believe the hype! It definitely does what it says on the tin! lol. Everything screams quality from brakes to gears etc and the frame design is to die for too. If your sat on the fence Patrick don't be cos trust me it's well worth getting. It's A breathe of fresh air to traditional cycling.

What sort of speeds were you achieving uphill? And was you able to derestrict the speed limiter on this model?

Do you think this bike would be big enough for someone who is 6' 2 for a 20km round trip commute?
