    10/10 nice concise descriptions, easily parsed through examples. Going to save this vid for later.

    Because of Knights I fully expect windows to be boarded over again on ruins.

      Probably right, but then I’m worried that 10th will just be plagued by indirect fire BS. Its already stupid that the t-shirt cannon marines get to ignore all penalties for indirect fire.

    • @SimplyWarhammer
      @SimplyWarhammer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yer surely that'll get a balance update. Makes a mockery of indirect fire rules when you just ignore them, and can get further buffed too... I wonder if Guard will get rules like that too 🤔😅

    Im glad that units will be able to gain cover from area terrain like ruins on a square base even if they're outside of the footprint. Feels like it will be easier for units to find shelter and positioning/flanking may come into play a bit more

    • @SimplyWarhammer
      @SimplyWarhammer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yer does feel easier to gain cover, but also seems like a lot of ranged weapons ignore cover and all Knights of course ! 🙈

    You got the fly rules wrong. You don't measure diagonally to go up and over. Only if you start or end on terrain. So to go over a building RAW at the moment a fly unit has to move horizontally then vertically up and down the wall and then along the ground again. Its not simpler and I hope it Gets a FAQ so its the way you've shown it.

    • @SimplyWarhammer
      @SimplyWarhammer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think we have found a good example of rules as written vs rules as intended. It is obviously meant to measure diagonally as if you did it in to moves that what you'd do, first up to the top of the terrain and then diagonally back down, the rule covers that. What it isn't saying clearly is that you can do it in 1 move so the other climb over rule is in effect. I can guarantee no TO would enforce that. Lets hope the writers commentary or the day 1 errata clears it up 😂

    • @SimplyWarhammer
      @SimplyWarhammer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes they can move as if it wasn't there, just cant end the movement in a wall 👍

    But how is determinined the +1 salvation by cover? each models individually in a unit ? or if only one model of that unit is not fully visible the whole unit get benefit ofcover ??

    • @SimplyWarhammer
      @SimplyWarhammer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cover is determined on a model basis, so it's possible for a 5 model squad to have 1 model toed into cover.
      When allocating saves you can allocate them to the model(s) that have cover to get a better save, but in the example above once you fail a roll then the model in cover dies and the rest of the attacks have to be saved without cover.
      It's best to slow roll saves in this scenario as you are allocating them to a model with a different save

  • @midknight9327
    @midknight9327 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    1:20 but you do not measure up and over as you only measure diagonally when a fly model starts or finishes a move on terrain

    • @SimplyWarhammer
      @SimplyWarhammer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I messaged on this with another comment, I think we have found a good example of rules as written vs rules as intended. It seems obviously meant to measure diagonally as if you did it in two moves that what you'd do, first up to the top of the terrain and then diagonally back down, the rule covers that. @@SimplyWarhammer well RAI is always subjective but i believe this is mostly to stop flying models get on the last floor of a building in a couple inches move instead of penalising monsters from crossing over buildings

    I suggest everyone doe’s themselves a favour and skips the hellstorm vid. This one is all you need and all hellstorm ever does is look for holes in obviously intended rules so he gets clicks.

    • @SimplyWarhammer
      @SimplyWarhammer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yer rules as intended vs rules as written, we all need common sense.
      I just thought I'd mention it as seems to be getting some traction even though its massively silly ! 😅

    You're showing examples of units with just one model. Not relevant. Should be units with many multiple models.
    What is some models are out of sight, some are partially visible and done ate fully visible? What then?

    • @SimplyWarhammer
      @SimplyWarhammer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry about the filmed examples, its partly time not trying to miss out needed detail.
      If you are shooting then only models within a unit that have line of sight can shoot, same as being in ranged. There is a funny interaction with ruins depending on whether the whole unit is in the terrain or not which impacts visibility. But generally if you can see one model in the squad and shoot it the whole unit takes the damage.
      Does that answer you question sorry or is there a specific example you'd like to discuss ?
