I've been watching Grady Judd for years. I'm an ex-con who found God through Christ and I know the real deal when I see one. No one's perfect but Grady Judd does a good job of showing us real leadership and accountability. I wish every county had a sheriff like this one.

This man is old school with a modern twist. He is the best law enforcement leader in the country. Residents of Polk County are so fortunate to have him.

No joke - I recently moved from Polk County, FL to Lake County, IN (Home of Gary, Indiana) and I was telling some guys a story about Sheriff Grady Judd and every last one of them knew exactly who he was and lamented that they were thankful he was not in charge in Lake County. HAAA!! It was pretty funny.
I think his department is working with partners from NY to CA. Since Michigan is right up the I 75 Corredor from Florida what he does helping stop drug trade in human trafficking has an impact on my state as well
Sheriff Judd is a hero of mine And I live in Seattle We have great officers here as well, but they are restricted in their actions. We do have some really great officers here though
Sheriff Judd is quite incorrect about the power of municipal officers to arrest for an arrest warrant. The power of the sheriff is to execute the warrant. Any peace officer, however, is independently empowered by statute to arrest with a warrant or without a warrant if a warrant exists and is possessed by any other peace officer. Please see 901.01, 901.1 and 901.16 of the Florida statutes. .01 says that the warrants are directed to the sheriff and may by him only be executed. .15 says that any officer can arrest without a warrant provided some other peace officer has such a warrant. .16 says that any peace officer may arrest if he has a warrant, but not need not have it in his possession at the time. It seems a bit redundant, but I guess the legislature is using the belt and suspenders method. Also, I don't know what in Florida law distinguishes execution of a warrant from arresting someone on the basis of the warrant, but either there is a difference or the language is a bit sloppy or some odd historical/constitutional convention that the inception of police officers required some wording to get around the 'only the sheriff' language, so arrest is spoken of as being different than executing a warrant even though the two acts are indistinguishable. Who knows. Don't mess with Tex... Florida!
in view of how he talked about minnesota i had the idea the had he been in charge of Minnesota instead of polk county george floyd would still be alive and not a household name and derek chauvin wouldn't have been in jail for murder, nor would he be a cop at all.

This is great. I’ve said this since the beginning of the whole Floyd issue. This isn’t a race thing, it’s a training thing. A Hispanic officer killed an unarmed black man while reaching for his ID AFTER being asked for it, a Black Somali officer killed a white lady who CALLED the police, then George Floyd, and now the taser incident. This is a training issue and like Judd said, none of the officers have any national accreditation. They need training and proper follow up with these officers. It’s really that simple.
