@Jaiden_Anime_Shuns So tell me, what is the difference between, let's say, shoplifting between a 15 year old and a 30 year old, other than one of them is a minor?
It's the same action. It's the same decision-making. The same result. It's the same damn crime. Age should not be a factor.

    • @davechanman

@@thepsychicspoon5984while I agree that crime is crime, each case is always going to be unique in their own way. However, regardless of the uniqueness of the situation, actions deliberately taken to cause harm to others should always be taken seriously. And when murder is at play, the concept of juvenile or adult should def be thrown out. A life is more valuable and sacred then anything else in the universe. Anyone who takes a life, should be prepared to have theirs taken away, be it life in prison or otherwise.

    • @askyourgirlboutme

@thepsychicspoon5984 the decision making between 15 and 30 are the same? You're delusional! Not in a case like shoplifting. You can't compare shoplifting to Homicide/Premeditated. The correct decision was made for trail as adults in this situation, though this doesn't work across the board.

Update for anyone wondering, the driver and adult involved Elijah Stansell, was found guilty of first degree murder and given a mandatory life sentence. I thought that too about the language he used. And he described the crime in detail. The public should be given these details. Years ago, I read the full details of the very well known UK murder of a child. It was especially high profile because the murderers were themselves children under the law. The full details were suppressed but his mother wanted them released and having read it I could see why. It was more horrific, more wicked than my mind could ever have imagined and knowing that information meant that i could never view his murderers with any shred of sympathy. It shaped how I felt about attempts to portray them as vulnerable children. I defy anyone who read those details to be in favour of the softly softly approach they received. .
I would hope no one wants to see children routinely locked up for the rest of their lives but surely that should depend on the individual and the details of the crime. A psychopath who actually enjoys inflicting pain, torturing and killing isnt going to "grow out of it".

Interesting comment Dennis and your father was so right. I worked as an airline pilot before I retired and the aircraft I flew had a cockpit crew of 2. There was also a jumpseat in the cockpit that was sometimes used by other pilots who were traveling to work or home when there were no seats available in the cabin. The jumpseat was also used by management pilots who were required to observe working crews on a periodic basis. As the Captain, whenever that jumpseat was occupied by a pilot, I always doubled my guard because adding another person to the mix just seemed to change the nature of things. For some reason when any two people are together it almost creates a new third person and and when 3 people are together it creates a different person? too. I suppose that is why you hear about so many horrific crimes that are committed when 2 or more seemingly harmless people get together.

I can’t say why it did but I am always reminded of my precious, tiny grandmother who lived alone. The murderer broke in through her guest room window and broke her neck! She wore hearing aids and didn’t hear him at first. All these yrs later I am reminded with all the violence we see and hear about in our world. Sheriff Judd, thank you for the amazing job you do in this day and time to help the citizens of Auburndale and surrounding counties to have a safer place to live.

If you’re 18 years old and you’re dating a 15-year-old that already is a red flag that says he is not all the way there upstairs to where he’s dating children.

I was dating an 18 yr old when I was 16....that was in the 60's and we were innocent virgins and really nothing like kids of today. My parents approved of it, knew his parents etc. We broke up the year I turned 18 and he went to University and met a sophisticated girl who......so he was a virgin until age 20. Kids were different back then, a lot of us anyway. No drugs, no alcohol, not even cigarettes. Honest to God.
