    I noticed you've put the star and bar on the underside of the starboard wing with two of the star points facing forwards. The star should have a single point facing forward as you've done on the top wing. The saying 'don't throw stones in glass houses' comes to mind. The blemishes and sink marks could have been filled and details re-scribed if you had taken the time to do this. Your video looked 'rushed'. I do agree with your comment about the canopy.

    • @yorkshiremanmodels
      @yorkshiremanmodels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      its not the first time i have made that mistake with the star
      i personally could have attempted to sand and redo the panel lines but i aint no fantastic modeller and i am the first to admit it as such i think i would have made it worse
      the video probably felt rushed due to the fact i wasnt having the "fun" i normally do when building kits
      modelling is just a hobby for me and i am just showing what i do and hope it helps others
      maybe if it had been 1 or 2 small issues with the kit i would have taken more time

    Oh no, this is my next kit, I bought it and many others before I discovered scalemates, the old revell p38 was my last kit and I have to say revell are on my don't bother list. Kinda new to scale modeling and I have learned a lot this past year, ebay sellers are very underhand from kit swapping (putting older kits in newer boxes) although this is the industry standard, also decal sheets and canopies missing. Before I just ordered the kit and put it away unopened for months then only later to discover the problem, now any kit I buy is well researched and scrutinized when delivered. You did a great job on this one so there is still hope.

    I am curious about this kit. I remember Revell had a 1:72nd P-51D that you could get in the two kits box set and I think it was shipped with a Ki-84 Hayate.
    But I dont remember Revell selling a 1:72 P-51B which made me wonder if this is the old Monogram 1:72nd kit that Revell could have acquired when they bought Monogram. But I dont remember the Monogram 1:72 P-51B having issues.

    Nah then! Are you from Donny by any chance? I grew up in Retford. Your accent sounds very close to mine. Anyhoo, I got this single P51B in a box of kits from M4H and I have just started the build.. I struggeld to get the cockpit assembly into the fuselage halfs, had to shave away quite abit of plastic from both sides of the instrument panel and bulk head to get it to sit so the upper fuselage sections around the front of the cockpit would join up. Then when I forced her together using clamps there was a strange 5mm gap in the forward section of the fuselage around the rear wheel well, which I will have to fill with some styrene. Thats as far as I have got at the mo, literally started the build whilst watching.. Im assuming that the kit is the same mould as this one and yet I dont have the flaws in the wings as you did, but still different issues that you didn't seem to have with your build.. Maybe this was the mould that was done by the guy who has been there ages and is literally part of the furniture, but comes to work overly aftershaved and with a little red eye going on. Drinks from a bottle of orange all day long whilst popping out his pressed kits from the machines...

    This appears to be a re box of Acadamy's kit. I built one and found serious accuracy issues. The plan form is wrong. The chord is too long at the wing root. Actually not too difficult to correct. The airfoil section is quite inaccurate and is impossible to correct. The rest of it could be a lot worse. It could be a lot better too. Arma Hobby's P-51B makes this look like garbage. Still I do have my Acadamy on display. When I build my Arma though,,,,,,,,

I grabbed my shoe and threw it to kitten but too late for me watched my shoe smashed couple of unpainted model displays into pieces as bad luck accident happened due myself was careless as my mistake while kitten escaped from my bedroom . I still love kitten grow beautiful cat alway sleep with me during nighttime till morning then cat attempted wake me up but few months later , my loved cat died due disease caused it lead cat lovers are complaining about lose their loved cats till animal veterinarian developed improved vaccine cure / destroy virus infection , saved cats’s life .
