Lmao! Its 22 years later and I'm watching these vides still grateful and just started because I didn't know I would have to sift threw trash polotics just to get here! Im not sure if this video was from my list of watches years ago, except if it was, I would still appreate this because it shows freedom, beside the yellow and black sticker! Really didn't know people where that off! You know? I can't wait to get my vehical tires and start building from there! I hope the build will work out!!! All these builds are awesome!!!!!!!

I bought a Habitat for my F350 and love it. I put a Goose Gear (GG) platform on half of the bed, leaving me with plenty of floor space to stealth camp when I don't want anyone to know I'm in there. I can even fit my mountain bike inside. On top of the GG platform I have a fridge/slide, kitchen/slide, and an additional (Luna) battery pack. I use it for family camping, beach days, and traveling for my consulting business. It rocks!

That sounds like the setup we're after. Any chance you have photos or info you could share further about your setup? Thank you.

Old Flip-Pac design was better, would love a design like that which looked like a regular canopy, they only came in dull white.

I got my Habitat in 2018 and absolutely love it. Having said that there is no way I could live full time in it. I have done an extended two week trip in it however.

The issue I have with it, is that you can't fill the back with gear, as you have to leave room to get into the tent. Plus, if the weather is bad, then you have nowhere really to cook etc. My standard roof top tent means I have to get up with a ladder, but I can cook out of the back if I have to and leave the mess till the morning.

You can use an extendable ladder and enter through the side windows.

      @swimmer8585 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

you can cook inside the tent part

You guys thinking of coming over to the truck camper 4x4 side? It’s totally the way to go. Maybe not as plush.

I plan to have a class b custom built when I retire, but I currently have a Nissan Frontier crew cab and would consider using something like this in the mean time. However, it's definitely not perfect. If you drive your truck daily like me, this might be too much have on all the time and a huge hassle to only use part-time. A simpler tent that just attaches to the truck bed, without the aluminum body might be a better and far less expensive solution, in my case.

Yep, looks like a great setup for someone who wants to pull a boat, ATVs, jet-skis, motorcycles, etc and live somewhere for a short time. I don't see it as a good full-time solution.

Very nice! I’d lean toward an EarthCruiser GZL, a FourWheel Camper or an XPCamper because of their hard sides but AT makes some really nice, light weight options for the backcountry camper. Thanks!

For 9K, I could buy a nice used ruck camper for my taco and be comfy in any type of weather.

I like the unit that EarthCruiser has for their vehicles ... and they use the Tacoma a lot for their builds. Be sure to check them out as well. A bit more suitable for me than this particular one. At my age I'm not going to be climbing around to get into one of these. LOL

My question would be how safe is it? Could anyone just pop it open and climb in or does it have a locking mechanism? Personally that would be too limited for me but Im spoiled. LOL

It's not an option for you. How are you going to lift Leo in & out every day. A good option for you would be a Phoenix Cruiser 4x4.

Instead of setting up a tent on the ground you set it up on top of your truck! #WTR

Tacoma is rated for 500 pounds in the rear... the slider floor is rated for 2000 pounds... unless they got legs on ground. Your stock springs will fold inside out...

All your shots were way too tight. A wide shot would have made more sense to see more when talking about the pop-up tent. Thanks for sharing though.

sure let him make a buck- but a dumb ass comment like contemplating living full-time in such a unit in the Usa will never happen. If you haven't figured it out by now this is more of a weekend (2 week) get away vehicle not an RV!!!
