Man…Thank you so much for trying to help others by taking the time to make this video. I’ve never done this before but after watching I feel 100% confident in doing so. Last night I myself got a cylinder 6 misfire, car sounded exactly the same. I was only a couple miles from home so I decided to risk it to get it there, made it with no issues. Hopefully my worst case scenario I just need an injector vs an engine, very stressful situation. I did notice right before the drivetrain malfunction popped up I smelled what seems like rubber/ plastic….NOT fuel Like heard others mention. Maybe I got lucky and just the coil took a dump, we’ll see, trying to stay somewhat optimistic lol. Anyways, thank you again! Got a sub from me my man!
@@WickedF82 Don’t know what the cause was. Everyone says injector.. .I find it hard to believe the injector failed when it ohms like a brand new one but whatever. I DO know what I was left with….80psi on cylinder 6. Currently looking an engine or finding someone to bore/ sleeve/ build mine.
@@erichoward518 I have a rough misfire, currently gonna swap coil and plug to another on a different bank. Hope maybe it’s one of those before getting a compression test and going with the worst
@@WickedF82 definitely try that first. If that doesn’t work try injector. If that still doesn’t fix the issue check compression….And just because a cylinder reads low, that doesn’t necessarily mean the cylinder has washed out. Could be a valve stuck open in the top end.
This is so indepth and nice. It deserves far more views and so does your channel if your other vids are at this level. This will help me in the future when I do injectors preemptively. Thanks!
Brilliant tutorial, and so much more involved than what I thought it would be, I’m only on 14k so hopefully won’t be needing to do this for a few years yet
The tightening order is for the B58 - any idea where to get B48 order? p.s did you actually bother changing the screws. I was hoping to skip that step Thanks
Great video on the step by step. This doesn’t really matter as apparently doing it this way worked. But my OCD is getting me. You are not tq’ing in the right sequence on the rail. The service manual has them labeled A,B,C,D. But that is just to notate the bolt. The sequence is A-D-B-C.
hi nice video but i have a question : do you know the capacity of this injector ? i don' find this information you think i can put injector of b58 in my engine b48 ? thank you for your futur reply and sorry for my english
So the injectors listed for the bosch ones dont show for a 440i which is my car, but all years of the m240i are listed. Would these work for a 2019 440i? its a gen 1 b58
The link for Bosch and OEM are for 330i. So b58 engine uses the same part? Also what is the different between Bosch and OEM injectors? The price is a big difference. I heard Bosch made this part for BMW.
Just for confirmation, could you please anyone tell me . Does the B38M engine has 3 fuel injectors (with direct inject) as it has 3 cylinder ? Thank you
Didn't have the tool for this model so I put wire thru the top bracket of the injector thru both holes made a " handle "by tying both ends of the wire together with about 4 to 6 inches of slack.... gave it a few tugs and came right out.
Hey Im going to attempt to do an injector replacement on my 340i. Mine is at 80k miles and under cold starts, the car sounds like its misfiring/cammed. once at normal temp it sounds normal. You think this is related to the injectors? There is no ethanol in the tank either.
Hi maybe you can help me My car 320 b48 on 1000-2000 rpm not every time but sometimes truggles choking in that’s rpm there no faults or check engine I make test on ista to check the fule mixture and it says cylinder 3 has a rich mixture Renew injector can it be my problem I’m with that problem about 6 months ?
My compressing does seem to be too big for the seals. No matter what side or size I use. Edit: for anyone that faces this same thing, the B58TU and S58 share the same size injectors. The B58 non TU is a different size. All seal kits I’ve seen are compatible with B58 non TU.
I don't change injectors on these engines. They are well washed and after checking the tesplans. th-cam.com/video/hmwRS2K6q5g/w-d-xo.html injectors sold in stores are Türkiye, and native ones are Germany.
MG trasher is the worst tune for bmw. Customer service was even worse. Blew a head gasket on a 2018 b46 within 1st 2 days. The power gain from mg was laughable. Complete waste of money.
I just did this today. And the video helped so much. THANK YOU !!
Car is running great.

Did it end up being the coil pack or the injector?

I have a 2016 B48 engine that cuts while driving, slight vibration in the engine, and an exhaust smell while accelerating without any codes.

Not really doing it for the views. Just for fun and to help out
@@BWBGarage hi there are the injectors easy to access on the b48 engine? Also once all 4 are changed do they need coding via computer?
@BWB Garage hi there I can't find the 3 digit code for my fuel injectors when coding? I have a UK bmw 330e?

It’s not too bad. If I’m not filming I can swap 3 in 15 minutes.

Did you have to compress the seal on the new injector?
This is great! Do you have the partnumber from BMW for the spacer? I lost mine and don’t have a 3D printer..😂
You can buy them on FCP Euro if you look it up
Great tutorial, thank you. You mention and show a PDF, where would i find that please?

Basically no difference. Go bosh if they are in stock!
Is there chance to just clean them ? Without change them ?
Great video. Do you need to remove the strut brace to access bank 2 injectors 4, 5, 6?
No you do not.

Can't find PDF link to specs
How many miles were you at? I’m at 67k and I’m going to buy some injectors this week to be safe
I was at about 75k miles. One after another they all started to fail. Have had to replace 5 of the 6 so far
Hi Mate can i do without the tool? Like pull out attached to the rail pressure thing? As i will renew them
maybe, but its worth the investment

I remember reading somewhere that the some of the nuts are one time use.
They are. All of the bolts are one time use. Ive reused them myself tho
Link for torque wrench?
mine has the same codes as well as a lambda probe code. and a cel and drivetrain does this sound the same? i have a b48 m235i gran coupe

Sounds like it could be an injector. Or maybe bad spark plug not burning well enough?
reset the injectors?
