Beautiful birds! Bali starlings are a species i hope to keep at some point, they are just stunning and its a shame to leave them go extinct. Javan green magpies are another one, ive always been fascinated by corvids of all kinds and they dont deserve extinction.

Hallo. Ich habe dich heute hier entdeckt, und bin sehr begeistert von deiner Arbeit. Ich selbst hatte schon als Teenager Wellensittiche und Zebrafinken. Heute Habe ich eine kleine Zimmervoliere mit Wellensittichen, Schmucksittichen und Bourkesittichen. Dennoch sehne ich mich zurück zu den Katharinas. 2020 ist ein guter Freund von mir gestorben, und seine Schwester bat mich, seine 4 Katharinas zu nehmen.. Ich lehnte erst ab. Dann erfuhr ich, dass der Sohn sie verschenken wolle. Ich habe mich dann mehrere Std. eingelesen und gesagt, sie zu übernehmen. Zu 4. lebten sie in einer kleinen Voliere von 1,20, total verdreckt und die Vögel wirkten nicht gut auf mich. Sie bekamen nur Körner und ab und zu Gurke und Apfel. Da ich mich aber eingelesen habe, konnte ich das Defizit erkennen. Voliere wurde gründlich gereinigt, Sitzgelegenheiten durch Natur ausgetauscht, kaufte eine 2. Voliere dazu. So hatten sie 2,70. Freiflug mit Sitz-und Knabbermöglichkeiten in meinem Wohnzimmer . Behutsam und mit viel Geduld gewöhnte ich sie an ihr Hauptfutter aus Gemüse und Obst, welches sie jeden Tag frisch geschnitten bekamen. Nach ca. 4 Wo waren sie schon viel munterer. Ich habe sie dann nach ca. 3 Monaten gesund und munter abgegeben, und sie leben nun in einer großen Voliere mit Artgenossen. Habe durch dich wieder Inspirationen erhalten und gelernt. >Danke. I keep softbills. I find them easier to keep and breed than parakeets or parrots. I keep Red Whiskered Bulbul, Laughing Thrushes, HIll Mynah Birds, Silver Eared Mesia, White Rumped Shama, White eyes, Golden Fronted Leafbirds, Asian koel and a few others.
They do very well on fruit, pellet mix, and the occasion insect. I also feed them guppy fish (which I breed myself) These small fish are full of protein and vitamins and are not fattening.
If your aviary is large you can mix species, but watch for aggression at breeding time. They prefer planted aviary with deep litter dirt floor for them to find worms and insects in.
When breeding give lots of insects of different varieties, and also scrambled eggs.
I have had no need to add vitamins or mineral as i feed a very varied diet, and all my birds get vitamin D from natural sunlight outside.
