Great review ! I'm French and I often watched this movie when I was a kid, and I absolutely loved it (and I still love this masterpiece). I think at that time I didn't quite realize the strangeness of the story because there are several dark fairy tales that French children are used to (such as Blue Beard). I think I naturally focused on the pretty colors that match together and that are visually appealing, and also I like the soundtrack so much (I think Michel Legrand's soundtracks are my favorites). I don't know why I always feel super nostalgic when Catherine Deneuve and the prince sing about their future lives...

I watched this all the time as a kid! Now that I’m very into fashion the costumes are making me go crazy with design ideas
I watched this at 3am by chance lol ...I couldn't not finish lol.. I could only imagine being very high watching it 😂
