I really like rewatchching the phase 1 movies because everyone is still so young and broken and it's been long enough I can genuinely relive the 'getting the team together' vibe
I was just like Roxy and here's why her attitude towards her own well-being is very problematic (maybe I'm reading too much into this, but here it goes) Just because others have it worse, does not make her own problems go away. I applaud her for being reflective and mindful of the things that are happening around her. She's clearly a very compassionate person, but watching Schindlers List when she's feeling down would only serve to suppress her own feelings, which is not healthy. There's a reason why she felt down in the first place and she's not doing herself any favors by forbidding herself from feeling that way from time to time. There absolutely comes a point where we all have to reevaluate the weight of our problems and put it into perspective, but we need to solve them first. I was the same. I felt ashamed for feeling down and depressed, when others had it so much worse. In my case it was a clear sign that I was carrying a lot of shame and a lack of self-worth and I was constantly putting others needs above my own. I wouldn't allow myself to examine the reasons for my 'downness' with honesty, because I was ashamed to feel that way, like 'How dare I feel this way, when I'm comparatively so privileged?' We're all human. And again, just because others have it worse, doesn't make our problems go away. So, Roxy, if you're reading this: Don't watch Schindlers List when you feel down. You're not selfish for taking care of your own well-being. And in the wise words of RuPaul: “If you don't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?” 🤗
Thank you guys for putting in the extra long day so that we could all have something light hearted to enjoy and distract while the proverbial is hitting the fan.
Ah.. Empire Records. Worked at a video store in the 90s and this was on regularly. All employees would stop and yell "SHOPLIFTER" along with Ethan Embry.
When the show Chuck came out when I was in HS it hit me hard. As teenage geek Chuck getting to watch a tv show about a geek named Chuck that struggles to live up & grows ever more confident (when forced to be a spy). Everything about that was created for me.
I am with Roxy on this. I love to read The Diving Bell and The Butterfly when I feel that my life is bad just to remember that others have it a lot worse and they preserve.
I used to work in bars and clubs throwing regular nights. I remember long days fixing the stage, or being there stocking shelves or cleaning out backrooms. 2 decades later my comfort movie is still Roadhouse.
YES to the beautiful rainswept downs & dialogue of Austen when I need to escape. And Lord of the Rings, where I can soak in that world, laugh, weep, and return to our world with renewed hope!
In my opinion, the best Feel Good Films are the ones that end Happy-Sad. It's those films that teach us that even though there is and will be so much pain in life, there is still also so much that is good that you can and should hold onto. Avengers: Endgame, Your Name (Kimi no na Wa), Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Sing Street are all films from the past few years that fit the bill as Feel Good Films of the moment that scratch the Happy-Sad itch. There are of course tons more from over the years, but these are just a few of the more recent ones I loved.
16:38 I feel this sooooo much when I was laid off from my Job in Sept 2016 I was absolutely crest fallen, I felt like such a failure. While browsing Crunchyroll they were hyping up re-watching "Re: Zero" in anticipation for the season finale so I chose to relived Subaru's journey & misery & it really helped me. I started a new job like 2 weeks after that, & I'm still there now :)
This episode is a delight, magical, and makes you feel good. (Even with Skeletor & Death Vader doing funky stuff...) 🤣 "Weight-lifting" "Force push" "Myaaaah!" "fantastic powers" My feel good films Marvel Cinematic (any film) Spider-Verse Aladdin (animated) The Little Mermaid Who Framed Roger Rabbit The Mask Bruce Almighty Rush Hour The Sorcerer's Apprentice Felix the Cat (the movie) Fast & the Furious (any film in the series)
I'm so glad Jane Austen was mentioned because Pride and Prejudice (2005) is my favorite feel-good movie. I also watch Gifted (such a beautiful film) and Rogue One a lot...
Thanks to Roxy I remembered that I do own some comedy movies such as My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Mean Girls. I also enjoy watching sci-fi stuff though this is more tv shows such as lost or star trek.
Force snacks for Vader. My feel goods are the classics. Fiddler on the roof, a white Christmas, Mr Smith goes to Washington, princess bride, and sound of music etc etc.
Oh wow, I FELT Roxy’s answer. Yeah, absolutely, her reasoning is spot-on. I’ve absolutely watched devastating films in order to remind myself that whatever I’m feeling, though momentarily important, is on some level small potatoes.
As much as I hate why you're having to pretape, I've been loving them. My favorite feel good movie has been Josie and the Pussycats for a long time. It's super dumb but makes me very happy. Last night I finally got around to watching The Happening and that had been added to my list too. All these years that Dan has been hyping that movie and it lived up to the hype!
The minute I saw the topic of “feel good movies,” (and I haven’t seen it in awhile actually) I immediately thought of the Cusack flick “One Crazy Summer.” Classic 80s fun.
Emma. While Screen Junkies may not be the place I would LOVE for you to talk all about your love for the Nightmare on Elm Street movies on some other TH-cam like place. I adore those films too. It sure would make me feel good during this time. Heck, The Dream Master is my feel good film.
Old episodes of SJU with segway Roth is always a great watch As for movies and TV Fifth Element About a Boy Shawshank Redemption Star Trek: First Contact Pride and Prejudice (the mini series) The "San Junipero" episode of Black Mirror Futurama Star Trek TNG Kung Fu
Skeletor "myaaaah. Might be wondering how I got here in this position. Well..." Darth Vader "shhh stay still" Wait where I was going with this. No, no naughty fanfic
This has got to be the last of the pre-tapes they are so punchy. I really wanna see this panel in a Quarantine (from home) episode, so we can see them stir crazy and not tired crazy.
I'm a bit sad tha t nobody mentioned horror movies. When I'm a bit down, I LOVE a good cheesy horror movie. Any remakes, any sequels 3 and higher, any comedy horror. Ultimate feel good.
You guys, I would literally watch the show even if it was just you guys sitting around the table drinking. Not even drinking alcohol, just drinking water. Or just film Joe dancing and nothing else.
Listen, I love Royal Tenenbaums. it's top 5 for me. But I mean it's melancholy and bittersweet AF. It makes me feel a whole ton, but I'm not sure I'd call it a feel good movie. For me feel good (especially with little investment) could just be busting out some MST3K--say Final Sacrifice-- or if I want more amp-age I'd go with an older Jackie Chan like Police Story or Wheels on Meals. If I want the feels like Tenenbaums and want to sink deep into the dad-sad while enveloped in resonant organ music I go Interstellar. Want to revel in some righteous anger? John Wick.
Fun Fact: Skeletor going down on Darth Vader is what's called the Trench Run.
I love that everyone else is still changing shirts even though Emma is in the most eye catching green jump suit of all time.
Emma's green jumpsuit has really grown on me over the last few episodes.
You should get that checked by a doctor...
You all are so punchy - how many pre-tapes in a row is this? So cute!
SJU is at its best when they all get loopy and weird 😂
I find The Avengers to be a feel good movie for many reasons.
I really like rewatchching the phase 1 movies because everyone is still so young and broken and it's been long enough I can genuinely relive the 'getting the team together' vibe
"That my friends, is the Rise of Skywalker"!!!! So Awesome!!!!!

24:30 goes towards my theory that Spencer is the Rosa Diaz of the office 🤣
Also, Glad to hear of someone else so happy and wholesome!
The first 5 minutes of this episode is big Day 10 (11?) of Quarantine energy

I'm glad I'm not the only one who needed the Royal Tenenbaums "Needle In The Hay" scene.

Watching you guys make me feel good!
Also, great job Roxy with "Skeletor, I am your daddy"
It took over 4 minutes to ask the first question lol. I love this show
06:13 Joe -“Speed’s a good pick me up ”.... 🤔😂🤣
Didn't feel like doing or watching anything. Almost skipped this one. Thank you for that intro.

I gotta say my goto feel good movie is Galaxy Quest! Oh yeah yeah. 😜
Lovin' a SkeleVader
Lovin' up when he's goin' down...
Totally agree with Emma on the whole crying thing. I love it.
It’s been a while, but Amélie (The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain).
Roxy's face when joe said the rise of Skywalker joke killed me 😂😂
Fun stuff. Thank you so much for banking so many episodes. Hope everything is go well for the crew in front of and behind the camera.
16:38 I feel this sooooo much when I was laid off from my Job in Sept 2016 I was absolutely crest fallen, I felt like such a failure. When you come back live you should wear the exact same thing as you did during the pre tape to mess with us
I'm a simple man...I see San and Moro, I press like.

This was my all time favorite episode of SJU. I was dying 🤣💀
Surprised no one came up with "The Power of Greyskull"
This episode is a delight, magical, and makes you feel good. (Even with Skeletor & Death Vader doing funky stuff...) 🤣

I am so happy you guys are still doing videos. 😌 you're one of the few sources of daily entertainment I have throughout the day 😁 much love!
I don't know what that move is called, but it is followed by 'a turn to the dark side'.
Thanks to Roxy I remembered that I do own some comedy movies such as My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Mean Girls. I also enjoy watching sci-fi stuff though this is more tv shows such as lost or star trek.
I love Roxy’s way of saying boo

Stay safe Guys
How many of these did you guys tape?
Start with Princess Mononoke, followed by Speed Racer, and finish Laputa: Castle in the Sky

By the way that action figure pose is called "The Villain Cream-Up." 😉
