No one will ever know or understand how much I love this band except real Iron Maiden fans. Iron Maiden are so amazing so special I am so blessed and grateful I had the pleasure of seeing them live. Greatest night of my life.
True Maiden fans understand brother, the last 2 shows I’ve seen they’ve had amazing setlists but the fans only reacted during songs like the trooper or hallowed which is a slap in the face to the band. I hope they play this again one day before they call it quits, hopefully 10 years from now 😅
My favourite Iron Maiden song. Has everything. Brilliant lyrics, guitar riff, melodies and a haunting instrumental. All added together to make it a Masterpiece!
This just proves, that out of all metal bands, Maiden has the best musicianship! Dave & Adrian's harmonies and batteling solos, Bruce's operatic vocals, Steve's galloping bass and Nicko's innovative drum work. These guys are just so damn talented. Even late into their 50s! And what is even greater, is that they still seems to be enjoying themselves on stage! Unlike most other bands from their era (Metallica, KISS, Sabbath, Slayer, Megadeth etc.) Maiden just keeps challenging themselves, without loosing what Maiden truly is. They still seem inspired as f*ck, and that is why I am a fan 🙏
wow man you are so fucking right. I am 14 years old and i have seen iron maiden 2 times already, and this year i am going to see them in antwerpen, and every damn time i see the maidens i am amazed by their music their talent and their energy. those guys show so much passion when they play great songs like this one. if i see metallica on stage they look old and they can't really do this anymore, but Iron Maiden plays as if they are still eighteen thats so incredible.
@102654516722313044437 My thoughts exactly! 100p agree. They still set the standards for how a rock concert should be, which is incredible since they are all in their end 50s! And great that you keep following them. We must remember that every show can be the last in these years, so we have to see them while we can (though I think Maiden has many years ahead of them.) I myself have seen them 8 times in 21 years. My first show was at the Roskilde Festival at the Brave New World-tour in 2000 ☺️
Shashank Mishra Janick Gers is the Man, i like adrian but when he left there was void to fill and Janick surpassed that space with his talent and charisma, his stage presence is the spark Maiden needed and i’m glad they let him stay when adrian decided to come back. had they let him go maiden probably wouldn’t be what it is today and many of the songs people love wouldn’t exist because Janick helped write many songs.
man i almost cried when the bruce's scream part came and then guitar solos.. this is legendary.. iron maiden is the biggest part of heavy metal history
Not just a great song, but the poem by Samuel Taylor Ccolridge is epic. I read the poem first, which lead me to listen to the song. I must say that I love them both.
Hey man, there’s a clip on TH-cam of Ian McKellen (the guy who played Gandalf in lord of the rings in case you didn’t know who I meant) reading the poem. He has an epic voice for it. I like the poem too 👌🏻
at 9:30 the explosion of energy that's been building up goes through the roof! Smith, Murray and Gers tear through their solos with the machine-gun precision, while Harris shows why he's one of the greatest bass players in history! I wonder how many miles Steve Harris' fingers have traveled over his chugging bass! All time awesome!
Fuck yeah man!! that part makes me squirt the encephalic mass! those 3 guitars and it's Harris can not anymore brother is the fucking master, his fingers are the fastest I've seen

At 8.04 the first signs of madness begins, and tears starts to flow down my cheeks At 9.10 the build-up to madness starts, and my heart starts to go mental At 9.28 the madness is unleashed, and my heart can barely handle the pressure And at 10.31 the momentum of total madness is completed, and when it's over at 10.56, I lay dead on the ground, demised by the unstoppable power of Iron Maiden! Seriously though, the part 08.04-10.56 is probably the greatest and most insane piece of music ever produced by human race. I have never witnessed something closer to total human perfection in my life, and I doubt this can ever be topped. It's unreal, it can't be physically possible. But that's the power of Iron Maiden right? They can expand the limits of whats possible to achieve, they have the power to create something bigger than life and world itself. God bless these boys!
Totally in agreement with your remark. That specific section its like the summit and culmination of all heavy metal forces combined. Powerful beyond description, sublime and incomparable. For me its the greatest heavy metal moment EVER. Nothing is really even close.
Martin and Eduardo: ΥES! This is it, the greatest, the highest moment in heavy metal music, from its birth up to these days. It cannot go higher than this. Martin described it perfectly!
One of the best heavy metal songs in existence. A true epic masterpiece. And this live version is just incredible. !!! IRON MAIDEN !!! UP THE IRONS !!!!
I'm 45 and love them more than ever. Still remember that 1st time I heard Run to the Hills as a young fella, was 11 years old and changed my life forever.
This song always makes me a bit emotional. So much passion and magic behind it. Has to be one of the best Heavy Metal songs every written in the history of the genre. Up the Irons!!!!
Iron Maiden is one of those few warrior bands that hold strong against time and still be able to gather 3 family generations in the same show headbanging the fuck out their souls. That is raw power!!!
this a masterpiece, for me the best song of Iron Maiden, several changes across the song, a magnificent riff on the guitar, battery solos, bass solo, Dickinson with his great voice and movements on the stage, just amazing
I love to see so many young people in Maiden concerts!! This band's music doesn't age at all!!! I remember seeing some Kids ( 10 or a bit more) with Maiden and Slayer T-shirts in a Sepultura live! That was amazing, this music will never die! Up the Irons!!! \_/ ^ ^
Kevin Walker "Wrong"? What is that mean? It is wrong when someone have different opinion than you? Judas Priest are one of my favorite bands, but Maiden are on the top of the list.
Nois =)
Hear the rime of the ancient mariner See his eye as he stops one of three Mesmerizes one of the wedding guests Stay here and listen to the nightmares of the sea And the music plays on, as the bride passes by Caught by his spell and the mariner tells his tale Driven south to the land of the snow and ice To a place where nobody's been Through the snow fog flies on the albatross Hailed in God's name, hoping good luck it brings And the ship sails on, back to the North Through the fog and ice and the albatross follows on The mariner kills the bird of good omen His shipmates cry against what he's done But when the fog clears, they justify him And make themselves a part of the crime Sailing on and on and north across the sea Sailing on and on and north 'til all is calm The albatross begins with its vengeance A terrible curse a thirst has begun His shipmates blame bad luck on the mariner About his neck, the dead bird is hung And the curse goes on and on at sea And the curse goes on and on for them and me "Day after day, day after day We stuck nor breath nor motion As idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean Water, water everywhere and All the boards did shrink Water, water everywhere nor any drop to drink." There calls the mariner There comes a ship over the line But how can she sail with no wind in her sails and no tide See, onward she comes Onward she nears out of the sun See, she has no crew She has no life, wait but here's two Death and she life in death They throw their dice for the crew She wins the mariner and he belongs to her now Then, crew one by one They drop down dead, two hundred men She, she, life in death She lets him live, her chosen one "One after one by the star dogged moon Too quick for groan or sigh Each turned his face with a ghastly pang And cursed me with his eye Four times fifty living men (And I heard nor sigh nor groan) With heavy thump, a lifeless lump They dropped down one by one." The curse it lives on in their eyes The mariner he wished he'd die Along with the sea creatures But they lived on, so did he And by the light of the moon He prays for their beauty not doom With heart he blesses them God's creatures all of them too Then the spell starts to break The albatross falls from his neck Sinks down like lead into the sea Then down in falls comes the rain Hear the groans of the long dead seamen See them stir and they start to rise Bodies lifted by good spirits None of them speak and they're lifeless in their eyes And revenge is still sought, penance starts again Cast into a trance and the nightmare carries on Now the curse is finally lifted And the mariner sights his home Spirits go from the long dead bodies Form their own light and the mariner's left alone And then a boat came sailing towards him It was a joy he could not believe The pilot's boat, his son and the hermit Penance of life will fall onto him And the ship it sinks like lead into the sea And the hermit shrives the mariner of his sins The mariner's bound to tell of his story To tell this tale wherever he goes To teach God's word by his own example That we must love all things that God made And the wedding guest's a sad and wiser man And the tale goes on and on and on
A band that has survived almost 40 yrs without needing to change who they are at their core and having a worldwide fan base that reaches the millions these are not only legends of metal but music in general
I can see minibuckers and hot rails in them. No single coils in sight. Dead easy to install them if you want a guitar that sounds good for cheap. And with those strats and that train of gear they became one of the greatest bands of all time, a cornerstone in heavy metal music. Point stands.

Yeah well said...what a classic tune...loved too have written it....
Its our responsability.

Yup. But I would put it up against the 9th symphony. That’s Beethoven’s best work.
For me the "Bohemian Rhapsody" of Metal. Full of changes, theatrical, great (re) commence, fantastinc ending. Just perfect.
I agree and Mr. Dickson is the Freddie Mercury of Metal, damn shit he sings like insanly good
That would be Holy Wars by Megadeth since it actually shares almost the same structure and changes with BR

Never realized that. Brilliant.
That's years and years of working together, knowing each other and most importantly, being two humble individuals that they are!! 🤘🏻😀
I believe you're referring to the moment right after Adrian had a cross-eyed spasm at the song's climax.

At 9.28 the madness is unleashed, and my heart can barely handle the pressure
And at 10.31 the momentum of total madness is completed, and when it's over at 10.56, I lay dead on the ground, demised by the unstoppable power of Iron Maiden!
Absolutely 💯
Martin and Eduardo: ΥES! This is it, the greatest, the highest moment in heavy metal music, from its birth up to these days. It cannot go higher than this. Martin described it perfectly!
They have the power to bend spacetime and warp us into Andromeda
I understand you bro
Damn! This song with three guitars sounds even better than the original...
The effort they put into telling a story through visuals and story is absolutely magical
One of the best heavy metal songs in existence. A true epic masterpiece. And this live version is just incredible.
!!! IRON MAIDEN !!!
UP THE IRONS !!!!
I'm 47 years old it's great I can still see my favorite band in concert they still kick ass
I'm 45 and love them more than ever. Still remember that 1st time I heard Run to the Hills as a young fella, was 11 years old and changed my life forever.

9:29 - the most epic moment in the history of metal =D
I can't live without
This song always makes me a bit emotional.
40 years out and still kicks as much ass as when it first came out.
Maybe even a little more.
Tears over my face... Epic.. epic... epic... Beautiful and Epic! Thank You Iron Maiden!!
I cried too when listened this song. Is impressive.
+Joan Baez There's no crying in heavy metal! :-)
Xavier Thomas Your silence is better..
+Joan Baez thanks, i thought i was the only one... especially at the end, master piece
Steve Harris - the only guy who never gets a break, in this song. haha
this a masterpiece, for me the best song of Iron Maiden, several changes across the song, a magnificent riff on the guitar, battery solos, bass solo, Dickinson with his great voice and movements on the stage, just amazing
10:12 is one of the gloriest moments in Metal history.
I love to see so many young people in Maiden concerts!! This band's music doesn't age at all!!! I remember seeing some Kids ( 10 or a bit more) with Maiden and Slayer T-shirts in a Sepultura live! That was amazing, this music will never die! Up the Irons!!! \_/ ^ ^
I also forgot, Maiden has the best Fans in the world!!!!
Sobek croc True
Sobek croc i've seen Maiden pencil boxes for kinder-gardeners! Kids these days are actually growing up more bad-ass than we were.

Maiden has actually inspired fans from all over the workd. I am from india and here we swear by Maiden's name
From 9:10-9:40 the amount of energy coming from that place must have been fucking massive.
One of the best LIVE performances of all times! Their playing, singing, recording, video! UP THE IRONS!!!
They really had 3 guitarists in that line up rocking tf out
9:10 prepare for the best re-intro ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
orange avocado Hell Yeah!
I get chills every time I get it.
Probably the greatest pair of guitar solos i've ever heard 9:41
I especially love when Dave take over the Adrian part and smoothly continues.
Kevin Walker "Wrong"? What is that mean? It is wrong when someone have different opinion than you?
Judas Priest are one of my favorite bands, but Maiden are on the top of the list.
👍👍
One of the most underrated songs by Iron Maiden! Up the irons!
SINCERAMENTE, EU NUNCA ESCUTEI ALGO TÃO PERFEITO NA VIDA, SEM DUVIDAS A MELHOR MUSICA DO IRON MAIDEN. OBRIGADO IRON MAIDEN!!
Completely and utterly EPIC...
fala isso n cara ;-;
Nois =)
Hear the rime of the ancient mariner
See his eye as he stops one of three
Mesmerizes one of the wedding guests
Stay here and listen to the nightmares of the sea
And the music plays on, as the bride passes by
Caught by his spell and the mariner tells his tale
Driven south to the land of the snow and ice
To a place where nobody's been
Through the snow fog flies on the albatross
Hailed in God's name, hoping good luck it brings
And the ship sails on, back to the North
Through the fog and ice and the albatross follows on
The mariner kills the bird of good omen
His shipmates cry against what he's done
But when the fog clears, they justify him
And make themselves a part of the crime
Sailing on and on and north across the sea
Sailing on and on and north 'til all is calm
The albatross begins with its vengeance
A terrible curse a thirst has begun
His shipmates blame bad luck on the mariner
About his neck, the dead bird is hung
And the curse goes on and on at sea
And the curse goes on and on for them and me
"Day after day, day after day
We stuck nor breath nor motion
As idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean
Water, water everywhere and
All the boards did shrink
Water, water everywhere nor any drop to drink."
There calls the mariner
There comes a ship over the line
But how can she sail with no wind in her sails and no tide
See, onward she comes
Onward she nears out of the sun
See, she has no crew
She has no life, wait but here's two
Death and she life in death
They throw their dice for the crew
She wins the mariner and he belongs to her now
Then, crew one by one
They drop down dead, two hundred men
She, she, life in death
She lets him live, her chosen one
"One after one by the star dogged moon
Too quick for groan or sigh
Each turned his face with a ghastly pang
And cursed me with his eye
Four times fifty living men
(And I heard nor sigh nor groan)
With heavy thump, a lifeless lump
They dropped down one by one."
The curse it lives on in their eyes
The mariner he wished he'd die
Along with the sea creatures
But they lived on, so did he
And by the light of the moon
He prays for their beauty not doom
With heart he blesses them
God's creatures all of them too
Then the spell starts to break
The albatross falls from his neck
Sinks down like lead into the sea
Then down in falls comes the rain
Hear the groans of the long dead seamen
See them stir and they start to rise
Bodies lifted by good spirits
None of them speak and they're lifeless in their eyes
And revenge is still sought, penance starts again
Cast into a trance and the nightmare carries on
Now the curse is finally lifted
And the mariner sights his home
Spirits go from the long dead bodies
Form their own light and the mariner's left alone
And then a boat came sailing towards him
It was a joy he could not believe
The pilot's boat, his son and the hermit
Penance of life will fall onto him
And the ship it sinks like lead into the sea
And the hermit shrives the mariner of his sins
The mariner's bound to tell of his story
To tell this tale wherever he goes
To teach God's word by his own example
That we must love all things that God made
And the wedding guest's a sad and wiser man
And the tale goes on and on and on
Not even a single note here and there...Ohhh the perfection and precision of Iron Maiden makes them the G.O.A.T.S of metal genres...🔥🔥🔥
This thing is EPIC ..... One of the greatest songs and live performances ever !
God Damn Iron Maiden fucking ROCKS!
A band that has survived almost 40 yrs without needing to change who they are at their core and having a worldwide fan base that reaches the millions these are not only legends of metal but music in general
I really admire Bruce. He's fairly old, but more energic than me.
Holy shit Adrian!!!!! 9:40

Possibly one of the best songs ever. Up the Irons!!!!
Inspiring, gentlemen; one of the greatest poems in the English language! Samuel Taylor Coleridge lives again!
North Wind yes. it is every word from the poem and nothing else.
Chris Adams rrrex really UT tyd
"This is what not to do if a bird shits on you"
hehehehehe, damn right!
I absolutely love this little moment with the three amigos at 11:00
That shows how much fun they have playing together, I was at that show and it was awesome
If there’s any way a song can surpass perfection, this is it!
Everytime I watch this DVD, be it the movie or the show, I get tears in my eyes.
Laurent Jade me too
How can Bruce still be so good? I'm glad he is, but he is on fire here. Fight on, Air Siren, and keep rocking, man.
"You can't metal with a Strat!"
Iron Maiden:
"hold my pick"
Ritchie Blackmore: Hold my flaming exploding amplifier!
They have mini humbuckers on them if I see well.
Except there are three racks of effects per guitar
I can see minibuckers and hot rails in them. No single coils in sight. Dead easy to install them if you want a guitar that sounds good for cheap.
And with those strats and that train of gear they became one of the greatest bands of all time, a cornerstone in heavy metal music.
Point stands.
