Thanks so much for this video. Please show us some real time temp numbers on how much cooler the trans is running. Thanks again for your great videos, and stay BOOSTED!!
Do you have the part number for the filter? I have the same setup but I forgot to get the part number for the filter. And where I got it from has no mention of the part or filter number. Thanks for the video if you can help.
Boosted Great videos!! I just got the Edge 3500 stall converter so the BM Pan seems the right choice for extra trans fluid and cooling, I know its been only a couple of weeks , my Question is how,s the cooling compared to the stock pan ? any problems ,leaks? Race seasons coming up ,going to Run the truck Hard! Thanks again for all your Videos
The problem i have is if you service it and changing out the trans filter the problem is do u have to buy the deep pan everytime u change it or is there a part number for the trans filter?
No you just change the filter, like in any normal metal panned trans. You one need a new pan if cnaged the OG plasitc one as the filter is part of it. Ifeel if you did not pick this up from the video you should get somone eles to do your servicing.
I couldn’t find the filter replacement or the price of the filter when it comes time to change it. This is pretty important for consumers when it comes to making educated financial decisions and for them not having it on Holley seems a little sketchy to me. That’s just my opinion.
What do I need to get my 2012 ram I currently have a 6speed but wanting to purchase a stage 1 transmission 8speed and wondering what do I need to make it work and what I need so I can purchase and do it myself
I installed one of these on my Ram 1500 the other day. I filled it until it ran out of the fill plug. I refuse to do that ridiculously complicated check procedure. The extra capacity of this pan ensures there’s enough fluid in there. I’m not jacking a vehicle and getting under it while it is running. That’s insane.
I’ve seen some BMW 8HP70 videos that replace the rubber seals, mechatronic sleeve and even shift solenoids on the valve body. Have you done this on the ram 8hp70?
Is this oil pan compatible with the oem mopar transmission oil pan gasket? I plan on buying this kit for my Challenger srt8, and I was wondering if it is before I buy it
Greetings! I'm looking to purchase however, I can't seem to find the replacement filters on their website. Any link or idea? Also any idea how many miles the filters are good for?
What are the chances of the filter assembly working loose and falling into the pan? Do ribs in pan support filter or are the two close enough that filter will not drop? If filter detaches, fluid pressure will be lost.
I went with the PPE pan. There are MANY fluids approved for ZF. Don’t believe the magical unicorn fluid is the only fluid choices you have. Mine runs perfect on Valvoline! Custom 93 and ZF tuned.
Sure you can use something else but it’s not going to live as long as it will with the original fluid especially if you are pushing high HP or heavy towing. Original fluid these transmissions are strong
@@96cr i drilled a hole in the plastic pan, caught the old oil in a container that I had premarked with quart markings to keep track of what came out. Made the refill a little easier knowing exactly what came out.
As always, Google has proven itself to be completely useless and I need some info. I need the depth of this pan to make sure it will clear the skid plate on my '86 Ramcharger. { yep, a Ramcharger with a 410 stroker and an 8HP70 mated to a 208 transfer case} Also the part number for the filter or another application that uses it. All results for this pan say filter not included. I googled the part number for the filter that is in the online instruction PDF and got nothing. Various other wordings also netted nothing. Thanks.
Adds Additional 4-quart Fluid Capacity as he did not mention.
Just ordered an edge stall, and you go and show me this…. Well let’s order that too
I just replaced my pan on the family junker (charger 392 Daytona) and used Amsoil fluid. So far I have experienced improvement with whine noise.
Been looking at this for my ram 1500. Glad you’re doing a video!
A definite improvement over buying a filter/pan assembly every time you need to service an 8 speed auto.
For sure 💪

Running valvoline on my transmission no issues also I went with the ppe oil pan

have a 2016 ram 1500. will be doing a fluid change this spring would be a nice upgrade.

Seeing that this pan is so expensive and adds another $100 in extra fluid I'd just run the dorman that has its own filter that can be replaced
I like the PPE pan better because of the secure filter I didn't want to chance the filter falling off.

How many quarts does it take to fill this deeper pan?
Where do u buy the filter for this pan and do u know the part number
Do they make one of these for the 8HP75?
Were can i get replacement filter ?
Great video! So, how does the 8HP70 not self-destruct behind the 6.2?
Are you still running the OE thermostatic switch on that trans? I wish somebody made an exhaust like that to get away from the trans
What do I need to get my 2012 ram I currently have a 6speed but wanting to purchase a stage 1 transmission 8speed and wondering what do I need to make it work and what I need so I can purchase and do it myself
Dang I need this!! Hold a couple extra quarts of royal purple max atf!
Would you please post a fill procedure. Thanks

Are you gonna put the charger dash in the ram that would be cool
Whats the temperature difference before and after? Street and highway
What year did they start doing the 8 speed ?
How much fluid did you use and what gasket did you use or where did you get it?

I like that pan . I watched the procedure video my question is it would be the same procedure just the b&m pan holds a little more fluid
Thanks
Yes same procedure as the fluid fill hole is on the transmission. Only difference will be it will take more fluid to get it to fill.
@@BoostedMotorsports cool thanks love these mods for my ram
My throttle body I got from you
Still running great love it
Is there not a gasket with this pan?

I dont think it has enough room to move down and detach.
Whats is your opinion about the PPE pan?
Did you use any type of RTV or anything on the gasket?
great content...
thumbs up

Does the PPE pan or this pan fit on a 845re for my 3.6L v6?
nice video !!! we want the Charger
I bet the pan cost a fortune! Just now serviced my dodge ram tranny today! Ordered seven quarts thru Amazon. Only took five qts?
That thing is huge. Not sure i like how low it hangs. I think i prefer the ppe
My dealer tried to tell me the transmission fluid is not changeable.
Well the manufacturer zf says 50,000 miles service
Install transmission air cooler batter then stock cooler give transmission long life and batter cooling
Can the 8HP70 be mated to a 4.7L Magnum Engine?
Yes. 4.7L and 5.7L (and all hemi's) share the same bolt pattern.
If replacing the plastic pan. When dealing with the crossover y pipe why not just carefully drill a hole in the plastic pan to drain it.
You can there's also a drain plug from the factory but you need a special Allen key because it's by the exhaust

Is it just me or does that pan look like it holds more oil
Should have a better gasket, that cork one is JUNK>.!!!
