- Finally, arriving in the last room. we encounter Flandre Scarlet, the most popular character of all time in the Touhou series, and she's now ready to play with us. Along with her recreation theme playing in a gramophone.
In a recent news, Flandre Scarlet took the top 1 spot in the Touhou 18th Popularity Poll, so this recreation is made as a way to congratulate the vampire.
As someone who wondered and question the aspect of this theme and how it got its attention, the composition itself is very unusual. It has a huge contrast when comparing it with Remilia's theme which is bizarre. Although, knowing about Flandre's character background. it makes sense.
This theme is embodied with loneliness and insanity within the human understanding. Isolated as she was, the theme captures that illusion where we think that the notes sound off to the beat (but in reality, it's still in the beat). Quite an interesting harmony it has, but not crazy the key change is (there is no actual key change in this track, it just goes back and forth which doesn't count as actual key modulation). If this theme is popular due to its quirky nature, It can be said that most arrangements have such emphasis to its eccentric vibe.
Talking about recreating this theme, like most other EoSD themes that were recreated, the mix has its clarity and removed chorus effect on all instruments. but coincidentally, it sounded as nearly perfect as it would sound like in the original (minus the mixing difference). the clarity of the mix meant that the subtle sounds from the original are now shown in this recreation mix. and most of these subtle instruments make this theme sound more interesting (often than not).
Overall, this theme carried a huge role to the community. with the character's popularity as well as the impact that was caused outside Touhou, It did mean something to it....

Normally I don't like remixes of certain themes, because the original instruments gave it a certain vibe. In this particular instance, I feel the same vibe from the instruments. Just they're better quality. So recreation is definitely a good term to use, and it's done quite well
It's kinda weird hearing Touhou music this clear, but it just makes it all the better. It's almost like listening to it the first time again which I didn't was possible! Bravo Arti, these are definitely some good vibes.

No its because he physically cannot make anything bad. (Zuns music is pretty decent.) However there are immensely better game osts that are better.

@@guncatto2625 yes, you are. You're comparing two entirely different genres of music because they both happen to be video game music, and doom eternals music is so wildly different from touhou that preference is entirely subjective.
hearing it without all the chorus feels a bit strange. the original lead kinda hurts my ears so im glad it's less piercing in this recreation lol. great job recreating all the eosd boss themes btw!
This is a really great remake! better than most I've heard! Definitely one my my favorites so far.
I just wanted to throw out there that it sounds like the info you had gotten for Flandre is outdated. What you're describing sounds like fanon Flandre. In the manga, she states that she is willingly a recluse because she's comfortable and gets fed regularly. She knows she's well taken care of so she hangs out alone in her room because that's what she prefers. She's just overly exciteable and mischievious with too much power for her own good. She's not insane, she's just a child. FOREVER. It's like letting an uncontrollable gorilla play with a puppy. Might not want to kill it but accidents happen when you don't know how to control your insanely powerful abilities.

Please if you want/can complete 6 and 7's recreations, the music really shows its age, for example Yuyuko's theme sounds really harsh even though it's beautiful due to Zun's mix.
