Love how the angrier Orthax gets, the higher pitch his voice gets. Almost to the point where he's less demon and more like screaming child who's upset his favorite toy broke
@tigerstorm6622 agreed, lol. That being said, cosmic law must be followed. To remove a dammed soul from ownership of its bargained demon( no matter how dubious) is a very big deal. One that carries heavy consequences. Even gods must abide. The only exceptions are if the demon broke his contract or if the terms of the deal were not honored for examples. And there is a case for it as well since orthax used another contacted soul to end the life of percy.
In the game this actually happened pretty similarly. Taliesin, Percy's player, was listening in on the resurrection ritual from off set and in a text chat with Matt. It wasn't a matter of just casting a spell and bringing Percy back to life, they had to convince his soul to return too. Appeals to his duty to Whitestone, to his friends, to his people, none of that would have worked. It was only Vex's declaration of love that actually reached Percy's soul and convinced him to return. Taliesin was fully prepared and willing to let Percy's story end with Ripley killing him, it was poetic as it was tragic. Vex basically had to convince *him* to let Percy come back to life.
That whole ritual could've gone badly in so many ways; even Taliesin himself said as much. It took some really strong skill checks and a plea from the party (especially Laura/Vex) to bring him back.

I love how the shot of Percy is framed of him looking down as he hammers the pistol, surrounded by sparks and embers, while the mirror of that is Vex looking down at Percy, shedding a tear. Fire and water and all that. Brilliant work.
I just clicked that when Orthax says ,,Percival deserves this" he just ,,echoes" the thing that The Matron said to Vax earlier this episode. While we know Percy changed from after his deal with Orthax, his destiny/fate didn't. He was supposed to be in his domain, even if we (and Vax) are very much against it. (I'm singleing out Vax here because he has the ability to change fate, but like the whole of Vox Machina are against it)
Kinda sorta? *spoilers from this point* Percy dies in the group fight against Ripley and Orthax (In which the group utterly dogpiles her following that). Its ultimately Vex willing to confess her love for Percy that makes the ressurection ritual successful but that happens I believe later that session or at the start of the next one. He is back up by the time they fight Thordak and Raishan.
She used her blood to restore the groups minds in episode 7 when her usual powers apparently failed...at this point its not clear exactly how much she has rejected her goddess, how much of what she is doing is her new powers. We will be waiting until next season for answers
I think her throwing away the amulet was just her way of expressing she doesn't need her faith as a crutch. She still worships her goddess but also believes in herself and that the right thing to do may sometimes go against her goddess's will.
Watch the episode again and look for unusual images. If you can't bc you're only watching TH-cam clips well....next season you'll see (redacted) show up in like 30 peoples channels.
He can still make guns. He's mind is brilliant. He just needed that spark of guidance from Orthax. But he will go on to make many weapons in the series unique to him and this world.
*SEMI-SPOILERS FOR THE LATER CAMPAIGNS* He does end up outfitting the entirety of Whitestone's military qith with rifles and still has his own hand gun and rifle (whether are still just Animus and Bad News is still unknown).
