Exploder destroys the moster that desroyed it. But headlong woudve been the one that destoyed it, not ur monster. So the monster is safe
Special summoning is getting way out of hand. With stuff like Red Eyes and Naturia dominating, we need either more life points or cards that counter special summons HARD.
Mordin Solus well there's control deck that runs 3 heavy flame knight which counters them pretty hard
Maybe dyna-fossil? It may seem a bit early but it would scare everyone from heavily relying in special summons. It's too slow in TCG but here it will work cause flip effects are still relevant in duel links. If that's too op then maybe vanity's.
Mordin Solus Heavy knight of the flame, super rush headlong, and even basic tech cards like mirror wall and windstorm can counter red eyes and Naturia. If you want to counter them run control or look into ice barrier deck.
How to fix special summoning in duel links:limit the copy of cards you can have in your extra,main and side deck from 3 to 1.
They should add Tag Duels and another column. It would be so fun :D Bump the LP to 8000 for Tag duels too.

So far been doing quite well with it.
One of the biggest draws to Duel Links for me is how fast the duels actually play out. compared to Hearthstone and MTG, I rarely have the 15-20 minute matches that are pretty much common in those games in Duel Links. Does it suck to get OTK'd, sure, but I'd rather lose quickly than have it drawn out

I love your Duel links videos, seeing how you're in for just the joy of playing random decks over the competitive meta which is literally cancer at this moment in time. Funnily enough, I have outstanding matches when i've got your videos playing when it comes to PVP and I just managed to get back into Platinum again while watching this video.

Hey shady have been watching you for a while since duel links started and you helped me get back into yu gi oh so much so. I do free to play and it's really difficult sometimes lol but watching you play and seeing your decks I've gotten a lot better and finally got into platinum. Thanks for the tips bro.
Alternative cards for this deck: Covering Fire, Sphere Kuriboh, Soul Exchange. Also my favourite combo tribute Mask Beast with Tiki For another Mask Beast & take your oponents monster very trolly.

Hey Shady, I played a similar deck with Des Gardius, and my advice would be to run restart instead of power of dark, since bricking is more costly than not having yami. Also I run soul exchange so I don't always need a monster already on the field to get Des Gardius out.
Naturia doesnt need nerfing. Beatdown needs nerfing as that provides the OTK possibility. Also naturia can brick alot with only 6 monsters that can be normal summoned and 6 tributes. The OTK doesnt happen very often and bricks more at least for me.

I feel like duel links is turning into the TCG with most decks focusing on just OTKs.
couldnt you add veil of darkness to help with speeding up the deck or do you think it will slow it down?
Shady you show have toggled on and activated it during the battle phase so that you do get kuribiohed. That card is activatable during attack declaration
I was so stupid last pvp session, I tried to ladder as hard as I could and now I’m on legend rank 1 and I have 24 wins so far, yet I get about one win for every 5 loses...I highly recommend staying in gold or plat if you want to reach 100 wins like I did last session to get the tickets.

Suggestion:
I think "balance" is better than "power of dark" in this deck. Power of dark will only give you +200 and your strongest monster is 1500🤔. There are many 1800 ATK monsters in the current meta.
Hey Shady, here's a deck for you to #deckcheck. Basically it's Ishizu with Fairy smile, you have 1 Venus, 2 Shine Balls, , 2 Zolga, 1 Mudora (or Doma if Ishizu isn't at level 40), 2 Mercury, 1 Angel 07, 2 Freya and 1 Shinato. Spell Cards obviously 1 Shinato's Ark, 1 Court of Justice, 2 Super Rush Headlong, 1 Shard of greed, 1 Econ, then 1 Eye of truth, and 1 (maybe 2) mirror walls. Hope it works out, and if you recommend any changes, feel free to let me know. Happy Dueling. :)

This deck makes me wanna play my own IRL Dark Necrofear deck. So fun to play and DN is one of my favorite cards of all time.

Wizard Bear I've got like 7 million points, and every card 3x besides Jeroid.
I know you play different decks in every episode, and these cards are a bit harder to obtain than Feint Plan, but Soul Resurrection and Regretful Rebirth have pretty decent synergy in this deck. Cards like those let you bring back the monsters long enough to buy time and also keep the field filled. Could also prob knock the Dog down to 2 and add a Mirror Wall to help for extra tech.
New Naturia deck is broken. Phoenix is broken. Red-Eyes decks are broken. I feel like Hammer Shark was a good high point for a speed duel format deck. I also always liked how some counter/slow decks played like Parasites. These new top 3 decks listed above are ruining PvP in my opinion.
Phoenix is fine bc they'll eventually just end up blowing themselves up. Naturia and Red Eyes are obnoxious
Gavin Mahoney red eyes is the broken 1 because they can draw way too quickly.
Oh how things change over time. Just look at the meta now compared to your comment. None of the decks you listed even breach tier 2 at this point anymore.

I built my own Des Gardius deck with varying success rates ( I have limited cards and I would not say I am overly good at the game) but one card I am using which I think may be really useful for this deck, seen as you say its one lacking feature is card draw, is Veil of Darkness. Just allows you to cycle dark monsters into the grave so you can
a) get to the stalling traps or super rush headlong
b) get fiends into the grave for Necrofear summoning
c) cycle in to find the monsters you need
Caligo Crow is also a nice card as you can summon a fiend, special summon crow and then special summon Des Gardius in one turn.
Edit: I commented before the Caligo Crow was used by the Yami Marik, shhhhh.
Totally agree with you on the OTK bs. It's cool if it happens once in a blue moon but it's seems like with naturia decks that's the only way for them to climb. It honestly kills the game for me because a turn based game should have a way to respond to plays done per turn. Great videos shady!

I really like running Caligo Crows in the Des Gardius deck; it becomes really quick at times.
Can you try making a genex deck? They're not great, but personally I think they're fun to play.

Edit this as you will, just keep the main theme of level 4 1800 (or higher) ATK monsters being as strong as they can get with equip cards. The deck's name is The 4th Level and I have only lost 4 duels in the month i'v been using it.
I like to run lava golem and mask of accursed with des gardius both for theme reasons and to counteract the fact you could go minus by stalling. It's fairly effective.

I'd say they need to make sure beatdown only works turn 5 and onwards. That way both of you get 2 turns before you can buff shit with 600. Then again, it isnt really as powerful as last gamble, so maybe saying "on your second turn", which would at least stop those first turn otk like shady had in his first duel
OTK decks are why I play a balance control deck. Counters all of the OTK decks like Naturia and Red Eyes

Shady , the invader of darkness could go great with mausoleum of the emperor and supremacy berries. It allow you to normal summon him just by paying 2000 lp , then use supremacy Berry to go back up

I finally got off gold one and at gold 5 with a very similar deck. Tho i use Bakura with fiend farewell and i usually only use it to get that final fiend for necrofear.

34:23 not trying to be mean.but just pointing it out. shady could've used super rush headlong. and his masked beast would survive, just letting you know that. its only by battle that exploder dragon's effect goes off.
The thing is. The reason OTK is so strong is because it's in Duel Links. You play with smaller decks and lower life points, so pulling off this stuff is insanely easy.
Doomdog Octhros is a good pup and deserves treats and ear scritches.
Super Rush Headling does prevent exploder dragon from killing your monster.

Shady I agree with the otk I play less duel links now then I use to. I started playing a lot of Elder Scrolls Legends. Those games are usually a lot longer and it's kind of like Hearthstone but with Elder Scrolls.

I think adding Trance Archfiends and Sphere Kuribohs to this deck would make it better instead of having a fient plan and maybe 2 of the 6 cards needed to summon Masked Beast. You get to recycle cards banished with Trance Archfiend so you can recycle the kuribohs

super rush headlong was a mistake. i dreaded them ever putting sakuretsu in the game. they put an even more broken card instead. i have been working on a direct attack deck with shadow slayer but i still consider this card a mistake.
I also run a Masked Beast deck with necrofear but I only use two doomdogs because I tend to draw into the level 8 monsters too often and then to dogs are almost useless. I also wonder if you could make a Lava Golem variant...
I feel like they should possibly bump the life points up slightly for duel links now, they're are so many cards that can be easily summoned, and can take away over half your life points in one turn, I don't know how konami would do it, but otk's can be a problem
But saying that a lot of people who play naturia's get cucked if they go first, and naturia players never play a monster until you play one, so it can be played around, shame it can't be done for all deck types though
the super rush headlong destroy exploder dragon. dragon effect wont activate cause headlong is skill ED is effect is battle. Headlong before battle contact destroy the monster. basically no battle happen
One thing that I can appreciate about the Pokémon TCG is that you can't get tossed on your neck on the first turn thaaaat easily. Like, you can still have pretty silly-long combos on turn one, but you can still only attack once and knock out one defending Pokémon. (Unless you're Medicham from Ancient Origins, but that's an evo card, so you have to have Wally to pull that and I think his attack needs multiple energy so whatever.) And the person who goes first can't attack your Pokémon, so you have some sort of time to react to whatever they can pull on t1. And as EX cards get rotated out of Standard, you won't even be able to have those really potent cards out as quickly; stuff like Decidueye-GX still needs to go up from a Rowlet to a Dartrix to Decidueye first. Idk how that could really relate back to Duel Links, but you asked about otk and stuff, so! :D
I run a deck similar to this, but I only run 2 of the tiki elder or four faced beasts, and then 3 gil garths with archfiend palabyrinth. I like the use of a feint plan, but i often find that this deck doesnt have enough power if you dont get the masked beast out, and its kinda tough if you dont have it

honestly before the paradox event , the game was slightly better , you only had to worry about kaibaman, relinquished, harpies , tea burn ,weevil burn, clown control now 5 of the freaken meta decks are alll otks , hammershark, redeyes,naturia, toon world , and gemini zombies , special summoning 3 monsters ruined the game like this was a meme before now it reality -_-

Naturia isn't an OTK deck, its a fast deck. It merely has the potential to OTK. That being said, any good hand can beat a brick hand.
Artistic Studios Shady is playing a deck that can OTK quite easily in the right situation, just like Naturia. He shouldn't really be complaining just because his requires more setup.

I tried out super rush head long on an exploder dragon and it does prevent the exploder dragon effect

I got KoG with this deck but you gotta run Caligo Claw Crow and Duel, standby. It's sooooo good. Open with the combo almost ever game.
If you activated super rush headlong when exploder Dragon attacked, it would've stopped it from destroying masked beast since exploder dragons effect on destroys monsters when exploder Dragon is destroyed by BATTLE, super rush headlong would of destroyed through an effect thus saving yoyr masked beast
Regarding what you said about the state of duel links atm, OTKs are neither inherently good or bad for the game. Currently a lot of the better decks now have OTK potential (Red-Eyes, Phoenix) but others are also very control-based (Statue Control, Hammer Shark). If a deck has OTK potential, that doesn't mean the deck takes any less skill to pilot optimally - the Red-Eyes mirror match is an example of a matchup where the better player will be winning most of the time simply because there's a lot to consider regarding REZD taking control of each others' REZD, and Phoenix decks are one of the more difficult decks to pilot optimally because they always have a lot of options of what to do.
My philosophy is that if you dislike OTKs, don't use a deck that enables you to get OTK'd easily.

that mask spell card is the best against losing because missing cards

OTK decks are fun to me solely because i enjoy that in the full game, i just find a problem with the optimization and duelist skills making those easier
OTK naturia and second turn win red eyes decks are waaayyyy too common. It's getting to the point where I get sick of the app after like 3 duels because that's all I face anymore really
What you need is Golden Apples! Gives you a monster on the field, recovers LifePoints, and then you can place your Grand Tiki or Melchid, sacrifice, and win. Do like the NPCs do

Not even kidding, I'm playing alongside Shady and right after his loss to the Kaiba Naturia I got OTK-ed by a Kaiba Naturia with a perfect hand xD
Just as a note i personally have been able to beat the first turn naturia OTK with a red eyes all dragon deck.
you should run 4 of the masked beast tribute monsters and 3 crows that get special summoned if you have a dark monster so you can summon the big boi on the same turn (also soul exchange works great aswell
I use an OTK Elements Unite Deck with the Paradox Bros. I use a bunch of healing cards include Skull Mark Ladybug to get back the LP lost when using the skill to get Gate Guardian out on turn 1 so while using the Alpha, Beta, & Delta the Magnet Warrior because I didn't get Gamma the Magnet Warrior so I use Gamma to send one copy of Alpha or Beta to the graveyard in order to summon Valkyrion The Magna Warrior by banishing four combined copies of Alpha & Beta While also using Jar Of Avarice to get Sanga, Suijin, & Kazejin back into the deck to be able to send two monsters to the graveyard. I also use Labyrinth Wall but not Wall Shadow anymore because it has to be special summoned from the deck & not the hand or graveyard. It's a high risk high reward deck.

Take out one Masked Beast and add in the 8 star fiend Invader monster, it helps with consistency and it's good for Econ and Super Rush.
