  • Something that I missed in video:
    If you have auto bed leveling issue, first thing you should try is adding M420 S1 on your starting G code. What it does is tell the printer to load the bed mesh that auto bed leveling feature stored. It does work for some, include one of my sv06.
    Hi, another instruction types of videos. I purposely make this video with many details instruction and information. I think it will help the beginner the most. But it kills a lot of my brain cell and time from brainstorm the content, writing script, recording video, asking help from next “ex-wife” to recording, editing.
    I am focus on digging to some of the part that may easily be ignore by experience player but will helpful to beginner. I am aim to not only showing you how to do it but also telling you the reason behind it, that way you will learn quicker. In the end of the day, you need to do a lots trouble shooting during your 3d printing journey. These knowledges will help you more than just show you how to do it.
    So, I am planning to make these types of assembly, bed leveling, and calibration video for every printer that I reviewed.
    Anyway, if you think this video is helpful, please let me know in the comments. Or, you think there is something that I didn’t cover, please let me and others know. If you have suggestions to improvement, free feel to let me know. Your support is the reason why spend time making these videos.
    Good Luck! AND happy printing!

    You need to add the "Fade" command to the M420 code line. M420 S1 Z3 Here is why. The M420 code just calls the mesh from the EPROM storage of the last leveling. If you do a bed auto-level and everything is fine, there is no need to auto-level again unless something changes. It just wastes time. So, add M420 S1 Z3 to the GCODE start line just after the G28 (home) command. It HAS to be after G28 because G28 clears all mesh data. The M420 S1 Z3 reloads it. The "Z" switch is the Fade command. It "fades" the mesh back to real life level over the number of layers in the "number" part of the command. I use 3. This gives you MUCH more accurate parts.

      Great inforn man!! I just use M420 S1after G28, it seems works fine so far.

    • @tvideo1189
      @tvideo1189 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SvgLau Yes, that works. But it also incurs high processing and motor loads, keeping the Z motors constantly turning, and inducing inaccuracies. The fade switch literally turns off the Z part of the mesh (gradually, over the number of layers selected) and is more accurate overall.

    I also highly recommend putting the electronics fan on the same circuit as the heatsink fan, the wiring as it is from factory only turns on with the part cooling fan. If you print high temp materials, most of which require little to no part cooling your electronics will not be cooled either. Even worse those materials typically need an enclosure, further compounding the lack of cooling.
    I find it kind of amazing that a printer advertised for high temp materials would have this cooling setup.

    7:40 shows the only problem I've had with mine, which was the bed heating cable. I found that my cable naturally layed beneath the bed rather than running behind as you've shown. This led to improper Y Homing, as the cable would snag before the Y axis achieved it's actual maximum position.

    Hi Savage Lau! Thank you so much for putting this all together. I followed your instructions (including downloading the sv06 profile and importing it into the slicer) and tried to print and had my prints are slightly off center. When I use the Prusa Slicer plus the Ender 3 Bed Leveling Oink file. Instead of having space at the end like 14:26. It just goes all the way to the edge?
    Am I doing something wrong?

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I will first make sure the extruder will move all the way to the left of x axis and bed will move all the way forward on y axis during homing. If there is debris on the linear rod may leading this issue. Or your heat bed cable on the back of build plate could caught on the frame on rear during homing. IF homing does go all the way of it's travel, there is something to do with slicer setting/g code/ or my configuration. Which is less likely. But keep me update if that works.

So when I tried to print Benchy, it printed towards the top of the bed, rather then the center. When I use a slicer, placing things towards the bottom in the slicer puts them in the middle of the bed, while placing them in the middle puts them near the top. Is there any way to fix this?

    I have one qeustion i have a small craptastic printer and resin printer.

    Is the sv06 accurate enough to print functional things?

    • @SvgLau

      I think both sv06 and sv06 plus offers best value per dallor. I have play around sv06 plus for months now, there will be a review video come out soon. As far as print quality goes, both printers are good. I personally do a lot of functional parts, mechanical design prototype with these two machine, no complaint yet. Now, the biggest down side of these two are noise and parts availability. MK4 is good printer, (a little better than sv06 in all aspects) but almost double/triple the cost. 😅You make the call.

    Nice video mate, great job!
    I have a question and I would love if you can help me with it.
    Basically I am using PETG and PLA filament and I am also using the slicer that was integrated in the SD card that came with the printer(I had issues using Cura directly, print came with too many defects). However now I am facing some issues. The first one is that there are small defects on some of my prints, which are not the end of the world but it it's still visible. The second one is that a lot of times the extruder randomly stops extruding midprint. After that I have to change the filament to make it push material again. It happened like 3 times at around 90-98% of the prints already, and it's rly strange issue.. Any help is highly welcome, thank you!

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau  ปีที่แล้ว

      I will suggest to try prusaslicer first, I have the profile on the description. The none extrusion issue seems strange to me but I have seen some people have this problem while printing slik pla filament. But not with the regular pla or petg. Also, something you could check is the extruder gear set. If you are not afraid of open it up, check the screws on the gears set and see if they are tight correctly. (Seen some people reported lose one from factory). But I will first try with prusa slicer and see if it works. Then the gears set on extruder is the next troubleshooting part.

    On my SV06, the sensor was too high compared to the nozzle. So the printer kept running into the bed. Only when I lowered the sensor could the bed be leveled.
    Successful bed leveling is a prerequisite for successful printing.
    The sensor can only sense magnetic surfaces.
    This always ignores a glass plate. He drives into glass without seeing it.

      Decrease the z offset value. I should say bring the nozzle away from the printer bed a bit more, 0.010 by a time and try it. The most comon causes for rough top finish is too low z offset. Also you can increase the top layer on slicer setting. Normally I do 5 solid layers on slicer if I want it to look better. Let me know if it works.

      @@eaglee247 same on both of mine. -2.18 is all good value. Now you need to think about adding manul bed mesh or do something else to make it more flat. Or, if you are lazy like me, as long as it print for now in the center we just print for now.

    I really liked this video, but the music in the background makes parts of it hard to understand. I wish content creators would STOP adding music to their videos. It is not needed and is more of an annoyance.
    Edit: Since I've just recently bought this same machine, and since your video has many good pointers to using it, I've decided to (for the first time) test out some audio stripping software. I plan to strip out the music so I can watch this video the way it should have been made. With nothing but the sound of your voice.

      Thank you for your input! I have been think if I should remove background music on my video. It was intent to smooth out the flow of the video. But I guess it did not work out so well.

    The SV06 is too noisy for my liking and I returned mine without opening it. All the TH-cam videos demonstrate the annoying noisy bearings.
    I’ll stick with my Creality E3 S1 Pros and Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro printers until I move up to Bambu Labs printers. Your videos and others show how noisy this sucker is. Imagine a room full of them running. I have 12 printers with bed roller bearings and the print room is fairly quiet with them all running.

      I actually have the printer and it's not that noisy and I am sleeping in the same room. There was some issue related to the printer sound, you can search for fix, however it's not the issue with the printer itself

      My second unit sv06 is a lot more quiet out of box.

      If you think the SV06 is loud the Bambu printers are like living next to a train station in comparison. Also, how did you know your particular unit was too noisy without even using it? Genuinely curious.

      Budget printers (sub 300) typically have some quality control issues which is part of the reason the price is lower. One thing that is often bad is the bearings. I saw another video where the black plastic cover holding the bearings in had actually opened and half the bearings were missing and had fallen out. There are several options for replacing the bearings that start as low as 10 dollars for 10 bearings. A lot of times adding lube will fix or reduce the noise.
      Obviously not all printers in this category have issues but they are certainly more likely than 500+ models and the bearings produce the most noise, especially if they are bad. Second is the fans but not much you can do outside upgrading those also which is why I chose the SV06 over the Endor 3, it's completely open source. Not that the Endor 3 can't be upgraded though but I always like open source products because of community support and mods.
