    I liked how this was a longer story with extra characters. It is much more realistic of situations that are happening with women, their partners and families. Minimizing the pregnant women’s needs and feelings is not helpful at all. Off course, there are other things that happened but it is difficult in the scope of the story. Brad said it would be different when the baby was born, but he did not demonstrate with care and concern for his partner during the pregnancy. He would have been the same after the baby was born, being too tired to help with the baby/house and leaving it all to his wife. She would have been back at work, baby in daycare and trying to do all the chores and care of the baby, putting in at least twice the hours than the eight hours that Brad works. Divorce is unfortunate, but in her situation her mental health would have worsened when the baby was born.

    A lot of the people complain about the longer stories. I don’t get that. There are plenty of channels that have fifteen and twenty minute stories that they can listen to. I love that this channel does long form stories. For one thing, I feel more attached to the characters when we get to spend a little more time getting to know them. It also cuts out these tricks to save time like where people are instantly married or divorced and more realistic timelines are done.
    I’m a big fan of audiobooks and podcasts so that’s what it feels like to me, an audio drama just with visuals.
    And on a practical level, I work from home and having a longer story means I’m spending less time fiddling with my iPad to find something to listen to while I’m working from my computer.
    Just wanted Apple texts to know there are people who appreciate these long stories.

      It's not about the length of the story itself; I like audiobooks as well, so no problem with that. But the unnecessary repetition of the same facts make them reeeeaaally boring! It takes ages before coming to the point or a change, they just drag on and on. I still give them a try; but when I have to listen to the same stuff for at least 3 times (first when it actually happens, second when OP tells another character about it, third when said charakter summarizes the main facts yet again) it is simply annoying and ridiculous and gets skipped! I haven't entirely given up my hopes by now, as I like the vas on this channel; but I fully understand everyone leaving as a result

She's a mess. And Brad was right, she wasn't forced to. If she gives into guilt trip, that's on her but she pretends to care about him to his face to make herself look good. The only person I have sympathy for in this story is poor David.

    If you’re going to keep making longer videos, like this, can we at least get some chapters put into this? Or at the very least a five minute TLDR at the end of the video? This used to be my favorite of the Appleverse channels, but this is starting to get ridiculous. If I wanted 80 minutes of White Noise to fall asleep to, I would put on an aquarium soundtrack.
    I get it you’re trying to appease the algorithm to an extent, but with 90% of your video is just filler, I just don’t see the point. You’d honestly be better off doing like, eight or 12 hour long compilation of your greatest hits of the last two years. At least, then, I can task in the glory of the past videos where things were at least somewhat interesting, even if sometimes they made less sense than a three dollar bill.

      @@KCohere33 it’s Not so much the length, it’s the pacing. Most of the recent stories have 45-50 minutes of build, half of which is usually unnecessary, 5 minutes of rushed consequences that half the time don’t even make sense, and the epilogue. At least before, the consequences usually started about halfway through and made sense for the most part.

    • @KCohere33
      @KCohere33 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thecornettmultiverse I disagree about the rushed consequences. I think the longer stories take more care with the build up. The shorter stories are the ones where everything seems rushed. For example, the videos where people are instantly divorced. I don’t think the purpose of these long stories are to get to the punchline quickly but just for people who like longer stories because they’re listening while they’re working or doing chores. But not everything is for everyone. If you prefer short videos, there are plenty but they’re just as repetitive if not more.

    Why is a pregnant woman moving furniture and mowing lawns?.. why can't these wives just say NO?!.. they never put their unborn child and their health first.. they just allow these abusive husbands and MIL'S to put them and their child at risk.. when I was pregnant my husband didn't want me doing anything.. he even wanted me to quit my job as it involved a lot of standing, taking stairs and walking.. he wanted to keep us both safe. He was upset when I refused to quit and be on bed rest like the dr said.. I just can't stay in bed all day. He knows that.. I'm not sure why she even wanted a child with brad? she's never been able to rely on him BEFORE the pregnancy. he's never had her back or her best interest at heart. Did she think a baby would change him?. He was the same lazy, good for nothing shytty husband before the baby and he'll continue to be a shytty husband. He doesn't help her with anything. How does she think it'll be when that baby comes? It will be 100× worse. Now she'll have a newborn, brad and MIL to take care of.. having a newborn isn't a joke. They need your constant attention. They wake up every 2 hours wanting to be fed, burped and changed. God help you if they don't immediately go back to sleep after that.. you'll be up half the night. I would've gotten the hell away from brad and his shytty mom.

    I'm sure I'll be shot down like a burning Spitfire but... having been pregnant seven times, I really don't understand these stories. Of course the mother-in-law should stop behaving so badly but being pregnant is a natural bodily function, one we are specifically designed to undertake. I had insane amounts of energy, nesting is a powerful thing! Of course, everything is new in a first pregnancy but how on earth do these women think they will possibly cope with a third or fourth pregnancy?!!!
    I was lambing throughout the night whilst caring for a three year old and breast feeding a two year old, a one year old and a one week old baby. I had orphaned lambs in the kitchens which required bottle feeding every hour and I still had an estate to run. I also suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum for at least seven months of each pregnancy, not a lot of fun. Every week I would spend one night with an IV for fluids and safe antiemetics. The only things I could eat were apples and liver. We have babies when we are young because we have the energy to cope with the birth and the work.
    Naturally, men should be supporting their wives in any way possible but please, unless one is suffering from a medical complication of pregnancy, get a grip.

    • @SapphirasMama
      @SapphirasMama 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well there is a few things to consider. It's not just about the amount of stress that Tina felt, but also how she was treated. I can hear a woman who is crying out for support, empathy and physical help. Tina was telling Brad what she was needing and in turn also telling her MIL what she needed, but both just ignored it, blaming hormones. The extreme pressure her body was going through is telling in the story. Brad was doing absolutely nothing in the house. Actually he was increasing the load already on her body. Tina was saying multiple times: "please help me. Please take some of the load that is already upon me". Yes some women can do amazing things and handle multiple situations at one time while pregnant. But others have great difficulty to the point where it starts to kill the mother. On top of that, MIL was adding to the problem, guilting Tina into doing extra tasks. Both MIL and Brad believed that cause Tina was at home that she had nothing to worry about and had all the free time in the world. You can hear in the part where Haley steps in saying she will help serve and both Brad and MIL kept insisting Tina do it. Tina's body was in overdrive and you can tell by the conversation with the doctor. Her stress levels were becoming more extreme and I am surprised they didn't put Tina on bed rest. When you have a husband that doesn't give two hoots about his wife, shows to be a mama's boy and can't look after himself, then you can see how bad it truly is. Step into Tina's shoes. You are super unwell, your partner demands to be treated as king, your MIL prioritises social events over family and having to get everything ready before baby comes, you can see what she is trying to say.

    All these stories illustrate the need for people to understand having a backbone verses running rough shod over people. The OP needs a back bone, the FIL needs a backbone stop "keeping the peace" a little less peace now means more peace later when the MIL and husband learn that they can't be such selfish twats and have the spineless ones take all the damage of "keeping the peace". The MIL and husband definitely need lessons in not ignoring other people's feelings and issues because it would inconvenience them. But again this is a bad communication story... if you clearly say no and stick to it- that communicates something as well as if you clearly say no and then do it for the peace. It's like when your kids are young and going through the picky stage you can make individual meals for everyone OR you can let them go without eating one meal. Assuming of course there isn't a medical reason why they can't skip a meal it won't hurt them- I am very thankful that when mine were in that stage I had my pediatrician reassure me that skipping a meal wouldn't hurt them. Teach boundaries, respect other people's and hold your own firm that is how you reduce stress in the long term- at the very least don't give into the manipulator's demands that you join their conspiracy against their partner knowing they are being shit humans. Start putting yourself in the other person's place would you want to know if your partner/ loved one was treating another loved one so shitty? I know I would because I would not be telling them to suck it up I'd be going to have a talk with the person acting badly.

Being pregnant twice I understand how it goes n everyones pregnancy is different n not right to expect other people to do things for you but being pregnant Does mean you can't do anything at all. You can still do most until birth. And you have to keep active, it helps with labor. Of course take breaks. What is going to happen if she has a second child? What will happen to first child? If you can be pampered and everything that's great. But to expect it and doesn't happen then it's going to be hell for both of you during pregnancy. So just divorce? Complain about no father? Having to raise on her own? There was no cheating, beating. No giving a second chance and then if still same shit then divorce? It's wrong
