    My parents moved into a "continuum of care" community in Lancaster Pennsylvania USA. it was expensive, but they got a nice roomy apartment, lived independently until dad needed help... and the full time care is included in the price.
    dad had in home hospice care and nursing, so he didnt have to leave home, but mom had help.
    now that mom is widowed, she still lives independently in the apartment, but when she broke her hip she moved into full time rehab just across the building until she was ok to live alone again. she has a huge number of friends and is very active and busy. its a great relief knowing that she is cared for but not... cooped up or stagnant

    I was so lucky that I had a concerned husband that he hired a house helper that cleaned the house for me. Then he hired a nice lady who helped me clean the bottles and did the laundry. I was able to take my 3 1/2 year old to school and pick her up. She only came in the mornings but it was a big help. I also had a diaper service that picked up the dirty diapers and left the clean diapers. My older daughter helped me with folding them and putting them away. Having twins is not so easy. I’m not sure if I ever told him what his caring did for me.

    Most people go to work, and yes, it’s hard, but most people still have to do work around the house. And raising twins must be a hundred times harder than any job out there. I can’t even imagine how hard that is. If you are a parent you have to take part of raising them. If you have a job you get to go home and be done with it. Being a parent is a 24/7 job, you can’t say «it’s 5pm, I am done».

    Plot Twist: One hot summer day Ethan was taken away by scary men in a black van. He showed months later working the street corners handing out contraceptives for 5cents before he was kidnapped again. And this time for good. On halloween, some bones showed up washed up on the beach. To this day, no one knows where he is, nor a missing person reports filed. Others says those are Ethan's bones. Others say he is still out there somewhere stressed out, haggard, and constantly worse than broke, constantly changing identities to avoid the scary men as whenever he sees one pass by, his high pitched screams usually give him away and he is on the run again.

    The "putting mom in a nursing home" one hits home. My mom, who has been on the other side of that equation for 50+ years as a LTC (Long Term Care) nurse as its called in Ontario, Canada, is coming up to a point that she may have to go into a home (not necessarily a full care one, but definitely one that has some care). My dad just passed away last year so she's now thinking on that and apparently, they had been thinking on it a bit before Dad's sudden passing (stroke took his life) since both were getting more and more frail.
    She turns 86 in a couple of weeks. Dad was 90 when he passed. Mom can't move in with me as my husband and me live in a multiple level house. We can't move in with her because of my husband's job (his age would make it hard to move to another job and he hasn't been at this one long enough to collect pension). My brother is looking to move in but his own health issues make it a little difficult (needs to find a dialysis clinic who could take over his treatments and where my mom lives, there's only 2 hospitals and one is over an hour away).

    • @lisanassy-harrison8670
      @lisanassy-harrison8670 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      And yes we've (me, my hubby, and my brother) looked at bank statements BUT with my mom present only because we had to help her get everything changed into her name (utilities, TV/Internet/phone) and see what else my Dad had. Lets just say he hid a few things from my mom and now we're having to figure out what to do (thankfully only one was a debt other than the standard stuff (a LOC) and that was paid off almost immediately). While Dad wasn't rich, he left enough for Mom to live comfortably. Only thing we haven't done is actual bank accounts because the will isn't readily available (Mom and Dad's lawyer was in another city (previous residence) too far for her to drive so had to set up a new lawyer to bring everything closer to home).

    The single mother comparison is the biggest cop out I've ever heard as an excuse men use to not be the slightest bit involved with they kids XTHEY made. When the woman is pregnant, he thumps his chest, proclaiming himself "the man" cuz his swimmers worked, but when the kids come out and the work begins, they're suddenly "her" kids that "she" made, so its all on her. Then he complains when she starts sleeping alone and can't figure out why

  • @norarivkis2513
    @norarivkis2513 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Story 2: Actually, she probably does have *time* to clean up between when the twins need her. It's *energy* she almost certainly doesn't have. Newborns do sleep an awful lot of the time, but within the first couple of months the mother's body isn't anywhere near at full capacity again yet. There might be time, but they spend it napping or sagging in a chair, because that's all they can do when they get a minute. Especially since they're waking up every two or three hours to feed and change them, so they don't get their rest overnight.
    As for "why can't you do it when everyone else can?" the fact is that everyone else can't!! Pretty much all new parents let the house fall apart in the first couple of months after their first child is born... even if they only have one, let alone two. Even when they divide the childcare between them far better between them than this dude was willing to do.

So new FATHERS dont be Ronnie the Dbag HELP your wife and child by doing more than changing a diaper or 2 a day.

    I’m not sure Rose made the right decision to divorce. I know Robbie was a true a** to her, but I’m leaning toward giving him at least a trial reconciliation. People can and do change. If he slid back in to his old rotten behavior, then a divorce is warranted. Childcare, especially for multiples, is a huge job and exhausting! I understand her position, but I think she could have given him a chance to redeem himself. Trust can be difficult to rebuild; it takes extreme effort and complete commitment from both spouses.

Go to a lawyer, get an airtight agreement that states he can't get anything from you ever, and make him suffer for the rest of his life, not give him freedom. But, I'm in it for the long game. Divorce you get what the courts say you can get. Stay married and you can get it all. Every paycheck. They tormented their husbands back in the old days when they weren't able to get quicky divorces. Im going to take it that you didnt pop a watermelon out of your boba straw. I have. It was NOT easy to keep the house clean with only 1 kid. Because 1- your hormones are still jacked up
      2-you have to feed the peanuts every 2-4 hours and depending on nursing she may not produce enough milk making the other cry
      3-because they have to feed every 2-4 hours you get to (hopefully sleep) every 1-3 hours for the first month or so until their tummies can hold more food. Que the diaper changes. Also about every 15-30 mins from eating.
      4-if the 2 hours of intermittent sleep allows prep, cook and clean while engaging, soothing, cleaning and feeding the child either by yourself or until your helper comes home. Hopefully the helper helps. If NOT then try to fit in the rest of THEIR needs on top of the crying baby while your boba straw deals with the staples, your uterus decides it wants to be regular size again and the rest of the baby hormones clear your system. If mother nature will give you a break to help out why cant your mate?🤔

      So you're saying you're wonder woman. Congrats. Not every woman is like that. As with everything, we all heal at different rates. When I had my daughter, my Ex (daughter's father) suggested I stay with my mother during the day since she lived nearby. His train of thought was that it would give me the chance to recover and rest. At home, his two older sons from his marriage would do their own laundry and made sure to clean up after themselves. My Ex also would help with keeping the house clean and caring for our daughter. As I recovered, I did more chores and once I returned to work, we shared childcare and chores. As it should be.
